Mae woke up early, as expected of her. Well, she just got lucky yesterday and got a date with June. Oh well, thanks to Emma, she might say. She smiled as she remembered that time.
Knock, knock.
Her daydreaming stopped after she heard the noise from the outside.
"Yeah?" she answered and walked towards the door.
"Mae! It’s me. Are you going for breakfast?" She could hear Ivy’s voice from the outside. She's probably with Emma.
She responded by lowering her body onto the bed as if cleaning it. "No thanks, I'll catch up with you guys later. I'm still doing my bedsheets, "she answered.
She could hear the slight pause from the outside before she heard their footsteps moving away.
"Fine, get it done earlier, okay? We’ll wait for you, "Ivy said, then walked away.
"Thanks!"
She sighed as she realized that they were now gone.
"Sheshh," she said, looking at her breast. She’s not wearing anything on top aside from her bra. She could see how big it was. She just woke up like this and is still not in the mood to get out of her room, so she told them that she'd catch up later.
"I wonder if he’s still lying on his bed," she asked herself while looking at the ceiling and thinking about June. After what happened last time, she realized how much he loved to stay alone in his room. Unlike her, June is an introverted person. Well, it's pretty obvious, but she saw it herself. He might be conceited sometimes, but he's a good guy.
That’s what runs through Mae’s mind. She’s totally in love with this guy for this very reason. It took her half an hour before she could lift her back off the bed and get out of the room.
While walking through the hallways, she accidentally bumped into someone. She didn’t expect who it was until they looked at each other. She could feel the blood rushing into her face that made her cheeks red.
"Ohhhh," One guy suddenly appeared at the back of June while his mouth was wide open and forming a big "O" as if witnessing something crazier. Because of embarrassment, Mae excused herself and went the other way.
"Ohh, so... what was that? Is there something like... a lover’s quarrel going on here? " Kanaye teased June as he saw how June looked at Mae's back while walking away. June rolled his eyes and began walking again to the other path that Mae took.
"Tsk, whatever," he said, then licked his lips. He usually has dry lips. Maybe that’s why.
The class starts at exactly 9 in the morning. Every student is now talking to their seatmate as if that's the first thing they should do when they enter the room. A group of guys keeps laughing and teasing each other while constantly looking at the other group of girls.
Others seem to enjoy talking to one another, while others are simply waiting for Mr. Rayven to arrive. Just like Raia.
Unlike yesterday and the other day, he looks like he has already calmed down himself. Maybe that is because of what he did last night.
He went inside his room yesterday, as soon as the class ended. He immediately closed the door and changed his clothes. After that, he got the courage to walk toward June's room to talk to him. As expected, June said he didn't know what he was talking about. That leaves Raia no choice but to go back to his room.
Not until after midnight, when he heard a knock at his door.
"Mr. Raia?" he heard Mr. Rayven outside his door. He was still hesitant about whether he would open the door or not. But in the end, he acted as if there was nothing wrong.
But as soon as he opened the door, he already smelled a strange perfume.
"Mr. Rayven," the instructor greeted him while covering his mouth. There, he saw his instructor covering his mouth completely as if trying not to smell a bit of that perfume.
Raia immediately understood what it meant when he saw his dark red eyes of Rayven. He was about to close the door, but it was already too late. It was only a matter of seconds when a loud noise was heard after his body fell to the ground.
Rayven caught his head and lifted it slightly, trying not to make any more unnecessary noise.
"Oppsss,"
After a second, Rayven removed the handkerchief covering his nose and looked at Raia, who was now in his hands.
He smiled.
But if one looked at that smile, one could easily sense danger. He only used a slight portion of his strength to put Raia back in his bed. He even looked around the room.
"Hmm... it's a good thing I did this earlier before it's too late," Mr. Rayven said to himself when he saw a chart beside the table where Raia was studying.
There, he saw some details that he might have heard from the conversation last time. Some of the words written there are farm, shipment, high-quality goods, and customer.
Mr. Rayven clenched his fist when he realized that it was the same words he used before Raia went into his room that time. He knew someone was eavesdropping on his conversation with Mr. A at that time. And he's not mistaken. It was Raia.
