Chapter 141

The next day, everyone walked over to the new villa meant for the Old Thomas'. They were all in awe of it. The grounds were being groomed, and the interior was being professionally cleaned. Larry Watters was there to oversee that everything was set to rights before the Thomas family moved in. As he saw the people coming in, he came forward to give them a tour of the villa. He showed them the common rooms first, then went deeper into the house to show off the bedrooms. The furniture was on par with that of Ting Gap, but the villa was only about a third the size. The kitchen was large and fully furnished as well. He drew Debbie aside and asked her if she would want the pantry filled before the couple moved in. Debbie was grateful to him for thinking of this detail. Her Grandparents were thrilled with the villa, and this touch would make them feel more at home. Old Man Thomas and his wife walked around with their mouths open. They could not believe that this was going to be their home

Chapter 142

As the days went on, the Thomas household began to settle down. Once a week, Old Man and Old Madame Thomas would walk up to Ting Gap to visit their great grandsons. On these occasions, they would stay for dinner after Debbie got home from work. Rick was usually there, as he worked mainly from home. The new building was in the process of renovations, and would be finished soon. Old Wilson had suggested that Rick take a floor to use as his base of operations in Fing City. This made sense to Rick as he sometimes needed a conference room to hold meetings in. He was planning a company wide conference in the fall for all of his company Directors. They had never met each other as a group before. Rick wanted to promote a sense of unity between all of the different companies. This was the most effective way to do it. In addition, an office would be benefical for directing the local units as well. By the time it was announced that RBG Group had purchased the old Banker's Trust site, they we

Chapter 143

The move to the new office space was going smoothly. A tech company had installed all of the computer equipment and even built a secure room for the company's servers. In this technological world, server security was paramont to any business. All the basic furniture was in place, as well as wall coverings and wall hangings. It was an elegant space, very restful and calming atmosphere. All concerned were pleased with the outcome. The next step in opening the new office was the ribbon cutting ceremony. Rick wanted a low-key affair. But he was talked into a grand display to generate interest in the company. His main objection to this was that with all the new business that RBG LLC had already gotten, it seemed pointless to add to the workload. But he was over ruled by Debbie and the board of directors. Their stance was that it was more a display of community goodwill. They needed to intergrate into the downtown scene as smoothly as possible. A gala event would help to accomplish that.

In other news, General Han was pleased with the progress of his forces. The ranks of the security forces had grown by leaps and bounds. Whereas when they first started the company, they had a hard time recruiting. Now, they had a waiting list of men and women who wanted to be a part of the best security force around. The RBG Security Force had one of the best reputations in the country. Once word got out that the head of this company was General Han, everyone who had served under him in the army was eager to join up. This gave General Han his pick of the best of the best. This brought it's problems as well. Training sites that were established were starting to get overcrowded. So the general brought up the problem with Old Wilson and Rick at their next weekly meeting. He wanted to get going on setting up several new sites, and to look for future sites as well. At the moment, they had three hundred guards in various stages of readiness. Chapter 146

In the grand scheme of things, Rick's position was not unusual. There were several people in the world that could compare with Rick's wealth. However, there were also many people that were jealous of his status. These poeple could potentically be enemies bent on his destruction. But it would take someone of immense power to do so. Many people tried to take him down, such as the Harris family, but we have seen what became of them. To tell the truth, Rick himself did not really know how much he was actually worth. But that didn't matter. There was a threat brewing in the big city of Beijing. Chapter 147

Mr. Franklin was at once stunned at the turn of events. How dare these men try to supress him! He would not allow them to disrepect him at this time. "Are you trying to stop me from leaving here? Who do you think that you are? I will have you disappear in no time. This is my town, and there is nothing that can stop me from getting what I want!" Rick sat back in his chair and said "Mr. Franklin, sit down. I am not finished yet." Mr. Franklin had no choice but to sit and listen to Rick. Rick continued "We have concrete proof that you plan to plant explosive devices around our current project here in Beijing. Not only that, we have video and audio recordings of your conversations between you and a Mr. Lee. If I'm not mistaken, he is a person known to the local police as an arsonist, and a well known criminal. It will be your choice as to what we do with this evidence." "I have no idea what you are talking about. I have meetings every day with all sorts of people. You can'

Chapter 148

Rick and Old Wilson stayed in Beijing for a few more days just to be sure that things had settled down. The construction site work was running smoothly, and Old Wilson decided, since they were already here, to look for a building suitable for the planned branch expansion of RBG LLC. Rick approved of the idea to take this time to look around for the new site. Old Wilson first reviewed the list of Rick's current holdings in Beijing to see if anything stood out to him. What he found in this review was that Rick owned several office buildings in the business district close to the downtown city center. So he and Rick went on a walking tour of that area. After a few hours of scoping out the properties, they settled on a relatively small high rise office complex. It was only ten floors, but it need not be too large anyway. Since it was to be just a branch office, this location was perfect. The top three floors were currently unoccupied, as the previous tenant had moved out to their own b

Chapter 149

When Debbie and Rick heard the news, they were both stunned. First, the fact that Betty was living in Fing City was bad enough, but that she had not tried to contact Rick before this was disappointing. He really did care about her, at least in an obligatory way. Debbie was shocked because Mr. Weeks had never mentioned the fact that he was married to her moher-in-law. This made her have second thoughts as to his motives for wanting the job. Old Wilson was of the same mind as Debbie. He could not think of any reason why Mr. Weeks would keep this fact a secret. There would need to be an investigation into this matter immediately. At the office the next day, Rick accompanied his wife to work. They had decided to invite Mr. Weeks into Debbie's office for a chat. "Mr. Weeks, please come in and have a seat. Would you like some tea?" Debbie was being polite. She didn't want to show how concerned she was at that moment. Mr. Weeks was curious as to why he had been asked in

Chapter 150

When the day came for the BBQ, Debbie was a bit nervous, and Rick was in the same boat. They had been talking about this since the meeting. Rick was proud to show off his sons to their grandmother, but he was dubious of seeing her again. He wasn't sure what kind of relationship they could have now. Debbie was concerned with whether or not to continue to have Mr. Weeks as the General Manager. Their roles had taken a turn with the knowledge that he was now her step father-in-law. It was all just so confusing. When the Weeks arrived, They were in awe of the villa. Most visitors were. But it was written all over their faces that they didn't expect such opulence. They were given a tour of the house, ending in the nursery. The babies were sleeping, so Betty only got to peep in on them. She said "They look exactly like Rick when he was that age." After that, they moved on out to the pool area. They sat down as Li Fan served them drinks before dinner. They talked about the babies
