Chapter 8: Protecting the Queen

Ezra was the only black-haired wolf in the tribe. William's family swore allegiance to the queen. They are a family that has a great influence on the Wolf clan, they are protectors and at the same time are considered to be the co-rulers of the Wolf Queen.

Selina since becoming aware of the world around her has had Ezra befriended by her side. He is a friend and brother whom she trusts wholeheartedly.

William's family died in that battle with Selina's parents, so it can be said that Ezra and Selina both share the same enemy.

Her first friend Ezra also did not agree to let Selina leave the clan for the human world but since Ezra was used to pampering her, she could only nod her head in agreement to help her.

“Selina, when are you coming back?”

The first question Ezra asked was not why that group of people was hunting Selina but when she would return.

Selina was leaning against Ezra with her eyes closed. Now she didn't need to disguise herself with Jenna Marie's face anymore. Because she always felt very comfortable around Ezra.

  Selina relaxed and slightly raised her beautiful eyelids in reply.

"When will you find the enemy that killed your parents?"

Even knowing that the answer was the same as when Selina left, Ezra still wanted to ask. The words he should have said before she left, if his advice worked, she would not be in the human world as she is now but in the castle reserved for the Queen.

 Unable to change Selina's mind, Ezra just wanted her to be safe and sound.

Selina saw that Ezra did not speak anymore. She knew she had made Ezra sad, but she could not do anything else.

“Ezra, don't be angry. I thought it was fine if you went to the human world to test it.”

“This is completely different.”

Ezra turned his head to look into Selina's eyes, and he wanted her to know that the human world was not as simple as she had thought.

“Do you know how much danger you will face yourself?”

Since Ezra was the one who took care of Selina growing up every day, more than anyone else, he hoped that she would always be peaceful and favorable to be crowned Queen Wolf.

Selina's face didn't show any anger at this moment because of Ezra's somewhat disrespectful questioning.

"I know"

"Then why do you persist?"

Love is a feeling that is very difficult to hide, especially when you look at the person you love stubbornly wanting to enter a dangerous place. Ezra is no exception, and he admits that he loves Selina, but because he doesn't want her to be distant from him, he wants to wait for her to realize that feeling.

"I can't just keep quiet and ignore the organization that killed my parents."

"King Rory and Queen Hypatia both don't want you to go to dangerous places because of them."

Selina knew that if she continued talking, she would hurt Ezra, but she still wanted to make it clear to him.

"I don't want to be a coward, and I can't be afraid to hide behind the wolves' backs."

Ezra felt very angry when he heard Selina's words and suddenly scratched the tree trunk to his right.

Selina's heart also ached slightly; she stood up and looked at Ezra from above.

“Everything in the Wolf clan I ask you to handle. I thank you very much.”

Selina didn't wait for Ezra to react and used Wolf's speed to leave. If she stayed by Ezra's side, things would only get worse because no matter what she said, she would only hurt him.

Windy and Nolan are now transformed into Wolves because they know their leader Ezra William hates human forms.

The entire Wolf race rarely transforms into humans because they always think of their pure Wolf blood as noble blood. Being born in the form of a Wolf is a great honor of God.

As Ezra remained silent and didn't say anything, and Queen Selina was nowhere to be seen, they also somewhat understood the situation. Nolan went to an old tree not far from Ezra and relaxed and rested.

Windy also went to the tree, he found it strange that Nolan was so relaxed.

"Why don't we call the leader back?"

“You see how many blows you can take from the leader.”

Windy shivered involuntarily, and he was a little scared when he remembered the leader's training with them.

Ezra has no mercy; Windy and Nolan are Wolves who are among the elite wolves of the clan that also have to raise their hands in surrender.

"Can't stand the tenth blow."

Nolan chuckled inwardly, lowering his voice so only the two could hear.

"If you go to call now, the leader will take you out for a month's private training."

Windy heard that his heart jumped. If what Nolan said is true, then this life of him is considered giving up.

Nolan proved himself to be a longtime love expert who spoke up and taught Windy his own experience.

“Leader Ezra has always claimed to be a close friend of the Queen's bodyguard to everyone. But everyone in the clan knew that the leader had feelings for the Queen. From my many years of love experience, I can see that the leader just argued with the Queen. If anyone is stupid to jump in now, there will be consequences."

Windy turned her head to look at Ezra.

Suddenly Ezra turned her head to look at Nolan and Windy. Their eyes met, and a cold feeling in the bones scared Windy to stand still.

"Go hunting!"

Nolan sighed softly; he knew sooner or later he and Windy would be unable to avoid it, so he was prepared mentally in advance.

Hunting was widespread for the Wolf, but when talk came out of Ezra's mouth, it had a very different meaning.

“Dm!”

Windy felt scared when he had to hunt with Ezra; he involuntarily cursed. Since hunting with Ezra was very risky and laborious, it was not according to standard rules but special training. The prey they caught must not die; it must be alive. The prey they just caught will not be kept but must be released, and they have to track down the prey they have just seen. And that will repeat many times until Ezra stops.
