  1. Mike

“Mariam, meet Dr. Mike, Mike meet Mariam, Cindy’s mother.”

Did she just say Cindy’s mother?

Or perhaps I misheard her?

No, I don’t think so. I mean, my sight may be bad but my hearing is quite impeccable.

We both stood there looking at each other in surprise, the shock on both our faces pretty evident especially when I realized that all that Mariam had told me was about Cindy.

I started to panic a little. “Grace, have you heard anything from the doctors yet?”

She shook her head in the negative.

I squared my shoulders and gave them both nod. “I’m going in.”

Cindy’s mother grabbed me by the arm, halting me in my tracks. “Are you sure they’ll let you in?”

I smirked. “I’m a doctor, remember? They’ll need all the help they can get.”

I barged into the ward. “God, Cindy!”

There she was, my little. All color had drained from her face, and she seemed to be in so much pai

Brian’s POV Today went pretty well and I was in a very good mood. I just couldn’t explain the feeling. It felt like there was this warmth growing in my chest and I just couldn’t understand it. Either way, it felt like a good thing so I was just going to go with the flow. Rosaline, my partner, and now girlfriend told me she would be passing by my office so we could have lunch together. Perhaps, that was the reason why I felt so happy… I honestly don't know. Rosaline and I started a relationship a few weeks ago, and it was going great so far. I mean, the sex is great and I’m not complaining. I honestly don't mean to sound like a jerk but that's exactly what this relationship is all about, and I've made it pretty clear to Rosaline, and she seems to have no problem so, I guess it's all good. I must admit, Rosaline is really an amazing woman and I've honestly tried to feel something for

Chapter 20 Six years later Cindy's Pov “Kayla! Come on honey, we've got to go or else you'd be late.” I shouted as I proceeded to exit the house to my car. Six years. It's been a whole rollercoaster you know? Having to juggle the responsibility of raising a six year old while managing a rapidly growing fashion line was tough, but I was loving every bit of it. Besides, I had the best support system a young woman could ask for, meaning I was basically living the good life. “Bye grandma, bye grandpa.” I heard my little girl holler before hurrying to join me outside. A whole lot had happened in the space of six years, starting with Janet, my best friend getting a scholarship to go study abroad. She had come to see me a week after Kayla was born and Dr. Mike, being the good man he was, had asked her to stay for a few days. The good new

Chapter 22 Cindy’s POV Well if you haven't figured it out by now, I'll tell you. Sam is my fiancé. He’s a good guy, I'm actually very lucky to have him you know? It's funny how when he started pursuing me, I initially hated his guts. We met at the neighborhood’s park, one cool afternoon. Kayla was just three years old then and the weather was too perfect to not go on a walk. He just happened to be walking his dog that day, a very cute brown and white collie that even I could not help but admire. I must have been staring for quite too long, because before I knew it, Kayla had torn her hand away from mine and was dashing towards the dog at amazing speed. I swore under my breath and chased after her. My little girl was a very passionate animal lover even at such a young age, but my only concern in that moment was to make sure the dog didn't harm her in any way. flashback

Mum had come by a couple of times, and that helped a lot since I had to go to work and Kayla needed someone to be by her side while she had that long week rest the doctor had prescribed for her along with her medications.I woke up early as usual, my heart giddy with that usual thrill of knowing I was going to work, but when I stepped into my bathroom for a quick shower, a quick look at my calendar revealed that I had it all wrong. It was Sunday. I’m pretty sure the loud groan of frustration I let out woke up the entire neighborhood, but then again, I always loved exaggerating so I wasn’t really sure. Why in the hell had I woken up early then?It was too late for church… seeing as I wasn’t ready physically and mentally, and being one of those people who could never go to bed once they were awake, I kn

Lisa couldn’t register the anything as the events unfolds right in front of her eyes. Everything she knew of her brother and the former maid was all a lie. How could this happen? This didn’t make sense and she was going to make it make sense before leaving. Cindy on the other hand wasn’t taking this slightly though.
