Chapter 27 "Dreamwalking?!" Wynter screeched after we woke up and she re-lived my dream. "So it wasn't a dream after all. Shit..." I huffed. Raphael clearly said dreamwalking was real, it was something a Reaver could do easily and enjoyed it. It would make sense that I could do it as well. I knew now that I was much more than just a Wolf. That would mean I dreamwalked to Raziel’s dream too. And when I summoned him to my dream with Alpha Drake, that was also real. Well, he was, at least. I wondered how often I had unknowingly done this in the past. I started to panic thinking I had unknowingly trespassed in other people’s dreams. Then I noticed I still had that tingly feeling on my face where Raphael had cupped it last night. I got up and went into my bathroom to check the mirror. That's when I saw it. The most beautiful silver, glittery, infinity symbol standing diagonally, covered in vines and filigree, sparkling right on the side of my face. The filigree and vines were going down
Chapter 28 (Raziel) I materialized in front of the silver gate to Raphael’s home. I narrowed my eyes at the infinity symbol standing vertically on the gate, trying to hold back the rage that was bubbling at the sheer sight of it. "Fuck it, bust that motherfucker down." Nero snarled. I took a single fireball and blew the gate apart. I stalked onto Raphael’s property up to his front door. "Raphael!" I roared, as I threw another fireball into his front door and blew it off the hinges. "I'm going to fucking kill you." I yelled, as I threw fireball after fireball destroying everything around me. I stalked up the stairs using magic to unshelve every book in his library. It sent silver glitter flying around the whole room. This reminded me of Rayne, and that made me even more enraged. I finally got to the silver double doors. I knew they were just like my own, which meant they were spelled, and they could not be penetrated. That didn't stop me from trying though. I threw a double fireball
Chapter 29 (Rayne) I was still in a hot mess after what had just happened with Raziel. The mark on my face was burning its disapproval of my shenanigans. I still had to get to training this morning and was now about to be late. “Shit!” I cried out loud. I threw on a gold sports bra, black leggings and my new gold tennis shoes I recently bought to match. I quickly threw my hair up in a high pony and ran out the door. I contemplated not even showing up... I knew Alpha Drake was back from his travels this week and I was really enjoying my time not having to deal with him. But I knew he would kill me if I ditched out, so I went anyway. I got to training at the same time as Roman. “Hey.” I said, as I was trying to catch my breath from running. I looked up at Roman since he hadn't said anything, and I had completely forgotten about the mark. He was eyeballing it in awe. “What is that? It’s beautiful, oh my god.” He stammered. His words made the mark burn. It seemed that anyone else arou
Chapter 30 "I'm not where I belong, I don't belong with you!" I screamed, my mark burning under my defiant words. Both of my hands were now engulfed in green flames. Raphael looked back at me as he got up off the floor. Surprise, and then hurt filled his eyes which sent a pang of guilt through me. I didn’t mean to hurt his feelings, but this guilt was, no doubt, influenced by the mark. Honestly, I was surprised. I couldn't believe I was able to resist the marks pull. It was as if my memories were jumbled in my head. Everything else was second to the mark and my need to be close to Raphael, even when I knew I shouldn’t be. “How... how did you do that, Rayne? How are you resisting the marks pull? That is impossible!” He stammered as he started walking back my way. “No Raphael, stay away from me.” I said with conviction. Little did he know I was absolutely shaking inside. I knew that if he came even 1 step closer that I wouldn’t be able to resist him. Everything in my body was saying
Chapter 31 He sat me down on his huge black and gold bed. Sitting next to me, he took me into his arms. "Thank you. I'm so sorry, I don’t know what happened." I said with sincerity in my voice. “Shhh darling, it’s ok. You’re alright.” He purred, while running his hand through my silver hair. He snapped and produced us both drinks of gold liquid. “Drink, you’ll feel better.” He said. I drank the liquid, sipping it this time rather than taking it as a shot. He was right. It did make me feel better. Besides the uncomfortable burning of my mark, I was definitely feeling less anxious. My hands weren’t tingly, I didn't feel like I was accidentally calling The Shadows. And honestly, the sheer burning of my mark was almost a comfort at this point, telling me that I was right where I needed to be... in Raziel’s arms, and far away from Raphael. “Now tell me about The Shadows, darling.” Raziel Purred. “I’m not sure where to start. I’m not even sure how I called them... but it was like they c
Chapter 32 (Raphael) “How did she do it? How did she resist the marks pull?” I asked Axel. “She is strong, she is different from a normal Reaver, and she is ours.” Axel growled. “I know she is... she just doesn't know it yet. My brother may think he is top dog, but this will be a battle he will not win. As long as my mark adorns her beautiful face, I still have a chance. And I will not give up that easily.” I told Axel. "She is perfect, she is exactly what I need. Can you imagine it? High Priestess, Rayne, by my side and ruling my Coven’s?" I purred. I pictured her wearing the High Priestess crown and standing strong by my side. I could see her wearing a silver and black long dress with a crisscross back. It had a long slit from the floor to her upper thigh on one side. She looked so beautiful standing there with my mark adorning her face, sparkling in the sunshine. No one would dare step to her, especially by my side. She would be a fierce leader, and not to mention absolutely be
Chapter 33 “Reaver.” I growled, as I hung up the phone. I eyeballed him for a moment and assumed he was Raphael. Why else would a Reaver approach me, of all people? That is, unless he had business with someone in my pack... Rayne. “You must be Raphael... Can I help you?” I spewed. Yes, he was terrifying, but I wasn’t about to show weakness. I never did with them, and I never would. I looked him dead in the eyes. My gaze didn’t falter in the least. I noticed this Reaver seemed to be different from Mr. Kane. His demeanor was calm and collected, not fiery. He seemed like he may be more of a man of business than his counterpart, who seemed to love violence over anything else. I mind linked my pack, to alert them and have them on standby in case this went bad. “Indeed, I am Raphael. No need to alert the pack... I’m here to make a deal.” Raphael said, with a glint in his eye. How did he know I alerted the pack? What the fuck? Could they hear a mind link? I realized at that moment that I
Chapter 34 (Raphael) I stood there in Alpha Drake's office, Shadows writhing at my feet. Alpha Drake had taken his newly risen little sister into his arms, and I could see the tears glistening from his cheeks. I knew calling The Shadows would work. It’s a deal too good to pass up, that is, if they don’t ask for the ultimate sacrifice... Which they often did. Unfortunately for him, he was not excluded from this. I, of course, was reluctant. I was not as friendly with The Shadows as Raziel. None of us brothers really were. You had to be willing to give up quite a bit to work with them, and the price usually wasn't worth the prize. However, The Shadows seemed to be my only option because Alpha Drake wasn’t budging. He loved Rayne as well, and I couldn’t help but think of how special she had to be to get the attention of all these people. There was something more about her, something we were missing, there had to be. Anytime I was around her she seemed so innocent and eager to learn so