But he doesn't need to worry about that right now. He used a special scent that was usually used for their ritual. It was called Tonique de Meilleure. It came from France years ago and was used to disrupt someone's memory. Using this potion is not that great since there might be a chance that something might trigger their memory to recover.
It means it will not totally make someone forget about something forever, but instead, it will make you forget about a certain thing temporarily.
But Mr. Rayven had no worries. Just like he said, he did this thing right on time. It will only take a day before Raia's shipment arrives. And it will happen all according to his plan.
After that, he slowly walked away and carefully closed the door to avoid making any noise.
Back to the present, Raia, who is now looking at the front, is just simply observing the people around him. Until Mr. Rayven arrived and took a look at him. He could feel a strange look from the instructor, which made him a bit embarrassed.
"Good day everyone," he greeted the students, which slightly lessened the sounds inside the room.
"So today we will have an activity. As you know, everything we do inside the university is quite different from what we do outside...what I mean is the normal classes, " he introduced first before he leaned on the table.
"This is known as the best amateur game here at Hyakku University," he added and looked at his students.
Each and every one of them seem excited and curious about what he's talking about. Even June, for the first time, looked at Mr. Rayven, listening carefully to his next words.
"It's called BloodyCookie," he said, making the room quiet.
After a second, a burst of laughter filled the room.
"Hahaha, what is that? Do you think we're kids? Putting up nonsense like that? Haha," someone burst out while laughing.
Even the other students can't stop themselves from laughing because of that. BloodyCookie was a popular online game before. It is where you will find a cookie in a certain place. But it needs you to survive several questions and answer them through the doors.
Indeed, it's an old game for children. That's why others can't help themselves but laugh at Rayven. While others felt disgusted and insulted, thinking 'what are we to you, a joke? Playing something so simple like that?'.
But Mr. Rayven wasn't moved by hearing those laughs. And to be honest, he expected that kind of reaction. Besides, it's not the kind of game that a college student will play. But it does not matter; it's not a simple BloodyCookie game after all.
"Now, now," he said as he walked back to the desk and sat in his chair. He put his hands below his chin while his elbows were on the table. "Here me out first," he added.
"A simple game, isn't it?" he asked them. Others nodded, while others felt something more than that.
"But what if I told you, it might determine your place and whether you could go to the next level or not?"
The whole class went into silence as they heard about it. It's a bit tempting, especially for those who want to get out of this building and join Fletcher to the next level, or so they thought.
Some students look at their friends as if they are communicating without words. This might indeed be their chance to pass an exam and move forward. Besides, they don't know if the next test will be this easy again or as easy as the first test.
After that announcement, Mr. Rayven told them how the game works. Unlike in online games, the BloodyCookie Hyakku University version will work with a partner. It means both of them will need greater concentration and balance to pass the test. They might be allies, but they might also be enemies in the end.
Choosing someone by themselves might ruin their friendship. And Mr. Rayven doesn't want that to happen. He wants his students to stay happy and healthy until the end. That's why Mr. Rayven is the one who chooses who will be the partner of whom.
He smiled when he passed the names of their partners. Every student is busy looking at the paper to know who will be their partner.
And the last thing he saw was Raia, who was innocently looking at the paper. Mr. Rayven put Raia in charge of being partnered with Osamu, the known prodigy.
"I wonder how a nerd-looking guy like Raia will work together with Osamu, the prodigy... it's gonna be exciting," he said inside his head and smirked while looking at his students.
Hellooo!! Recently, I saw that there are 2 to 3 stable reads I'm receiving every time I update this story. If you're one of them, or if you're one of those who are waiting for this update, don't hesitate to comment and give some feedbacks. It's highly appreciated. Thank you very much guyss!!
