Episode 4

I arose from my slumber the following morning. Lola was getting dressed for class when I noticed that she was limping.

"Hey! Did you hurt yourself?". I asked her and pointed at the exact leg.

"Yeah! I hit my legs on my way out of the bathroom, but don't worry, I'll be fine".

She turned, picked up the comb on the table and brushed her hair...

I still had a few hours for classes to begin.

I came down from my bed, grabbed my towel and went straight to the bathroom.

I scrubbed my entire body and emerged with a towel wrapped around my waist.

Lola left me alone and headed to class.

I opened my luggage and took out some of the clothes that mom got for me, during my one-week stay with her.

She practically begged me to take them along with me and this should sound strange, but I have this strange urge to dress like a proper lady, it's not like I don't do that, I never want to put any effort into getting myself dressed.

"Miss Ava! You're late".

Mrs. Tori, the Illusory class teacher, sanctioned me immediately after I arrived at class.

I remained silent and dashed to the chair next to Lola.

Everyone was asked to pick partners, and who else to become my partner but my roommate and my best friend...

Mrs. Tori, reduced the lights in the class and everyone where asked to wear their blindfolds...

I was a bit sceptical about putting on my blindfolds, one, I don't like darkness and the other one, I felt something wrong might happen...

"Take my hand". Lola reached out to me with an outstretched hand.

" Thanks" I took her hand in mine.

Sooner after, we were both taken into a chamber.

We were all there, except for Mrs. Tori.

But we could still hear her voice as she spoke with us.

"Okay class, capture the flag and don't forget, there are monsters around".

She gave the instructions and everything became still...

Lola and I both walked into the narrow path of the chambers, the rest of the students scattered, as we attempted to find the flag.

"Look over there and I'll look here". Lola gave me instructions in the chamber room.

I searched for the flag everywhere and there was not a sign of it, most of the students were getting exhausted as I was too but I remained steadfast, I needed to find the flag before anyone did, and the winner of today's class would be given two tickets to see my favourite singer " the harmony" an all-male boy group which I am crazy about.

Lola and I continued with the search, and as we slaved ourselves attempting to find the flag, I got the hunch to check outside the chambers.

And so, I grabbed Lola's hand and asked her to come with me, she was still certain that the flag was going to be inside, however, I had a different hunch.

We came outside the chambers of the old Carven and sitting on the head of one of the stone grome was the flag.

"Damn! You're smart".

Lola complimented me as she began to climb up to get the flag on the head of the stone

She succeeded in collecting the flag and just as she turned to throw it down to me, she instantly froze, her hands were unable to let go of the flag.

"Hey, what happened? Throw it down!?". I jumped as high enough, trying to make her throw the flag down, but she still kept mute.

"Lola! Throw it to me? What happened to you?".

I yelled, and she slowly turned, gesturing towards my back. I turned slowly, and my heart raced as I confronted a terrifying two-headed monster beast. Its sharp claws gleamed in the light, and its wide teeth seemed to be dripping with saliva. I froze, my eyes fixed on the monstrous creature, unsure of what to do next.

"Ava! Run!!".

At the sound of my roommate's voice, I ran for the hills, I should've gone back into the chambers but with the rest of my classmates in there, it was going to be a blood bath.

The monster chased me.

I could hear his growling from behind.

Lola managed to make up with me, werewolf speed, and I turned dotting her for any suggestions that could aid us out of the predicament and to safety.

Lola grabbed stones and threw them at the monster, she thought it would yield results but it made it angrier.

"Shoot!! I'm out of ideas, do you have any good ones we can try?".

We kept on running as she asked me...

I looked at the place we were, and it was just trees and boulders, which of course Lola tried and it made the monster angrier.

I completely ran out of ideas, but just as we passed a Caven with a two-headed monster moulded on the front, it was rather obvious that he had been conjured by the same Mrs Rita.

I stopped running and faced the monster.

"Ava! Do you want to die? " Lola stopped a bit further away from me. She was still holding the flag In her hand and no matter what she wouldn't want to let it go.

"Hey ! No matter what happens, don't try to me, okay?".

I relaxed my nerves as I spoke with her.

The monster's teeth were pouring out saliva, and the moment it engaged to attack, I shifted and it fell into his Carven and was instantly turned to stone.

"Whoa! How did you know?".

Lola finally found the courage to move forward.

"It's my superpowers". I wiggled my eyebrows and smiled.

"Really? Fine! Let's go back and inform the others we have the flag ".

Lola went ahead and after delaying for some time I followed her back to meet the others...

"We have the flag!!?".

Lola's blood-curdling scream echoed through the air, causing every head to turn in our direction. The tension was palpable, and I could sense that some individuals were itching to snatch the flag from our grasp. But just as things were about to get out of hand, we were abruptly pulled back to the real world, escaping the chaos and danger that had been unfolding.
