Chapter 20

Chapter 20 (Raziel) I had felt the pull of magic coming from Rayne as it was materializing in her palm. Being a High Priest had its advantages. I could zone in on any Reaver and know what powers they were using at any given time. I could do it to any creature, but why waste my time? It wasn't something I really used often, or even cared about. But since Rayne started dreamwalking I had kept my eye on her in case other powers started to emerge. It’s a good thing I did too. As soon as I felt it, I instantly focused on her and materialized where she was. I ended up at The Edge, in the doorway of the second floor. I scoffed, a night club huh? Lovely. Our kind rarely frequented places such as these. We had, what you could say, a reputation... I looked up just in time to see her throw Alpha Drake into the adjacent wall in a fury of green flames. It took me a minute to register what had happened as I was in awe at her appearance. She was wearing my color, gold. And I had not influenced h

Chapter 21

Chapter 21 I snapped my fingers and the DJ put on a slow song. I snapped my fingers again and slowed down time, that way I could revel in this moment much longer. Manipulating time was something I did often. I loved giving myself more time to complete tasks, or speeding time up when I was anticipating something. These simple changes came in rather useful. Just another one of the many things we, as Reavers, could do. Rayne looked up at me. Her beautiful platinum eyes were sparkling. I couldn't help but think about a time when she would be mine forever. I planned to slow time down often once that happened. I knew she would warm up to me, it just took time. Maybe quite a bit more time than I had anticipated. She will be 20 in a short time, and I had hoped to win her over around 18 or so. That didn't quite work as well as I had originally thought. Probably my own fault anyways, you know, scaring off all those people she cared about, and killing Eric. Nero scoffed, they deserved it any

Chapter 22

Chapter 22 (Rayne) I was definitely feeling the alcohol after my drink, Alpha Drake's drink, and Raziel’s drink. They didn't go light on us Wolves knowing that we didn't get drunk like Humans. I probably had the equivalent of 10 shots, if I were to guess. Not that I was even drunk still, but definitely feeling good. You know, that lowered inhibition feeling good. I looked up into Raziel’s eyes and for the first time I wasn't scared of him. Probably the alcohol talking. I was still somewhat in shock after the events that unfolded... Actually, I was in denial mostly. I had launched Alpha Drake across the room with only my hand. I acted like I didn't see the green flames, but I did, and I've seen them before from Raziel... I was just too afraid to bring it up. I vaguely remembered my mother and Alpha Drake being suspended in green flames. A twinge of realization hit me. I may be more than just a Wolf.... At this time it was probably due to the alcohol, but I didn't even freak out. My

Chapter 23

Chapter 23 (Rayne) Roman had dropped me off a little early, I blamed it on the night's events. But really, I was eager to get home and fuck around with these powers, so I didn’t mind. I had always wondered why my mother and I had platinum, a precious metal, colored eyes when no one else I had ever met did. I had always heard the stories of Reavers and their precious metal obsessions. How their eyes and voices matched, but never put it together until now. I can't be just a Wolf, I had to be something more. I could do the things Raziel did. Well, some of them, sort of. I wasn't sure, but I was determined to find out and try again. I got home and changed out of my dress into a gold sports bra and sweatpants. I was becoming fond of the color. I may be a little biased though because gold reminded me of him. I sat on my bed and closed my eyes. I was determined to make a flaming green fireball. I concentrated as hard as I could and tried to force it to form, but nothing happened. I tried

Chapter 24

Chapter 24 (Raphael) I was dreamwalking my own dream to get some peace and quiet and let myself read a bit. I never really got much time to myself, running a multitude of Covens and all. So my escape was in my dreams. I had just downed a second glass of silver brandy when I felt a presence. "Strange, now who would be daring enough to enter my dreams?" I questioned Axel, my Wolf. "It feels like a woman, sir." He said. "Curious... shall we go see, or let her find us?" I inquired. "Looks like she's already on her way up, sir." Axel said. I set my glass down and headed towards my bedroom door just as I heard a stunning voice say my name. "Raphael." I was surprised. I opened the door and locked eyes with the most beautiful pair of platinum silver eyes I had ever seen. This woman standing before me was stunning, to say the least. I took a minute to take in her beauty. Axel was howling his approval in my mind. She was wearing a simple gold sports bra and sweats, but she was exquisite, ev

