25: Glutton's thirst for blood

2024-10-29 19:42:56Raia seemed to have been nailed to his spot as he stared at Mr. Gojo. This was the first time to talk to him outside the classroom, yet he couldn't help but feel nervous. It was no different from the feeling Mr. Rayven gave him; he felt even more intimidated now that he was facing Mr. Gojo. As Gojo slowly approached him, Raia found himself backing away.
"Are you afraid of me, Raia?" Gojo asked as he continued to approach him. Raia was filled with intense fear as he continued to back away.
"N-no...w-what do you need from me?" Raia asked nervously.
"I heard from Rayven. you're the first one to know about it, aren't you? And June...and Aki," he said, counting on his fingers the people who knew about the secret of Hyakku University. "And..." he paused before turning to face him.
"Ryota Yuu," he said. It surprised Raia. He knew that he hadn't told Ryota about it, but he was planning to do so, and yet, Mr. Gojo included Rrota Yuu.
"I... It's not true; I don't know what you're talking about!" Raia denied it while trying to distance himself. Gojo smiled and slowly changed his appearance as if something wanted to break free from within him, and he lost the proper form of a person.
Raia quickly moved away from him, feeling his nerves escalating and wanting to get away from him.
"Really? But your memories are back, aren't they?" he asked. Raia's eyes widened as he realized that there was no doubt that Mr. Gojo was just like Mr. Rayven. And now, his appearance confirms that he is also a ghoul.
This was completely different from his very kind and gentle appearance earlier, even his fake smile was gone. Raia's eyes widened as he recognized his appearance now.
"Do you remember me, Raia-kun?" he asked while drooling. Raia couldn't believe it.
"N-no...no way," he said before running away quickly. He turned away from Mr. Gojo and focused all his attention on running. But he was surprised to see that it was already in front of him.
Gojo was grinning, but his eyes showed eagerness as he looked at him.
"No...no way, that's him?!" Raia couldn't believe it, and he remembered the first time he saw him.
"Yo, you are..." Raia was speechless as his opponent suddenly approached him, and their distance closed in on each other.
"Yes yes! It's me! It's me! Whi whi whi," it exclaimed with joy.
It slowly looked back at Raia.
"I am Glutton...and do you know why that's my name?" Raia felt his hair stand on end as Glutton whispered to him. He felt a light breeze on his neck as he looked up and saw Glutton in front of him.
Everything went so fast that he couldn't even follow what was happening.
Glutton smelled Raia as if there was fresh and delicious meat in front of him. He wanted to bite into his neck, but he restrained himself.
"W-what are you?" Raia couldn't help but ask.
"What am I?" Glutton became serious but still observed Raia's movements.
"As you can see..." he said, moving slightly away from Raia. "I am a ghoul...!!" he shouted loudly. There was no one around to hear them, so Glutton didn't care about the consequences of his actions. Glutton was known as the careless ghoul.
This was also why Rayven chose to take it with him—because of his hunger to taste the pleasure of killing humans. He never hesitated to kill when he wanted to.
Glutton's back faced Raia. "I saw... everything, Raia...I hear them all," he said, his words sending shivers down Raia's spine.
Raia's anxiety doubled as Glutton suddenly removed his clothing and revealed his bloodied body.
"I've been itching for blood, Raia... I wanted to taste you. I wanted to taste June! And now...I wanted to taste Ryota-kun," he said with a grin. He seemed like a psychopath gone mad. Raia's fear intensified as Glutton suddenly disappeared and reappeared behind him.
The two of them were not unaware of the man hiding behind the wall, trying to catch his breath. He had noticed Raia returning to the dormitory earlier, so he intended to follow him. But he had not expected Mr. Gojo to be there. He was about to approach them when he saw Mr. Gojo's transformation. He was filled with fear and couldn't keep up with their conversation.
"As you can see, I am a ghoul...!!" he heard Mr. Gojo shout. He sat down in shock and fear. He was afraid to look in their direction, fearing that they might be in front of him already. He couldn't even recognize Mr. Gojo in this form right now. It was like a wild creature in a dark forest who is trying to look for its prey.
Because of this, he just wanted to run away. But he stumbled and fell to the ground, making a sound that caught Raia and Glutton's attention.
A smile quickly appeared on Glutton's lips as he walked towards the noise. "I could smell that. I could smell someone!" Glutton exclaimed happily as he walked away.
Raia could do nothing but stare at Glutton as he walked away. While Glutton's back was turned, he took the opportunity to escape. He quickly hid behind a wall and took a deep breath as if he had not breathed for years because he had been holding his breath since earlier. He secretly peeked at where he was earlier and saw Glutton walking in the direction of the noise they had heard earlier.
However, he did not expect what happened next. He saw Glutton holding his head and laughing happily. Glutton was just holding the hair of the guy, who was now lying on the floor. It felt like those moments came fast for Raia. He saw the head of one of his classmates again. Because of this, he quickly ran away. He didn't care where he was going; he just wanted to get out of that place.
Raia still couldn't believe what happened when he returned to his dormitory. He just witnessed a murder right in front of his eyes. And it wasn't just an ordinary murder; it was done by a ghoul—a fucking ghoul and a strong one who easily broke a head while crazily laughing at it.
The next day was another day for classes, but Raia seemed to have lost all her enthusiasm to get out of bed. He stayed up the last night thinking about what he saw, and no matter how many times he tried to forget everything, it felt like a broken record in his mind.
He shook his head before continuing to walk toward their classroom. He hoped that what he saw last night wasn't true. But to his surprise, he was shocked to see everyone in chaos inside because Sam Vasquez, the man Glutton killed last night, went missing.
