Nadia’s POV
I headed to my room withVeer. He insisted on helping me settle down and know if I liked the room or notbefore going into his. We entered my room and I gasped, feeling the warmth ofluxury wash down on me. It contained a large double bed, and a three-seater couchsat right before the window. Blackout curtains hung magnificently by the sideof the glassy door and windows. It also has a desk and chair, a mini coffeetable with a beautiful flower, planted in a glassy watered jar. The bathroomdoor was opened and I could see the sparkling white WC and the rainfallshowerhead hanging down the wall with hair dryers. Wow! I was thrilled.Returning my eyes to the bedroom, I moved closer to the large glassy door withopened curtains. The view it provides is breathtaking. There were two chairsoutside for relaxation on the mini porch. It clearly shows the colorfulflowers, hanging on their arched support.“Do you like it?” VNadia’s POV“Hey!” Veer waved hishand, beaming all smiles. He was dressed in a black t-shirt with ripped silverjean pants with his left hand shoved into his pocket. He was unusually puttingon a baseball cap.“Hi,” I responded, avoiding his eyes. He just looked charming tonight as the light from the fieryyellow bulbs illuminated his fair, glowing skin. His abs were visibleunder the tight shirt that seemed to be ripping off with stunning muscles.“Shall we?” he uttered after a minute of silence and I nodded. He took hold ofmy hand and we headed out. Every time he holds me, I feel my childish parttaking over. He makes me feel like a baby once again. I glanced over at him…for the umpteenth time now in one walk. “Anything wrong?” he asked I averted myeyes to look ahead.“I’m sorry,” I apologizedlowly and he squeezed my hand, making me look at him.“You can stare all youwant, Nadia. I don’t mind,” he said.
Nadia’s POV“Who did you choose,Nadia?” Mr Baldev asked me. My heart picked a shortrace before slowing down. I slowly unfolded my paper. Looking between everyone,I revealed the boldly written name of Sidd. I puckered my lips, the clench offear in my heart intensifying.“Who is it?” Veer asked.“I… I picked Sidd,” Idrawled his name and I saw how a smile crept to his face. Veer squeezed my handto calm me down. Ria’s chest heaved up and down in anger as she glared bitterlyat me.“What do you want her todo, Sidd?” Mr Baldev asked. I looked pitifully atSidd. He teased me with a wink. “I want her to walk with me till I decide wereturn,” Sidd said.“No,” Ria snapped, hitting her hand on the table. “No one is stepping away from here. The game issupposed to take place here and end here. Do you understand, Sidd?”“Calm down, Ria. The gamedidn’t lay out any restrictions. As far as I am concerned,
Nadia’s POVI opened my eyes to theshaft of the sun pouring on my face. I felt a sharp pain around my abdomen. Igrunted, running my hand over my belly.“Nadia?” I heard Veer’svoice and turning my head, I met eyes with him. Did he sleep here over thenight? I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. “How do you feel now?” he asked.Without a reply, I tried supporting myself to sit up. He quickly held my hand, helping me to sit up.“Thank you,” Iappreciated.“Is anywhere hurting younow?” he asked in a low tone, making concern and fear apparent in his tone andfacial expression.“Just a slight pain in myabdomen, but I will be fine,” I assured him.“Of course. You would befine,” he said, squeezing my hand. “I was scared, you know? I thought somethingbad was going to happen to you. Why did you take the blow for me?”“I don’t want to be thereason for you getting hit again, Veer.”“Does it matter? Look a
Nadia’s POVVeer had to go see thedirector. After leaving, I composed myself, applied light makeup to hide mypale face, and stepped out to receive fresh air. I was heading to the swimmingpoolside to chill. Scrolling through my phone while walking, I bumped intosomeone. I lifted my gaze to meet Ria’s. She had an evil grin on her face.“Sorry,” I apologized. Nomatter our differences, I apologize when I’m wrong.“It seems what you sawearlier has made you blind, isn’t it?” she sneered.“What did I see thatcould be so taunting?” I asked. She narrowed her eyes to mine. “I know youwere behind that note just to make me feel jealous. But what’s your gain inthat when Sidd is just all over me, chasing me like ants to sugar? I dare youto have Sidd in your clutch again so he would stop running after me,” Iretorted.“You are such a witch, you little slut. I despise you so much and I am going to deal with you in a way
