EVA'S POV
Master dropped me in the hall of Dixonville and left. He had some work. I stood there like a statue. Albert's image kept reeling in my mind. That victorious smirk on his face made me feel sick.
“Eva, where had you gone? Where is master?” Aaron asked me but I couldn’t say anything. Albert’s voice was still ringing in my ears.
I shut my ears and ran to my room. I stepped into the shower and tried to wash off the feeling of his touch with cold water, then hot water. I even tried scalding water but there was no use.
THIRD PERSON’S POVThe king of the Golden Land was pacing up and down his bedroom. Damn! He had never expected Eva to come and challenge him like this. She had sowed the seed of doubt in the mind of the Golden Shifters. If he didn’t do something quickly. Everything would be lost. “Your majesty,” Albert said bowing low, as he entered the room.
ALEX'S POV“Damn! How could I have been so careless.” I cursed myself as I tried to sense the direction in which the Vampire must have gone. “He must not have gone very far… Shall I go and find him?” Alaric asked, getting ready to transform. “No, Alaric. He escaped due to my mistake. I will find him and bring him here. You just get them settled and come with me for a moment.” I said dragging him to a safe distance.
EVA’S POVI reached the waterfall quite quickly but how would I go inside the Golden Land?I wondered if I could go inside alone. I was about to plunge into the waterfall to test it when I felt like I was sucked into a vortex but this time the sensation lasted only for a few seconds. I was set on my feet on the other side of the Golden Land. The beam of light that had enclosed me drifted slowly and t
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Albert and Victoria walk to the entrance. They stood erect like a statue, gazing outside the room. This was the perfect opportunity to escape. I tugged at the chains with all my might. The chains didn’t budge even by an inch.Frustrated, I pushed the chains away forcefully. They clanked against each other, producing a deafening sound. My heart skipped a beat. I expected Albert and Victoria to return and warn me but they didn&r
My heart had turned numb by all the things I heard. I realized that darkness could be infinite just like the void in space but a single ray of light could pierce through it. I had to become that light. I had to find a way to escape and save Master too… truth be told… master was that beam of light. “What are we going to do with her?” Albert asked grinning evilly. “Just kill her. I don’t have time to waste.” The king said with a stoic expression.
EVA’S POVI blinked my eyes again and again and yet again. This was an illusion a very tricky illusion created by Albert. I didn’t know why he was doing this but I wasn’t going to fall for it. “Are you alright, Eva… please say something…” Alex’s anxious voice sounded in my ears. “Why are you doing this, Albert? Why did
ALEX’S POVI don’t know how long I sat amidst the bodies, wondering how all this had happened. One moment everything was fine and the next everything had turned into dust! A warm hand on my shoulders broke through my reverie. “Master…” I whispered as I saw him standing near me. He placed his hand over my head and I felt energy course through me. It didn’t reduce the pain in the heart just made it slightly numb. “I am going to kill Wang, Ri
ALEX’S POVI watched in wonder as Golden Shifters passed through the water and entered our cube. Once inside they transformed into their physical form and bowed to the master. The number of Golden Shifters increased factorially… Two…four…eight…Sixteen… Sixty-four…What surprised me the most was that it never felt crowded. The cube expanded with the increase in the number of Golden Shifters. When master opened his eyes about two hundred Golden Shifters had joined us. His lips stretched in a smile as he jumped to his fee
ALEX’S POV“Ahhh!!! No!! Please… Alex… ambulance…” Eva’s piercing cry woke me at the dead of the night. She was doubled over with pain."Are you alright?" I asked caressing her head."Do I look alright? Call the damned ambulance." She screamed grasping her abdomen.“F***!” I said jumping off my bed and picked up the phone. Tring…tring…tring…
EVA’S POV“Where are we going, Alex?” I asked trying to peek at the destination shown on the Google map. “Don’t cheat, Eva. Don’t ruin my surprise…” Alex said steering the car. “Alright… alright… You can at least tell me if I will like this place…” I said shrugging my shoulders.“I don’t know, Eva. It isn’t exactly the kind of place you like.”“Then, why are we going there?
ALEX’S POVI had to leave the room. I was scared I would hurt Eva if I stayed there any longer. My blood boiled when I heard Eva talking about drinking the potion. I had died a thousand deaths every day watching her life ebb slowly. Here she was, ready to risk her life in the blink of an eye. I continued walking aimlessly through the palace, then the garden, just trying to let out some steam. Suddenly my feet came to a halt. What if Eva tried to drink the potion while I was not with her.
EVA'S POV“Alex… what if I die before giving birth to our daughter? Worse… if I die after her birth…” My lips trembled as I voiced out my concern. He ran his hand over my head and said, “Don’t think like that Eva, I promise, I will not let anything happen to you…”I pursed my lips and nodded my head. I didn’t want to worry Alex anymore but I couldn’t get the words of the spirit out of my head, ‘You will die a slow painful death!’“Remember the words of the spirit, Eva. She has ble
EVA'S POVThe moment I opened my eyes, I had to shield them with my hands. I winced and said, “Ah… please draw the curtains. This light is unbearable.”Once the intensity oflight decreased I was able to open my eyes again. I tried to get up when I realized that I was in an unfamiliar room. I was still squinting as the light hurt slightly. Someone grasped my hands and made me lie down again. “Queen, you need to rest…&rd
I stared at my flat stomach in the mirror. It had been a week since the spirit had blessed me… alright… cursed me too but Alex and I had decided to focus only on the blessing part. “Wondering if you are pregnant?” Alex whispered as he hugged me from behind, softly nibbling my ears. “This wait is driving me crazy, Alex… when do you think I would get pregnant…”“I don’t know about that but we can try to increase our chances you know…” When I caught the naughty glint in his eyes my face heated and lowered my
EVA'S POVThe queasy feeling subsided after all the drink was out of my system. I heaved a sigh of relief and sat on the throne. My eyes flitted to Alex and the other Golden Shiffters gazing at me with worry. Damn! Why was this giving me a headache?“Are you alright, Eva?” Alex said, placing his hand on my head and projecting some energy into me. “Yeah… I am good… I think the glasses got interchanged and I drank Soma instead of blood… by the way, where is Victoria. Is she alright?”“I think she went to her room, Quee
THIRD PERSON’S POVCheerful chatter filled the Dining hall as everyone gathered in the hall. Every once in a while there would be silence when a pang of grief hit someone but they tried their best to keep up the lively atmosphere. “I have to say that Queen Eva has a very large heart…I mean I have never known anyone who can forgive someone who tried to steal their husband…”“True… She not only forgave her but she is accepting Victoria’s daughter as her Godchild….”“Hmmm…. But I am a bit scare
ALEX'S POV“Eva, I can’t believe a week has passed without any mishaps..” I said hugging Eva from the back. “Hmmm… everyone is still depressed. It tears me apart to see them lamenting and brooding. We have to do something, Alex…”She was right. We couldn’t continue to spend our entire life buried under layers of sorrow and darkness. It would defeat the purpose of our existence. “Eva, I think I know what to do…”&ldq
