The Birth of the <Shadow Palace>

[System Message: Are you sure that you would like to use the <Hidden Land Deed>][Y/N] Kirou looked at the message that was displayed before him for a few seconds before he finally made his selection. Following this action, the <Hidden Land Deed> turned into a mass of light which then faded out of existence. Kirou watched as this happened before him, following which he received a new system prompt along with the entire underground cavern being enveloped by an aura of light. [System Message: You have used a <Hidden Land Deed> to claim this area.][As of now, this underground cavern is now the sole property of the player Kirou.][Please give this area a new name.] Reading the new prompts, Kirou went silent for a moment as he thought of a name. In doing so, Kirou thought back to his time on the Grand Desolate Continent. He had experienced many things on that continent, chief of all bei

Punishments and Secret Plots

While Mistaken Fox was excited about his quest to the Demon Continent up north, another of Kirou's acquaintances in-game was getting excited over a different issue. In another part of SC Pier City, both Navi and Reya were currently holed up within a private room within the Alchemy Branch for the Sanming Sect. While Reya was busy forging pills within the cauldron before her, Navi was sitting in a simple chair off to the side. While it looked like she was watching Reya at work, Navi was currently on an important telepathic call. "That's right, boss. He said that tomorrow is out but he'll be able to help us out on Monday night. At the moment he is only waiting for a time from us." While Navi was speaking, her voice came across as both calm and professional. This prompted the busy Reya to spare a few glances in her direction every once in a while. [Player Unknown: Very good. I'll deal with things on my end. For now, set up t

The First Long Term Mission: The Eve of their First Meeting

Once again, Kirou's eyes were greeted to the roof of his apartment after removing the headset. Kirou didn't immediately get up but decided to let his thoughts wander on all the plans, both short and long term, that he's got in store for the future. With those thoughts in mind, Kirou remained in that position for roughly half an hour, following which Kirou just closed his eyes and went to sleep. Even though his body was perfectly well-rested and he was able to operate the entire day as is, Kirou decided to use the time to get some proper rest. While Kirou rested, he was once again brought into his sea of memories. This time, Kirou was seeing one of his earliest memories as an assassin. ********** Lockrim City, North of Grand Desolate Continent. It's been over three years since Kirou had become the apprentice of that mysterious man. During those years, Kirou had been made to witness many things as he a

The First Long Term Mission: Divergence

Early the following morning, Kirou woke up feeling a bit refreshed. This lasted all but a few seconds as his mind registered something that caused him to form a wry smile on his face. The reason for this is that once again, he was being straddled by a woman with two knives at his throat. Kirou could only look up at the naked form of the woman straddling with the wry smile on his face as he spoke, "I don't mind this kind of play, Ms. Shiva. The view is quite breathtaking after all. That being said, don't you think that it's a bit too early for this?" The woman towering over him had a sweet smile on her face as she saw Kirou's eyes greedily taking in the view of her sizeable peaks. The smile on her face got much bigger as she spoke, "Not at all, Mr. Kirou. I believe this is something that can be done at any time during the day. In fact, I feel that it's a great way to start the day like this." Kirou could only helplessly lift his hands in surr

Another Shipment of Coal During Winter?

The two stayed lost in their own world for a bit longer before they finally managed to separate themselves from one another. Following this, both opted to keep some distance between them on the off chance that Kirou managed to show up and see it or they being unable to separate from each other once again. Seeing that the couple had finally separated from each other, Kirou decided that it was finally time to finish his mission. Kirou's figure lightly disappeared from the branch he was on and reappeared some hundred meters away before he started making his way towards the duo. Although they were still very quiet, Kirou allowed his footsteps to make just enough noise so that the couple ahead would be able to hear him coming. With confirmation that Kirou was closeby, both Shiva and Andy got into positions as they waited for Kirou to make himself visible. As soon as Kirou 'arrived', he was greeted by the sight of Shiva and Andy both leaning on a

