Chapter 5

There was a storm raging outside. I would definitely die if Jason threw me out.

I kept pleading with him. I had done so much for the York family over the last ten years. I thought he would at least show me some mercy.

Unfortunately, he remained ruthless and merciless.

He seemed to have forgotten that I was just a normal woman. I wasn't some divine being. I had been drugged, had a fever, and my limbs were broken. I definitely wouldn't survive the storm in this state.

"Get up!" Jason pulled the white sheet off my body, exposing my bloody corpse.

He gagged and was clearly disgusted, but forcefully regained his composure when he saw the servants looking at him. "Stop playing dead! Do you think this will make me forgive you? Jean needs food. Get up and make something for her now!"

My body shouldn't be so battered, even if it had been wedged in a crevice.

I stared at my corpse and fell into deep thought.

When the corpse did not answer Jason, the air turned cold suddenly.
