WE NEED TO TALK

STEPHANIE'S POV:

Diamond had such a healthy glow after our breakup that even I didn't recognise him at first. It had been years since he disappeared after our breakup, and his sudden appearance surprised me.

I was extremely shocked to see Diamond; in fact, I never imagined we would ever cross paths again after what happened between us. I was stunned to find out my ex was the groom's son and ring bearer. How come Diamond is here after his disappearance? Why exactly is he here, and why would he agree to his father marrying my mom? I have to find out.

I watched as he opened the wedding ring box and offered the ring to Logan. I still find it hard to believe what my eyes are seeing. Was I dreaming? How could Diamond be Logan's son, and I never knew? Diamond never mentioned his father to me, nor did he introduce me to him. At least mom could have told me he had a son. I could have looked into it.

Logan took the ring from the box before Diamond stepped back and glanced at me with his charming emerald eyes. I quickly looked away to avoid meeting his gaze. He still had his charm, I see. Like a father, like a son. Last time I saw him, he didn't look as incredibly attractive and stylish as he does now. His glow-up is indeed very impressive. Wealth really does change people.

"Say after me, Logan," the pastor said, pulling me out of my thoughts. I needed to focus on the wedding first before dealing with Diamond. I reassured myself and glanced up at him. He was smirking at me with a devilish grin, while his mischievous gaze lingered at me in admiration. Some things never change.

"'I give you this ring as a token and pledge of our constant faith and abiding love,'" Logan echoed after the pastor, placing the ring on my mom's finger.

I wondered why Diamond was here, besides being the groomsman. He must have known his father was dating my mom and allowed this to happen, perhaps to get back at me or to get closer to me. I pondered over his motives.

"The ring, Stephanie." I heard my mom's voice, snapping me out of my contemplation once again.

"Oh!" I exclaimed, quickly retrieving the ring box from my small waist purse and opening it for my mom.

"What's wrong with you? You're acting so strange all of a sudden," my mom whispered to me as she took the ring, and I simply smiled at her.

My mom repeated the same statement Logan had made as she placed the ring on his finger.

"You two should join hands," the pastor said. My mom offered me her bridal bouquet to hold before they did. As they held each other's hands, they gazed into each other's eyes. I don't know about Logan, but I could tell my mom was looking at him with eyes full of love and passion.

Turning to the guests, the pastor continued, "If anyone objects to this marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace." No one objected to their union.

"By virtue of the authority vested in me under the laws of the State of Florida, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the pastor declared, turning to Logan. "You may now kiss your bride.”

Logan lifted my mom's veil, slowly revealing her face. He smiled as he locked eyes with her, filling my mom with joy. She smiled back at him, gazing at the incredibly hot, handsome man she was about to marry. She knew she was fortunate to have him; others might envy her, but certainly not me. Well, I can't deny that. Of course, I do envy her, but I'm glad she's happy with him. She's never been this happy since my father left our lives.

Staring into my mom's eyes, Logan tenderly cupped her face with both hands. He lowered his face onto hers, pressing his lips against hers and sealing their vows with a deep, passionate kiss with his tongue intertwining with hers. My mom eagerly responded to his kiss, and witnessing it all in front of me made me feel conflicted-disgusted yet oddly thrilled.

A shiver ran down my spine as Logan gently grazed my mom's lower lip with his teeth as they slowly disengaged from the kiss. That was fucking hot, and I could feel myself blushing already.

The crowd roared as they rose from their seats, applauding enthusiastically. The photographer swiftly moved in to capture the moment, their cameras flashing from different angles. I smiled sweetly at the camera while stealing a glance at Diamond, who remained standing nearby. Even without smiling, he still looks good for the camera.

"It is my great honour and happy privilege to introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. Logan and Jessica Knight! Let's congratulate them with a round of applause!" The pastor announced after the kiss, and the crowd continued to cheer louder, showering the newlyweds with applause and flowers at the altar.

My mother was overjoyed; she smiled broadly and even laughed as she faced the crowd, while Logan maintained a casual, composed expression. I wondered if he wanted this wedding at all.

I handed my mom her bouquet of flowers, and she held them with tears in her eyes. She hugged me tightly, and I returned the embrace, patting her back. "Take it easy now, mom; I'm very happy for you."

“Really?" she asked unbelievably. I know I was against the wedding earlier, but my mom's happiness really matters deeply to me now. At least for the time being, they'll have to leave the house for me and go on their honeymoon to go fuck however they want. I don't really care. I guess.

"Yes," I responded honestly.

The photographer snapped pictures of me, my mom, her husband, and then my ex, Diamond, capturing all of us at the altar.

Logan held my mom's hand and gently led her outside the church to take more pictures with invited guests and family. I noticed that neither of the Knight families showed up—only Logan and his son, who turned out to be my ex. I wouldn't be worried about it if Diamond hadn't attended the wedding, so I find all this suspicious.

My mom threw her bridal bouquet, and one of the guests eagerly jumped up to catch it. She screamed in excitement when she grabbed it, and I noticed the disappointed look on my mom's face. I knew she had hoped I would be the one to catch the bouquet, but I'm not ready for that now, nor am I ready to get married or even plan for it yet. There are a lot of responsibilities involved in that, which I'm not ready to take. Whatever it is, I don't really care.

I was just taking wedding pictures with my mom and grandpa when Diamond joined us without my notice. Out of nowhere, he whispered into my ear, "You should have caught that bouquet, so I could have a 99% chance of marrying you." I felt my whole body vibrate, and my nipples painfully hardened the instant as I heard his voice. I just realised I could easily get sexually active after the encounter Logan had with my mother.

I quickly snapped out of my trance and said, "We need to talk," while grabbing Diamond's wrist and pulling him behind the church where no one would see us.
