Chapter 5

Worried about Aaron’s safety, I finally called the police. They took his missing person case and said they'd contact me if they found anything, telling me to go home for now.

There wasn't much I could do at the police station, so I had no choice but to wait at home.

One day passed, then two, then three, but still no word about Aaron.

I was starting to lose hope.

Finally, after a month, the police called and asked me to come to the station, saying they had news about Aaron.

I rushed there immediately. But when I arrived, what I saw was a severely decomposed, bloated, pale corpse.

"Ugh!" The sight made me grab the nearest trash can and throw up. I kept retching until there was nothing left but bile before shakily getting to my feet.

"Is... is this Aaron?” I asked the officer, trembling as I grabbed his arm.

The officer nodded slowly. "DNA testing confirmed it's him. According to the medical examiner's report, he died over a month ago, just days before you reported him missing