[Raia's POV] The class ended so fast after that announcement. As usual, we need to talk to our partner about what we need to do. I slowly looked at the guy at the back. He's still as intimidating as ever. Geez, how could I ever talk to him like that? I sighed, then continued arranging my things inside my bag. I was about to stand up when I heard Mr. Rayven, who's now standing beside me. "Mr. Raia," "Y-yes, sir," I said. I was actually shocked at first and didn't know how to reply. I'm not a social type of person. I could not even make friends since middle school, and it's pretty obvious that I had never talked to a teacher in this way. That's why it's awkward for me to talk to him personally. "Are you okay? I hope you're okay after what happened last time," he said to me while smiling. Last night? Did something happen last night? I looked at him confused. But just like him, he seems confused too. "Ahh, I think you forgot... I saw you yesterday at the library, right? What I me
The room was filled with the sounds of students who were busy chatting with their friends. Raia, who is now at the front of the door, looked around the room until he saw Osamu looking at him. "Raia!!" Osamu called him while wearing his big smile. Others looked at Osamu as if it was their first time hearing him talk to someone. Raia shyly walked toward him. Some of his classmates looked at him too, but he decided to ignore those stares. "I called you earlier at your door, but it appears you're still sleeping," Osamu began as they sat in their chairs. They are sitting across from each other, with Osamu at the back. "Ahh yeah, I didn't hear the alarm, that's why I woke up late," he answered, then put his bag on his side. They waited for a moment before their instructor arrived. It only took several minutes before the activity started. The students assemble in the big and wide gymnasium inside the building. It was located between the dormitory and the research room. Every student, as
With a single blow from his whistle, Mr. Rayven starts the game. The students, who were just standing in front of the door, walked inside. June and Amelia walked side by side, still observing the others. While Kanaye, who seemed a bit worried, walked behind Aki. He looked like a scared cat who was trying to hide. "Kanaye?" With just one call, he immediately went in front of Aki, as if he hadn't been hiding a while ago. "Yeah?" he asked, then he saw her looking at the right side. He slightly looked in that direction and saw the surroundings. Inside the room, there are different rooms. Other students stand before the door as if waiting for it to open. "Hmm, I think we should pick our own door too." Aki concluded, and without his consent, she walked straight to the door in front of her. "Ah-w-wait!" he said and slightly ran after her. Meanwhile, June and Amelia walked toward the other door. Ever since they entered the room, no one bothered to talk between them. They stand before it,
While Amelia was reading the next question, June suddenly felt bored. It’s almost 15 minutes after his partner went inside that room, and yet, they are still on the second question. "Just how hard could those questions be?" he asked himself while both of his arms crossed each other. He slowly looked at the ceiling as he thought of Kanaye. 'Maybe there won’t be any problems, wouldn't they? I think he should be okay. He was with Aki anyway,' he said to himself and looked down again. The other students, like them, are preoccupied with solving the riddles. Others think that this was the most difficult thing for them to solve because all of the questions required them to think outside the box. While others think that this game was a piece of cake, well, at least for someone who was known as being a prodigy. Raia just looked at Osamu as he continuously answered 4 consecutive riddle puzzles. Both of them decided that Osamu would take the easy and difficult levels while Raia would be part
Almost all of the students finally finished the easy level. Ryota, who seemed tired, sat on the ground. His partner, Eva, went beside him. "Tired?" She asked him, then gave him a bottle of water. "Nah...I just felt my feet get numb," he answered, obviously lying. Eva just smiled at him. She has been by his side for years and has become close to him. There's no way she could not read his expressions and feelings. He's like an open book to her. But instead of saying more than that, she remained silent and just looked at the front. They just finished the last task at this level and were about to go to the average level. For some reason, Ryota felt pressured and exhausted. He knew in himself that those questions were nerve-wracking. Unlike the questions given to the other students, Ryota's questions are much more difficult. It's as if someone is making it really hard for them. Mr. Rayven, who was looking at the monitor, clicked his tongue when he saw that Ryota had a passing number of