Sidd’s POVSeeing Nadia leave with that dickhead made me crazy. I trampled to Mr Baldev’s room.Bang!I hit my fist against the door. On a second attempt, he opened the door and I walked past him inside.“What’s wrong, Sidd?” he asked, facing me.“I am leaving this place today,” I declared and his forehead creased with confusion.“Why? We just got here yesterday,” he blunted.“I know. You all can continue to stay till the one week is over. I have to return home. I came to say goodbye,” I told him and headed out.“Okay then, see you,” he bade and I shut the door.*****I pulled out my suitcase and headed to my car. Ria was shouting my name behind me. I ignored her and put my suitcase in the back seat.“Where are you going, Sidd?” she queried, catching up with me before I even entered the car.“I’m leaving,” I declared and opened the door to the driver’s seat.“How can you leave without me?” she asked in a low tone.“Look here, R
Nadia’s POV“Argh!” I winced at thedull pain in my head and hand. I opened my eyes, falling them on the IV bag. Ilooked at my hand and the IV was stuck into my veins. My eyes darted around, landing them on Veer. “You are awake. How doyou feel now?” he asked, smiling.“What happened to me?” Iqueried.“Nothing serious, youwill be fine,” he assured me.“You are awake now!” thegroan of a middle-aged woman made me shudder as I turned my eyes to her. Shelooked angry. I glanced at Veer. He beckoned to me to calm down. “Do you thinkyou can escape this? How dare you? How dare you put my daughter in such acondition?” the woman scolded.“You have to calm down,ma’am. It wasn’t entirely her fault,”Veer defended, leaving me looking puzzled as I watched the angry woman pour outon me.“Whose fault is it then? She is the reason my daughter is in a coma and you said it’s not her fault? Nadia’s POVMy eyes bored into Veer’sand I nibbled on my bottom lip as his eyes blazed with desire.“You don’t have to sayanything,” he said, the corner of his lips turned up into a smile. Hepositioned his hands back on the steering wheel and started the engine. Iindeed couldn’t speak as I kept gawking at him. What does he mean by he lovesme?*****I still couldn’t get overwhat Veer told me earlier. Does he love me mean he is in love with me? When didthat start? I shuffled across the dimly lit bedroom whose only light source wasthe blue lamp on the nightstand, lost in thought and trying to figure out thereal meaning behind his words. I shuddered upon hearing my phone ring. I pickedit up from the table. Veer. I stared plainly at the phone screen, puckering mylips and contemplating whether to answer the call or not. The call ended and Isighed. Then my phone began ringing again. I just couldn’t think of anythin

Shelifted her dull, watery eyes to me. “Hey, what happened to you? Have you beencrying?” I queried, concern tinged in my voice. Without a word, she shuffledpast me. “Siya, what is the matter?” I flitted to her front.“What do you want,Nadia?” she barked suddenly, making me shiver. Her eyes darkened, swallowingthe beautiful chestnut brown color in them. My forehead creased. I haven’t seenSiya was in such a mood before. What happened to the always-blithe Siya?“Talk to me, Siya. But I have to becommitted to Siya because she is carrying my child. She decided to make thefirst move as she came to sit beside me on the loveseat.“I… I’m sorry,” shemumbled, holding my hand. “It was all my fault. I shouldn’t have been stupidenough to reject your love in the first place. And I shouldn’t have takenadvantage of you when you were intoxicated,” she expressed. I couldn’t help butlaugh. “Veer?”“Sorry, my bad,” Ichuckled. “But it’s funny. Nadia’s POVI ambled hand in handwith Veer down the street. He was keeping me company with a song. He sings sowell and I found myself melting at his voice. I was lost after some minutes, thinking of Sidd again. After that small gesture the last time, he has remainedthe same. I wonder how deep the bullet had penetrated his heart. Veer squeezed my hand, drawing my attention back to him. “Are you fine?” he asked, looking at me.I smiled and nodded.“Yeah, you sing so beautiful. Thank you,” I said.“Why are you thanking me?I am just doing my duty,” he said. I raised an eyebrow. “You don’t know being afiancé comes with lots of duties?”I laughed, leaningagainst his shoulder. “What duties?”“The duty of making youhappy and laugh like you are doing now,” he said.“You are just funny,” Ichuckled. “So, dutiful fiancé, I am hungry,” I faked a cry.“What? Then I am sostupid of a fiancé not to notice,” he

