Chapter 7

Soon I finished exploring the campsite but found nothing unusual.

"David, check the mountain foot you mentioned," a voice came through my earpiece.

I nodded slightly and left the campsite, heading toward the dark mountainside.

Occasional animal calls and rustling leaves made me shrink my neck, but thinking of Aaron's tragic death gave me courage to continue.

Suddenly, a bright light shone in my face.

I closed my eyes and raised my hand to block it.

"Stop!" Several burly men appeared before me.

The same ones who had stopped me a month ago.

"You again? Didn't we tell you this is private property? No trespassing!"

One of them glared at me menacingly.

His stare made me nervous.

"I... I'm looking for the bathroom," I mumbled.

"There are bathrooms down there! Who are you really? What are you doing here?" The man approached me, ready to strike.

"Help me!” I screamed in fear.

The man immediately looked around, frowning.

But the darkness was complete, without a sound.
