🍒Brian's POVBusiness was going smoothly even though my life was in a mess right now but that was besides the point. I haven’t heard from Cindy in a long while and it was taking a toll on me. Honestly what kind of a boyfriend was I? I never bothered to ask her for her number, since we practically lived in the same house. I  didn't even know if she had a phone, God I was really the worst. I’m wondering what she thinks of me now. Did she hate me? Had she met someone new? All these questions  were racing in my mind. I heard a knock on my hotel room door and walked towards the door to find out who it was.Cindy's POV My morning sickness was getting worse and I was having a hard time hiding it from my mum. Life went back to the boring old days before I met Brian. The only differe

Cindy’s POV “You’re fired!” “You’re fired!”  The sentence kept resonating in my head. I didn’t know what I was going to do with myself.  I didn’t know if my mum was fired too, and I hope to God that she wasn't. We have worked here for so long, that I didn’t know what to do with my life, should I leave. I hadn't saved enough for university, and I wouldn’t even have a place to lay my head. I was currently in Janet’s room crying my eyes out. My mum won’t speak to me and that made it even worse. I was now regretting my actions, what was I thinking, what in the world encouraged me to date someone like Brian?  Life didn't work like that. This wasn’t a fairytale, where the poor girl ends up with the rich charming prince. My crazy mind made me b

Cindy's POV   My hotel room was very luxurious, and what more could you expect from a five star hotel actually?  The room was spacious and well decorated but my tired mind barely paid any attention to my surroundings. All I could think about was lying down on the inviting, cozy looking king-sized bed with comfy sheets.  I hopped onto the bed forgetting my problems for a while and then drifted to sleep almost immediately.  The next morning came by quickly, the knock on my door woke me up. I groggily jumped out of bed and stumbled towards the door. I opened the door and was met with a warm smile from a uniformed man who had a tray full of food. "Good morning ma'am, room service. I ushered the man in and he set the food on the little table across the room. I thanked him and he walked out.   I went to the wash

Cindy's POV Living in Mr. Mike’s house was amazing. Everyone was friendly and  Grace was very understanding when I told her about my pregnancy. She was over the moon when she realised that there was going to be another addition to the house. I basically have to beg the lovely woman to work ever since she got to know about my situation. One month later
I was now four months through my pregnancy and I’m starting to show. It's still not that obvious though, and it's almost inconspicuous when I wear baggy clothes. To be honest, Dr. Mike has been nothing but a Godsend. The kind man has always been there for me making sure I never missed any doctors appointment, and doing everything he could to ensure my and the baby's comfort. I was truly blessed. We had become so close that he gets very pissed when I call him Dr. Mike but he knows that it has become a habit now that I'm  trying real h

Chapter 15 Brian's POV (Six months later) I took off my suit and loosened my tie immediately after I got to the hotel room. I’d being living here for five months and it still looked cold and plain like no one resided there. My one month business trip had turned to three weeks in New York and five months in London and counting. The business deals with Elon Musk's company had been successful and our stocks in the international  market were yielding impressive results. I was ready to go back home when something unexpected happened. My dad had called to inform me that word had gotten to him that one of our branches in the UK was near bankrupt. Needless to say, it needed my urgent attention. Merchandise were disappearing and no one had any idea how it was happening. I flew to London and immediately called for a private  in

Chapter 16Cindy’s POV  It felt nice to have my mum by my side again after so long. The drive home from the supermarket was a surprisingly long one due to the lunch break rush hour traffic. We arrived home, with my poor feet crying out from exhaustion. I quickly introduced my mum to all the other staff, and funny enough, I didn't even find it surprising to see my mum and Grace hit things off like they had known each other for ages. Sitting down in one of the sofas in the living area, I watched Simon make continuous trips to the car to get the groceries, I smiled at him, grateful for his resourcefulness. I also observed how the man couldn't keep his eyes away from my mum… his senses were all attuned to her, especially when she laughed, it was honestly so adorable.Too bad mom wasn't looking for a relationship. My waist was hurting so bad. I really could

Chapter 17The baby is coming!!That’s all I heard.Nothing else made sense after that. Basically, everything was in a blur. Grace met us down the stairs, I think she heard mum’s initial scream. I felt them both gently drag me outside towards the car where Simon was already waiting. And that’s when it hit me.My very first painful contraction.I screamed from the intensity of the pain, ignoring the soothing voices of my mum and Grace. When the pain had subsided, I burst into tears.“I can’t do this anymore mum.” I wailed.I felt her hold unto my shoulders, her voice so very far away. I was already starting to sweat in bucketfuls. “Listen to me Cindy, you can do this. You are strong, you are powerful, and this pain will barely be remembered when you are finally holding your bundle of joy in your arms, alright?”“Come on Cindy, we need to get you to the hospit

Chapter 18Mike“Mariam, meet Dr. Mike, Mike meet Mariam, Cindy’s mother.”Did she just say Cindy’s mother?Or perhaps I misheard her?No, I don’t think so. I mean, my sight may be bad but my hearing is quite impeccable. We both stood there looking at each other in surprise, the shock on both our faces pretty evident especially when I realized that all that Mariam had told me was about Cindy.I started to panic a little. “Grace, have you heard anything from the doctors yet?”She shook her head in the negative.I squared my shoulders and gave them both nod. “I’m going in.”Cindy’s mother grabbed me by the arm, halting me in my tracks. “Are you sure they’ll let you in?”I smirked. “I’m a doctor, remember? They’ll need all the help they can get.”I barged into the ward. “God, Cindy!”There she was, my little. All color had drained from her face, and she seemed to be in so much pai

Brian’s POV   Today went pretty well and I was in a very good mood.   I just couldn’t explain the feeling. It felt like there was this warmth growing in my chest and I just couldn’t understand it. Either way, it felt like a good thing so I was just going to go with the flow. Rosaline, my partner, and now girlfriend told me she would be passing by my office so we could have lunch together. Perhaps, that was the reason why I felt so happy
I honestly don't know. Rosaline and I started a relationship a few weeks ago, and it was going great so far. I mean, the sex is great and I’m not complaining. I honestly don't mean to sound like a jerk but that's exactly what this relationship is all about, and I've made it pretty clear to Rosaline, and she seems to have no problem so, I guess it's all good. I must admit, Rosaline is really an amazing woman and I've honestly tried to feel something for

Chapter 20 Six years later Cindy's Pov “Kayla! Come on honey, we've got to go or else you'd be late.” I shouted as I proceeded to exit the house to my car. Six years. It's been a whole rollercoaster you know? Having to juggle the responsibility of raising a six year old while managing a rapidly growing fashion line was tough, but I was loving every bit of it. Besides, I had the best support system a young woman could ask for, meaning I was basically living the good life. “Bye grandma, bye grandpa.” I heard my little girl holler before hurrying to join me outside. A whole lot had happened in the space of six years, starting with Janet, my best friend getting a scholarship to go study abroad. She had come to see me a week after Kayla was born and Dr. Mike, being the good man he was, had asked her to stay for a few days. The good new