Zeehan had his head on my lap while I ran my hands throughit.“Mummy?” Zeehan suddenlycalled, but didn’t raise his head. If I didn’t tell him, sooner or later,he would still find out and get mad at me again. “Baby?” I called softly. “YourDaddy is… your daddy is
Nadia’s POVI woke up and didn’t seeHema. Where could she have gone this early? I yawned, stretching my handsabove my head while heading to the kitchen. He closed the door gently.“Good morning, Nadia,”Hema greeted me with a warm smile.I smiled back at her, ignoring Veer. “Good morning, Hema. You didn’t tell me you would be out early,”I said as she moved closer to me.“You were fast asleep, Ididn’t want to disturb you,” she replied. Nadia’s POVThere was an excruciatingpain waving across my heart as I dragged my feet on the cold street. I held myhigh heels in my hand like a mad woman. My hair cascaded over my shoulders withsome strands framing my forehead but damp from my sweat and tears. The windsurged into my body, making goosebumps grow on my skin. The sky was starry butno moon. The sounds of people chattering from a shop couldn’t pull my eyes toit. The smell of junk food filled my nose, but it never made my mouth waterylike before. I was overwhelmed. How could Veer cheat onme? Did he pay me back for sleeping with Sidd while engaged to him? I wouldtake it as a payback, but my heart was still pained. Yeah, I overheard hisconversation with Siya.FlashbackI was bored at home. Veerdidn’t come to visit as usual but he called me to tell me he was busy. Idecided to pay him a surprise visit. If I decide to do all thework at hand, I would be comatose too, honestly. “Hmph!” I sighed, thinkingabout Nadia. When she said she couldn’t wait for us to get married, I wasbaffled. I thought she was going to leave me for Sidd since she had been drawnto him in the past few days. Could it be because he took a bullet for Zeehan?Well, Nadia doesn’t know yet but I had planned with Sidd.FlashbackI stepped out of thehouse, about to enter the car to go to Nadia’s place when Sidd drove in. I wasboth angry and surprised that he visited me. If he was here to confront me, Iwould have fought him till one of us got knocked out.“What are you doing here?”I growled, shutting my car door and casting a glare dagger at him.“Calm down, okay? I’m nothere to figh
Siya’s POVI lay on the couch in theliving room with my hair cascading over the couch, and my hands entwined on mychest. I was sullen, my heart kept pit-a-patting as I anticipated the resultsof the pregnancy test I underwent. I just hope I am not pregnant for real thistime. A dull pain waved across my forehead and I winced, massaging my temple. “Miss Siya?” myhousekeeper, Ruchi called, walking around the couch to stand beside me. She washolding a cup. I glanced at her. “I brought you a cup of herbal tea, it willhelp you relax,” she said, stretching the cup to me. I tried forcing myself tosit up. “Be careful,” she said, hurriedly putting the tea on the coffee tableand returning to support me. She helped me sit up and I leaned my back againstthe headrest.“Thank you,” I mumbled. She got the tea from thetable and stretched it back to me. I couldn’t even blink as I stared between Zeehan and Sidd. Every drop shredded my heart. Icollected the gun from her.“You don’t have tochoose, Nadia. Go one, shoot me, and save your child,” Sidd said.More tears ran down mycheeks. I have indeed been trying to force myself out of loving Sidd, butkilling him was out of it. And my poor baby. He hasn’t even seen half of theworld yet. He hasn’t even attended school yet. No experience in life, how can Ishoot him? Bu
