Grayson’s POV

“In my defense...” I trail off, running a hand through my hair, trying to collect my thoughts. Sammi had completely made me forget about where we were and who else was in the house. Zade stands there, just staring at me. His expression is a mix of shock and disgust, his eyes wide, as if he’s struggling to believe what he just witnessed.

My mouth opens again, but no words come out. What can I say? I didn’t expect anyone to come in. It’s late. Everyone was supposed to be asleep.

“Fuck, I feel sick,” Zade mutters, stumbling to grab a glass from the counter. He fills it with whiskey and downs it in one go, like he’s trying to wash away the image burned into his brain.

I can’t help it. A chuckle escapes me. “It’s not that bad.”

Zade glares at me, his eyes narrowing. “Oh, is it not? Let me go get your sister so you can see how it feels.” His voice is laced with mockery, and I can’t help but cringe at the thought. Yeah, okay, he has a point.