Raia looked at the surroundings while waiting for further instructions. It's been five minutes since he went inside this room but until now, he can't think of anything because of his nervousness. His hands are shaking while his eyes can't stop looking around the room. The walls are covered white while there are some cabinets at the side. There are some maps and other books, seems like props for Raia. After several minutes, he heard something from the other side of the room. He was sitting in front of the transparent glass. In this way, he could see whoever is on the other side of the room. A guy, probably 5'3 in height came over while simply looking around the room. He has this muscular body that, no doubt, one of his assets to attract girls. Raia felt insecure for a second. He looked like a lost kitten for a second until he met Raia's eyes. He slightly bowed down and smiled a bit. Raia's eyebrows furrowed as he was not familiar with this guy. "As far as I know, he's a friend o
Emma walked out of the room, head high while looking at her partner, Everett, with much confidence. "I see," Everett thought to himself, then went after her. "So you beat June Smith, huh?" He asked Emma while waiting for the elevator to turn up. Emma was unfazed, still looking at her fingernails and blowing at them. It's as if winning is the most obvious thing for her. "What a coincidence," Everett thought to himself as he waited for Emma's response. On the other hand, the next game was for Phill, which has now finished. He was expecting it, though. He can't ask for help from his partner since both of them are not good at mathematical equations. Their defeat was totally obvious even before the game started. Rio wins five cookies against Phill with no cookies at all. Meanwhile, Dae, who forfeits his chance to win, lets Chan, his brother, continue the game. He knew how good his brother was at this kind of thing, so he didn't hesitate to ask for help. Ryota suddenly felt nervous wh
"In playing charades, you need to have one who will guess and one who will act. In this activity, you will need to choose who will guess and who will act. There is no time limit. For you to win the game, you need to be the first one to answer all of the charades correctly." Raia furrowed his eyebrows as he heard the instructor. He was well aware that he was not good at acting or guessing. He looked at Osamu, but it seems like he was thinking about the right strategy as well. "But! But wait, there's more! Here's the twist," Mr. Gojo added. "You can challenge anyone inside that room, and once you win your bet against them... they will automatically fail the test and will not be able to pass it," he added. Raia raised his eyebrow. "What a nonsense twist," he said to himself. As Mr. Gojo finished his last words, the screen went blank again. The other teams seem to be thinking about their strategy. Unlike the first two games, this is not against the other team but against your teammate
Raia seemed to have been nailed to his spot as he stared at Mr. Gojo. This was the first time to talk to him outside the classroom, yet he couldn't help but feel nervous. It was no different from the feeling Mr. Rayven gave him; he felt even more intimidated now that he was facing Mr. Gojo. As Gojo slowly approached him, Raia found himself backing away."Are you afraid of me, Raia?" Gojo asked as he continued to approach him. Raia was filled with intense fear as he continued to back away."N-no...w-what do you need from me?" Raia asked nervously."I heard from Rayven. you're the first one to know about it, aren't you? And June...and Aki," he said, counting on his fingers the people who knew about the secret of Hyakku University. "And..." he paused before turning to face him."Ryota Yuu," he said. It surprised Raia. He knew that he hadn't told Ryota about it, but he was planning to do so, and yet, Mr. Gojo included Rrota Yuu."I... It's not true; I don't know what you're talking about!
June and Aki returned to the classroom in silence. They hadn't told anyone about what was happening—not even their close friends Kanaye and Amelia. After what they found out from Raia, they didn't talk about it anymore. There was also a possibility that Amelia and Kanaye might be put in danger if they told them the truth. Aki and June believed that this was not the right time to tell their friends about it. Several days had passed since the exam, and the results were about to be released. June looked around until he saw a particular person who Raia had predicted was one of the passers. That person furrowed his brow when he noticed June looking at him. June looked away and sat down, putting his hands in his pockets. After a moment, Mr. Rayven finally arrived with a smile on his face, and the class's tension was palpable as they looked directly at him. "Oh my God, I hope I passed," Coral, who was sitting behind June, said, hoping out loud while praying. "Don't worry, you probabl
"Where were you last night?" Mr. Rayven asked, causing fear and nervousness in Raia's heart."Ah... I was in my room, Mr. Rayven. Why?" Raia's voice trembled with fear. He was aware of his shaking voice, but he couldn't stop the fear. It seemed like he was completely overwhelmed by fear as he stared into Mr. Rayven's eyes.Mr. Rayven smiled at him. "Oh, really?" It could be seen that there's a suspicion about Mr. Rayven's smile. He slowly approached Raia."Don't lie to me, Raia. You got your memories back, don't you?" he asked, while his hands were only a few meters away from him. Raia swallowed nervously as he noticed his hands behind him.Raia immediately became alert because of this. It was undeniable that Mr. Rayven noticed that Raia's memories had returned. The fear enveloped Raia even more, especially when he remembered the night he lost his memories due to a strange smell. It was not impossible for the teacher to use it again to erase his memory."Hey Raia!" they suddenly heard
