The officer gave Roxanne a cold stare, emphasizing every word. "Roxanne Walker, we've got proof you lied that night. You're coming with us to help with the investigation."

Roxanne's face went pale.

She quickly stepped back, hiding behind Hunter as she yelled, "I didn't lie! Her son ran into my motorcycle! What does that have to do with me? You can't accuse me of something I didn't do!"

Maeve slipped her hand behind her back and quietly dialed Trevor's number.

Then, she faced the officer. "Roxy was just trying to help by taking Cyril to the hospital, but Whitney turned it all on Roxy. And now she's here, stirring up trouble in our place…"

"What?" I lifted my hand, ready to slap her for twisting the truth.

But Hunter grabbed my arm and yanked me aside with a growl. "What do you think you're doing? Listen, you'd better cut it out! Roxy's my only daughter, and you're not going to get her to confess!"

I sneered, staring right at Hunter as I put extra weight on every word. "My husband
