Future Plans

Debbie calls Jack and transfers him to Abby’s department. ‘Ms. D’Souza will train you in two months. I will double your salary Jack. Just follow my orders. This is just between us.’ Next day Abby was surprise when Debbie and Jack walk in. Debbie brief Abby about the new internal shifting. Abby is contemplating. Does she have plans to kick me soon? Abby and Jack did their best to run the department well. In a span of time Jack learn many techniques. This gives Abby more time to concentrate on growing her pub.

Now the love fiery shots are starting to shoot Abby.  Debbie instructs Steven and offer again to Abby the acid test. Steven met Abby again for the offer.  Abby refused the offer. ‘I’m loyal to my company, as long as the owner wants me to stay - I will stay. If she doesn’t need anymore, that’s the time I have to think of another option. For now I’m very much satisfied with my job.’

All the more, Debbie misses Abby. She admires her; whatever test she throws to her, she passes all of them.

March 2016.  Abby hasn’t stop sending greeting cards and flowers to Debbie. The whole month was silent between Abby and Debbie. They seldom talk.  Debbie is on her two weeks’ vacation.  She spent her time at Home Farm; preparing thing for its re-branding.

April passes by. Abby knows that it’s Debbie’s birthday. Abby hires somebody to call Debbie for a meet up the 15^th. He will disclose her secret admirer at OneBar around 6pm. Debbie went but unfortunately no one came.  It was good that she saw Sarah and Jack that evening at the bar. She approaches them. The two smiles and voice out that they’re to get freebies plus the cash.

 “Uh, lucky for the both of y you; with me I’m fed up with my so-called admirer. Someone called that tonight he will disclose to me my secret admirer but it’s an hour now; no one showed up.” This is so tiring and disgusting,’ Debbie was extremely upset.

A waiter come and gets the big gift box under their table. It’s a white box address to Debbie. Notes were there, I love you Debbie Montejar.  Will you accept my love?

The trio was surprise.  Jack said open the box and see what’s in there. Inside were a medium box and another small box. She saw a beautiful diamond ring with a note.  “One day you will meet me when the time is right. But for now, please keep this ring as my birthday gift for you -Love, your secret admirer.”

Nobody knows its Debbie’s birthday (April 16).  Abby take off and surprises Debbie. In the afternoon, she went to Debbie’s office and request for a lunch out.  

So the pair went to OneBar. Debby notices that there’s a soft opening for Debby’s Bar and Resto.

Abby acted like a normal customer. ‘Madam Debbie order what you like and don’t worry it’s my treat.’ A musical band is serenading them.

Without Debbie’s knowledge, Abby invited Sarah and Jack along with Jenny. Sarah and the gang start eating. Abby gentle grab the microphone and began talking. ‘Actually this is an exclusive birthday celebration. Today, my cute boss is our guess. I want this day to be very special. Actually, I need some raise. (Laughing) I’m planning to get married soon. So I need much money for that. I love my girlfriend so much to marry her soon. But meantime for today, I want to say thank you to a very dear woman in my life, my beautiful boss - Debbie. Let me sing a song for her.’

After her, she requests the band to play the Birthday song.

Abby facing the group; ‘To my three buddies here, could you send your greetings to our celebrant please? Therefore, Sarah and the rest express their greetings.

Jenny plays Ukulele song for Debbie. 

Abby’s voice to Debbie, ‘You turn my life upside down. Should I say that your mindless prayers may have work well? You made me a stronger person. I thank you for giving me the chance to work with you and for you. Please accept my humble gifts.’

 PowerPoint flashes on screen with Debbie’s photos - the flowers, the cards, Alexis in the bar, the courtship ring.

When Debbie saw everything she cried. Abby facing her, ‘You made me who I am today. Will you be my girl?’ Debbie to hers – ‘Ms. ADS… Abigail D Souza; yes I am official yours now.’ They hug and kiss.

The staff is getting ready for the cutting of ribbon. People starts coming - the photo and videographers and some mall tenants.

Abby went on the stage and took Debbie with her. ‘Are all the VIP’s here? Now - it is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the soft opening of Debbie’s BR.  Ms. Debbie, please can you grace this occasion by cutting the ribbon?’

Debbie was still in shock. She has headache. After the event, she request Abby to drive her home with Jenny.

Two days after, Debbie didn’t go to office. She took time to rest and absorbs everything that took place. She request Abby not to disturb her for two days. Abby respects her decision.

As Debbie resume’s office; she calls her. ‘How are you? Abby said. ‘Do you want to see a doctor, I can bring you there? Debbie politely said, ‘I am fine. Don’t worry.

Debbie took the small box with the courtship ring. She gave it to Abby. ‘Why, have you changed your mind? I have given you this as my advance gift.’ Debby sat opposite to Abby and smiles, ’Would it be more romantic if you will put this ring over my finger? Abby did place the ring to her left finger. ‘Thank you Abby. I am in total shock until now. It’s all mix emotions. I am so overwhelm.’ Abby embrace Debbie.

After two days, Abby took Debbie to the restaurant.  Debbie notice her photos are on the Bulletin Board and Welcome Notes are under her signatory. “Debby you are the owner of this bar and restaurant,” Abby smilingly whispers. Debbie doesn’t believe her statement.  Abby smile and tells the waiter to get the DBR papers. She hand the envelope to her. Debbie learns that she was the co-owner and her partner is Abigail D’ Souza. Debbie exclaims, ‘Why’d you made me as co-owner?’

Abby voice, ‘It’s simple. Debbie. I love you. I commit to take care of you and I want to build my future with you. Whatever is mine is yours too. It’s a long story and it may exhaust you again.’  ‘No Abby, I’m ready to hear, Debbie added with a smile.

Abby starts narrating. I like you since the day you’d whispered to my ears. When I realized that I really love you, I committed myself to work out something for me and for my soon to be partner. So, I decide to look for a part time job. In the evenings, I work hard.  I happen to apply to this bar. I was lucky to meet Micheal an old man who actually owns this whole place.

Michael was looking for a new owner. Since I’m not sure how far my income will be, I invest my salary to OneBar. From my part time job, I put all my income and bought half of the bar. I negotiate with him, promise him that I’ll manage half of his property and then give him still 10% monthly profit.

Michael was kind enough to believe in me, he said to me - take your time to pay in the other half there is no rush. In fact even if you can’t pay in full the other half - as long as I will him 10% profit, it’s enough for him. Michael transferred the whole ownership Abby as a sign of good will.

Debbie has figure out that she was madly in love with Abby. Their love grows over time.
