Chapter 51.

McKenna's POV."I'm in love with you, Dixon." A huge smile broke out on his face, and he pulled me closer to himself as he captured my lips in a steamy kiss.I felt Dixon stand up and made his way somewhere. It's a surprise he didn't even break the kiss at all. Dixon kicked a door open and laid me on the bed. He broke the kiss and got on top of me before staring into my eyes."Say that again." He asked. I looked at him in confusion, not getting what he was talking about."What you told me in the living room, Say it again." My eyes widened in realization. "What was that? I honestly don't remember saying anything to you.""McKenna! Stop torturing me! I know I heard you say it. Just say it again."I grinned. It was so fun seeing him all sweaty and shaky. I took pity on him before touching the side of his face and brought it down so I could press a kiss on the c

Chapter 52.

McKenna's POV. I closed my eyes tightly as the sun kept peeking through the window. I then opened my eyes slowly and yawned softly. Looking at the alarm clock beside me, it read 7:15 am. I felt pressed and made a move to get up, but I froze when I felt an arm pull me back. Only then did I notice there was a large arm wrapped around my waist, and my back pressed into a broad chest. I looked over my shoulder slowly to see Dixon sleeping peacefully. He's so effortlessly beautiful even in his sleep. I thought to myself as I turned my body to face him, and he pulled me closer so that we are chest to chest. I brought my hand up to his hair, and my hand ran freely in them. I brushed the few strands that fell on his forehead away and admired his face.  I ran my hand down his nose as I traced it. I made my way to his mouth as I traced his soft lips. He bit my finger, making me gasp. He didn't open his eyes as h

Chapter 53.

Third Person's POV.Adam stared helplessly at the documents in front of him. After he successfully hacked into the hospital's database the first time, he suspected foul play. When Dixon asked for his help, he knew something was going on. 'This is so confusing.' He muttered under his breath. He ran his hand through his hair as he stared at the forged death certificate of McKenna's parents. He knew it was an invasion of privacy to go through McKenna's stuff, but he also knew she wouldn't even want him to entertain the thought that her parents are still alive. The way she handled it the first time wasn't satisfying and encouraging enough. After Dixon left with McKenna, he had secretly snuck into McKenna's room to look for anything that would prove his instincts right. He refuses to tell anyone anything until he was sure of his suspicions. After searching her room, He found her parents' death certificate in her suitcase.

Chapter 54.

McKenna's POV."Your hair is so silky and smooth," I muttered as I ran my fingers through his soft hair, pulling on the strands while massaging his scalp. "Mhmm." Dixon had his head on my lap as he had his eyes closed. We arrived at his office a couple of hours ago. Dixon only needed to sign some documents after which he complained of having a headache. I leaned back on the sofa I was sitting on as I gently ran my hands through his hair. Dixon's tie and jacket were lying on the arm of the chair. He had the top few buttons of his shirt loosed, giving me a good view of his toned body. He also had his sleeves rolled up to his elbow, showing off his tattoos. Sometimes, I always wondered how this handsome man became my boyfriend. I took my hand from his hair to trace his tattoos. He let out a whine, making me giggle. "Your tattoos are so sexy. When did you get it?" I said, tracing the words on his

Chapter 55.

Dixon's POV."WHAT?" I slammed my hands on the table in anger."Dude, calm down. You'll alert McKenna." Adam said, trying to calm me down. How can I remain calm after hearing that? Trevor is a fucking bastard. I can't believe I share the same blood with him."Are you sure of what you're telling me?" I asked him, ignoring his earlier comment."Have I ever lied to you before?" He rolled his eyes at my statement. Of course, I knew he wouldn't lie to me. It's the one reason why he's my best friend, but what he told me now is somewhat difficult to believe. I knew Trevor was an evil person, but I can't comprehend why he'd go that far. Is he that desperate for wealth?"So McKenna has no more shares in her father's company?" He shook his head in negative."But according to what David told me, her father is working on it. Hopefully, he would rectify the situation. David also said we should t

Chapter 56.