The three were holding their breaths so as not to be seen by those creatures. Aki couldn't even open her eyes when she saw one approaching them. The creature's large body and sharp claws were noticeable. Its form was strange and terrifying; even Raia couldn't bring himself to look at it again. "Is this all we're taking?" the creature asked before turning to its companion behind it. "Yes, that's it. Rayven takes too long to bring out new supplies. I've been saying that we should replace him with Rover," the other one complained. "Do you think Mr. A would just let that happen?" the one approaching June and co. asked. "I think Rayven is a kinder servant than his brother," it added before stopping in front of the tube where Raia and the others were hiding. June and Co.'s eyes widened as they saw the creature about to take the tube. They closed their eyes so as not to see the terrifying creature up close. The creature slowly leaned down to grab the tube, and in a moment, it was slung
June didn’t even get a chance to say a word, as he just stared at Aki’s back until she disappeared. It is his first time seeing her in that mood. Meanwhile, Raia was busily untucking his polo shirt. He had just arrived in his room and was about to change clothes. His necktie was still hanging on his neck when he walked towards the map that was attached to the wall.He stared at it for almost 30 seconds before he shrugged his shoulders. "Arghh! No matter how many times I looked at it, I’m still missing another piece! What would it be?" he asked himself before he furiously sat on his bed, still looking at the map. It’s been a week now since he started his research. For now, all he knows is the general structure of the island. It’s probably about a couple of miles, but even Raia wasn’t sure about it. It's just his wild guess. After a long thought, his mind suddenly felt tired. He let his body be pulled down by gravity and lay down on the bed. He felt his eyes getting heavy, so he slowly
Raia's research goes on the days after Osamu's death. He can't afford to lose any more time. He read every possible clue, especially about the history of the school. He also tried to talk to the other personnel and staff on the campus. Of course, he stayed alert assuming that all of the personnel in the university are human-eating creatures like Mr. Rayven. But after several attempts to gain new information, he got nothing. He was walking at that time while holding a bunch of books that he borrowed from the library. He was about to take a left in the intersection of the dormitory when he suddenly bumped into someone. All of the books fell down but he immediately took it back, trying not to expose the content of the books. "Are you okay?" he heard someone ask. "Y-yeah... I'm good," he answered. He slowly looked straight when he finally got all the books. It was Aki and June who bumped into him. When he saw the serious look from June, he immediately looked away and bid goodbye.
Raia's POV What was that? I looked at both my hands and saw that it was still trembling. I don't know why but something suddenly went and popped in my memory. It's as if, it is my lost memory. Farm… Goods… That's it. I was the only one who knew about it. And also June. I was sitting in my bed while remembering those lost memories. That night when I forgot everything, I smelled something...and saw Mr. Rayven looking at me. I'm safe to assume that he did something that time. Besides, he's the only one who went inside my room that night before I lost those memories. I looked at the window beside me. Then I suddenly saw something on the table. It was from Osamu. Ah yes...Osamu. Something suddenly freaked me out. My body moved on its own and took the lucky charm that Osamu gave me last time and then went to the door. I need to give this to Osamu. I also need to talk to him before he went to Mr. Rayven's room. I have a feeling that something bad will happen. Please be safe,
Raia’s POVWhat’s with him? It was my first time to see him look at me like that. When I saw his creepy and suspicious smile toward me, my face crumpled. What does he mean? The winner has been decided already? But the game hasn’t even started yet.To my surprise, he suddenly went toward me. It came so fast that my eyes and mind couldn’t even react at all. It took me seconds before I realized I was lying on the ground."Huh?" I looked at the ground in front of me. Suddenly, a pair of shoes appeared in my sight. I slowly looked up and saw Osamu looking down at me. At first, I couldn’t even recognize him because of the blinding lights behind him. Furthermore, his unusual expression could be seen on his face."I win, Raia," he said while smiling at me. I could even see his teeth shining in my eyes. After a second, a loud announcement could be heard in the whole room. I don’t know why and how it happened, but everything went so fast. The final game rule was so simple. It was a tag.And the
