I picked up my bag and took out my phone. "I'm calling the police!"

Knowing that Zane would try to stop me, I sat on the far edge of the seat, ready to jump out of the car at any moment's notice.

However, he remained motionless. "You can call the police. It's your right. However, I want you to think about this carefully. What do you plan to do after you call the cops?"

"I want a divorce because you're abusing me. On those grounds, you're not getting anything in the divorce!"

"Oh, really?" He grinned slyly, raising his left arm. "You slashed my arm, so how am I the one abusing you?"

I yelled furiously, "You hit me first!"

"You stabbed me first!" He chuckled. "Law enforcement can't resolve family disputes. Are you sure you can convince the police?"

At that moment, I learned how shameless Zane could be!

It was true. He and I both had light injuries. When the time came, it would be hard to justify who was at fault.