McKenna's POV."Ian-- Ian, he's awake."I choked out as I tried getting air into my lungs. Dixon's eye widened a fraction when he finally processed what I said. He grabbed his suit jacket as shrugged it on before leading me out of the room. 'He's awake.'That was all I could think of as I settled down in the car. I stare at my phone, somehow thinking that maybe, just maybe, Luke's call will come in again, telling me it was all a prank. I leaned my head against the window as Dixon kept driving to the hospital. Will he recognize me? Will Ian hate me now that I've realized how right they were about Jason? Would he want to see me?"Princess, he's going to be okay. Be happy he's awake." He said as he entwined his fingers with mine. I stared at his hand in mine as he stroked his thumb gently on my hand."What if he hates me? What if he doesn't recognize me? What

McKenna's POV."Well, well, well. If it isn't my favorite cousin."Dixon turned to him, anger emitting from him as he squeezed my hand. I placed my hand on his biceps, giving it a little squeeze, to calm him down. I don't want him getting angry at this event. It's supposed to be our breath of fresh air considering everything we've been through recently."What do you want, Trevor?" Trevor sipped his drink like he had no care in the world. The disgusting smirk on his face irks me to my bone, making my skin crawl."Can't a man be happy for his cousin? I came to celebrate with you. Congratulations on opening a new office, Dix.""Don't you fucking dare call me that!! You have no right." I can see the vein on his neck at this point. He's angry. I just hope he doesn't have a tantrum again. I looked at the man standing in front of me. He had a nasty smirk on his face and a glass with whiskey in his hand. I can't

Chapter 58.

McKenna's POV.I stared at the building in front of me in disbelief. I can't believe Dixon brought me here. I took my eyes off the building to look at him. He had both hands in his pockets as he stared in concentration at the building. "A rehabilitation center?" He shrugged his shoulders before moving closer to the building. I placed my hand on his biceps to stop him. I can't, for the life of me, understand why he brought me here.  "What are we doing here, Dixon? You said we were going somewhere. I didn't know you were bringing me to a rehab center?"  "You don't want to come? We could go back if you want. I only came because you promised to come with me." His eyes looked sad as he said that. My brain seemed to receive some signal as I remembered the promise I made him. "It's okay. I'm sorry you went through all that. I could go with you if you don't mind."

Chapter 59

Dixon's POV.I feel so happy and complete sitting here with Leo like old times. Seeing my brother after so many years has fulfilled me in more ways than one.  "She's a keeper then?" He asked me some minutes after McKenna left for the restroom. I looked up at him and smiled. "Yeah, she is."  "I'm proud of you, baby bro. You have no idea how much pride and joy I felt whenever I see you on television." "That weirdly made me feel good." I laughed out. I watched as his countenance changed within seconds. I know that look. He's beating himself up again. "I'm sorry, Dix. I should have been there for you when you needed me the most. I should have believed in you sooner. I should've known you're strong enough to fight the disease. I shouldn't have walked out on you that day. I shouldn't---" "You really need to stop apologizing. It's all behind us now.

Chapter 60

McKenna's POV.My body hurts. I could feel the pain shooting at every single muscle in my body, my head pounding and some liquid flowing down my face. My hand reached out to massage my throbbing temples trying to alleviate some of the pain, but frustration coursed through my body at the inability to move. 'Ugh, my head hurts.'  I slowly opened my eyes to see that I was in a dark room except for the light peeking through the small window at the top of the room. I looked around the room for a way out, but there's nothing except the window. What am I doing here? How did I get here? I can't remember anything. Think, Kenny. Think. The only thing I seem to remember was the restroom and Sophie. My eyes seem to widen as I finally realized what happened. Yes, Sophie brought me here. "Sophie!!! Sophie!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. My head hurts, but I need to talk to her. I'm sure she has he
