ALEX'S POVI felt so bad about doing this to Eva but I had no choice. She looked so crazed by the blood that it scared the shit out of me. I didn’t want to lose her… I didn’t want her to turn into a monster…We had set out to destroy the monsters that destroy innocent lives but had we become one ourselves? Tears pricked my eyes as I carried her to my room.  I had lost my son today and didn’t want to lose my wife too.

ALEX’S POVI calmed my frayed nerves by taking deep breaths. I felt a bit drained after fighting three vampires. So I didn’t feel that confident at present. I peeked through the keyhole. Only one man was standing at the door. I could handle that. Wait… was that man wearing velvet clothes? Did that mean he was a Golden Shifter?But, why would a Golden Shifter knock at the door, they would just come in through the window or any open space they find especially if they intended to

ALEX’S POVI took a deep breath and asked my first question, “Now that you can control your bloodlust, will you still kill humans?”“Ummm… I don’t know how effective this charm is. I will try to abstain from killing people but I can’t guarantee anything.”I tasted the energy field around him, trying to test if he was being truthful. I couldn’t sense any deceit.

EVA'S POVMaster dropped me in the hall of Dixonville and left. He had some work. I stood there like a statue. Albert's image kept reeling in my mind. That victorious smirk on his face made me feel sick.“Eva, where had you gone? Where is master?” Aaron asked me but I couldn’t say anything. Albert’s voice was still ringing in my ears. I shut my ears and ran to my room. I stepped into the shower and tried to wash off the feeling of his touch with cold water, then hot water. I even tried scalding water but there was no use.

ALEX'S POV“Damn! How could I have been so careless.” I cursed myself as I tried to sense the direction in which the Vampire must have gone. “He must not have gone very far… Shall I go and find him?” Alaric asked, getting ready to transform. “No, Alaric. He escaped due to my mistake. I will find him and bring him here. You just get them settled and come with me for a moment.” I said dragging him to a safe distance.