Chapter 25

Chapter 25 (Raziel) I had been tracking Rayne for weeks now, in case she was using her powers unknowingly again. She could do some real damage to herself, and possibly others, being untrained. I made it my personal business to keep track of her unsolicited magic usage. Hell, her whole life was my personal business anyway, so why not? She had access to a plethora of powers that she really had no idea about, and any of those powers could start to form at any time. She already was using fireballs and dreamwalking. What would be next? I was determined to keep her safe no matter the cost. Everything had been calm the last little while. I assumed that Alpha Drake being out of town multiple times in the past few weeks, definitely helped. Unfortunately, he had returned a day or so ago, and I had been waiting for her to just snap again. He undoubtedly would not leave her alone, I was sure of it. He made it very clear to me by his actions that he wanted to make her Luna of The Obsidian pack

Chapter 26

Chapter 26 (Rayne) "Raphael?" I said softly, as I opened the silver door to his bedroom. He was inside at his bar getting a drink. "Well, hello beautiful." He said, as he turned around with two drinks in his hand. His was silver, of course. But to my surprise mine was gold, which made me think of Raziel. He started walking towards me as I walked further into the room. We met halfway at the globe and chairs where we had started to read last time. He handed me my drink and motioned for me to sit down. I couldn't help but admire Raphael’s Sheer beauty. He was wearing a solid silver suit jacket and suit pants, which I thought would definitely be too much silver, but it really wasn't. He had a black suit vest underneath, a black tie and black shoes. The silver suit jacket had black accents, but the pants didn't, and that made up just enough offset to work. His hair was neat but a little tousled in the front, and his shining silver eyes seemed to sparkle with his outfit. I could feel hi

Chapter 27

Chapter 27 "Dreamwalking?!" Wynter screeched after we woke up and she re-lived my dream. "So it wasn't a dream after all. Shit..." I huffed. Raphael clearly said dreamwalking was real, it was something a Reaver could do easily and enjoyed it. It would make sense that I could do it as well. I knew now that I was much more than just a Wolf. That would mean I dreamwalked to Raziel’s dream too. And when I summoned him to my dream with Alpha Drake, that was also real. Well, he was, at least. I wondered how often I had unknowingly done this in the past. I started to panic thinking I had unknowingly trespassed in other people’s dreams. Then I noticed I still had that tingly feeling on my face where Raphael had cupped it last night. I got up and went into my bathroom to check the mirror. That's when I saw it. The most beautiful silver, glittery, infinity symbol standing diagonally, covered in vines and filigree, sparkling right on the side of my face. The filigree and vines were going down

Chapter 28

Chapter 28 (Raziel) I materialized in front of the silver gate to Raphael’s home. I narrowed my eyes at the infinity symbol standing vertically on the gate, trying to hold back the rage that was bubbling at the sheer sight of it. "Fuck it, bust that motherfucker down." Nero snarled. I took a single fireball and blew the gate apart. I stalked onto Raphael’s property up to his front door. "Raphael!" I roared, as I threw another fireball into his front door and blew it off the hinges. "I'm going to fucking kill you." I yelled, as I threw fireball after fireball destroying everything around me. I stalked up the stairs using magic to unshelve every book in his library. It sent silver glitter flying around the whole room. This reminded me of Rayne, and that made me even more enraged. I finally got to the silver double doors. I knew they were just like my own, which meant they were spelled, and they could not be penetrated. That didn't stop me from trying though. I threw a double fireball

Chapter 29

Chapter 29 (Rayne) I was still in a hot mess after what had just happened with Raziel. The mark on my face was burning its disapproval of my shenanigans. I still had to get to training this morning and was now about to be late. “Shit!” I cried out loud. I threw on a gold sports bra, black leggings and my new gold tennis shoes I recently bought to match. I quickly threw my hair up in a high pony and ran out the door. I contemplated not even showing up... I knew Alpha Drake was back from his travels this week and I was really enjoying my time not having to deal with him. But I knew he would kill me if I ditched out, so I went anyway. I got to training at the same time as Roman. “Hey.” I said, as I was trying to catch my breath from running. I looked up at Roman since he hadn't said anything, and I had completely forgotten about the mark. He was eyeballing it in awe. “What is that? It’s beautiful, oh my god.” He stammered. His words made the mark burn. It seemed that anyone else arou