The True Size of the <Shadow Palace>

Kirou locked eyes with the huge badger mole that was staring at him in curiosity. While the thought to arm himself and fight the creature did cross his mind, it just felt wrong for him to attack a creature that showed no hostile intent towards him. That being said, no matter how tame the creature is, he wasn't about to approach the creature without any caution. As Kirou was thinking about what he should do, the giant badger mole took its sweet time in approaching Kirou, all the while sniffing in the air. Seeing this action prompted Kirou to remember that he had something in his inventory that might warrant such an action. As if to prove his point, the moment Kirou removed an item from his inventory, the badger mole stopped its probe-like sniffing and its snout pointed directly towards Kirou's body. Seeing this, a certain expectation formed within Kirou's mind as he slowly approached the badger mole with the item in hand. The badger mole grew

Patience is Key

Following the discovery that Kirou made, he didn't immediately try to put any of his thoughts into action. As for the reason behind this, Kirou wanted to verify the feasibility of his plans once again, as well as obtain more information. And for that reason, Kirou led his newly tamed pet towards the underground cavern using the original entrance. The duo had managed to come across many monsters along the way towards the cave entrance but both Kirou and Asura made quick work of these creatures. By the time the duo had arrived at the underground cave, another hour had passed as Kirou once again mined out all the mineral resource points that they came across. During this action, Kirou was greeted to the surprise of seeing Asura excavating mineral ores on its own at those mineral resource points. This further gave Kirou hope of his new long term plan for the future was within his sights. Upon seeing the giant badger mole cub swaggering in with K

A Punishing Reward and A Bet

It was currently after two in the evening when Shen Jiang returned to the Gaming Department of the studio. After locking himself in one of the private rooms, Shen Jiang could no longer hold back his anger and punched one of the walls, barely leaving a dent in it. Shen Jiang was angry, no, completely furious about what had taken place in the meeting room. Having vented on the wall, Shen Jiang sat down on a suitably comfortable recliner chair and put his gaming headset before logging into the game. For now, he needed to get a start on his new assignment, but he definitely wasn't happy about it. The last thought that he had before he lost consciousness and entered the game was, 'Don't think this is over by a long shot, Yin Jia Rong. As soon as I manage to stabilize this, I will get you back for this. You as well, cousin.' The reason for Shen Jiang's anger could be traced back to the meeting that just ended between the boss

The Meeting

It was currently after five in the evening and Kirou's shift had just ended. After packing up his things, changing his clothes, and saying goodbye to his fellow security guards, Kirou left the security office and made his way to the entrance of the building. As he was walking, Kirou was currently going over the details of the demonstration he had to do later. While he wanted to help both Reya and Navi out, Kirou wasn't too keen on showing off his true ability. With that being said, Kirou was now trying to decide how much of his ability he should show. As he made it down to the first floor, Kirou passed by a few members of the gaming studio moving about and bid them farewell for the evening. While most had returned his greetings or simply waved back, there were a few that completely ignored him. Kirou only shrugged at this before making his way out of the building. Now that Kirou was on the street, he started to make his way to the subway sta

Demonstration Part 1

The group of a dozen players all stared at Kirou after he removed his hood and introduced himself to them. They took note of his human-like features and his darker skin tone and just dismissed Kirou as another human player with nothing strange about him. As for the tribal tattoos signifying that Kirou was a halfling with Lycan blood in him, the current armor that Kirou wore hid most of it, and the parts that the group saw were thought to be part of the armor design. As the group observed Kirou, so too did Kirou observe them. Looking over the entire group, it was a mix of both elf and human players, with just one female dwarf player on the side. Kirou wasn't sure if he should think that the higher-ups for Sanming were biased towards the humans and elves for their beauty but this lineup before him just doesn't allow him to think otherwise. This was especially so when he noted that only the dwarf amongst the group seemed like a bonified crafter.
