Nadia’s POV
My eyes bored into Veer’sand I nibbled on my bottom lip as his eyes blazed with desire.“You don’t have to sayanything,” he said, the corner of his lips turned up into a smile. Hepositioned his hands back on the steering wheel and started the engine. Iindeed couldn’t speak as I kept gawking at him. What does he mean by he lovesme?*****I still couldn’t get overwhat Veer told me earlier. Does he love me mean he is in love with me? When didthat start? I shuffled across the dimly lit bedroom whose only light source wasthe blue lamp on the nightstand, lost in thought and trying to figure out thereal meaning behind his words. I shuddered upon hearing my phone ring. I pickedit up from the table. Veer. I stared plainly at the phone screen, puckering mylips and contemplating whether to answer the call or not. The call ended and Isighed. Then my phone began ringing again. I just couldn’t think of anythinNadia’s POVAfter leaving Veer whowent to meet the director, I ambled down the porch, waiting for him to return.Taking a left turn to the hallway, I saw Siya. Her face was pale and hereyelashes drooped with her deflated shoulders, dragging her feet like someoneshackled to chains.“Siya?” I called. Shelifted her dull, watery eyes to me. “Hey, what happened to you? Have you beencrying?” I queried, concern tinged in my voice. Without a word, she shuffledpast me. “Siya, what is the matter?” I flitted to her front.“What do you want,Nadia?” she barked suddenly, making me shiver. Her eyes darkened, swallowingthe beautiful chestnut brown color in them. My forehead creased. I haven’t seenSiya was in such a mood before. What happened to the always-blithe Siya?“Talk to me, Siya. Whathappened to you? We can always sort it out, right?”“Leave me the hell aloneyou freaking betrayal. Don’t ever come close to me,” she
Nadia’s POV“Jaiden?” Veer mentionedand I squinted my eyes, trying to see the figure that just stepped out of the carwith fans and reporters sticking to him like bees to honey.“Sidd’s brother?” Iuttered. “Where has he been all these while?” I queried, my eyes still notleaving his sight.“He has been away to theUS for some months now. He is back with his troubles again,” Veer said, no iotaof respect in his voice. What kind of a person is Jaiden then? “Are you fighting withhim also?” I queried. He chuckled. “I don’tfight everyone, Nadia. Jaiden is just something else and I implore you to becareful around him,” he cautioned, forcing my eyes back on him.“Give me a snippet ofwhat he does.”“Describe him as apervert,” Veer whispered and my brows quirked. “He is not someone to tacklewhen it comes to his sexual desires.”“Hmm,” I trailed off.*****“Nadia?” I was walkingthrough the h
Damini’s POV (Sidd’s Mom)How dare she? How dareshe try to come between my sons? Since they were born, this is the first time oneis threatening another.I drove with my driver, heading to the studio. It doesn’t matter how many eyes are there, I am going toteach that pervert of a lady a lesson to stay away from my sons.“We are here, ma’am,” mydriver notified. I was so lost in thoughtthat I didn’t know we had reached the studio yet. I alighted from the car, squared my shoulders, and strutted inside. It has been a while since I stepped my feethere and every time I do, I make sure to leave them talking about me.“Welcome, ma’am Damini,”Mr Baldev greeted, warmly extending a hand to me.“Thank you, Baldev,” Iresponded, wrapping my hand around his.“It has been a while,ma’am Damini. Nadia’s POVI was riding with Veer.He always insists on taking me home. He has been of great support to me inthe industry and I wish to repay him by not breaking his heart. I will try tobe with him even though it will be hard loving another man but Sidd. It hasbeen two days since the incident with Sidd’s mom and I have been trying as muchas possible to escape Sidd and Jaiden. I know Sidd wouldn’t react to myreprove, but that Jaiden is something else. Just yesterday, he threatened totake me down and make me scream his name. For fuck’s sake, what did I do todeserve that? No man has ever touched me before and after Sidd, yet I earnedmyself a slut’s title. If only I had listened to my mother’s advice, maybe Iwouldn’t be here by now.“What is the matter now?”Veer asked, glancing at me. “It’s nothing, I’m fine,”I replied with a forced smile. How can I be fine when I am being threatened? Icouldn’t tell Veer about
Nadia’s POV“Ow!” I winced at thethrobbing pain in my forehead. It felt like something dull was forcing itself acrossmy forehead. The room smelled like a candle wax burning. My whole body was benumbed.I opened my eyes and the darkness made my vision blurry before the candlelightslowly pierced through. I tried to sit up on the bed but then I couldn’t movemy hands. I pulled my hands and it dragged a rope above my head. Wait. What? Itried looking up at my head, my neck ached. Then it dawned on me my hands weretied to something, maybe a hook against the wall above the headboard orsomething. I pulled my leg, it was restrained too. Then my position wasconfirmed. I was lying flat on the bed, my hands tied to something above theheadboard, and my legs were spread on the bed, tied each to something I couldn’tfathom, restraining my whole body movement except my eyes and head. My heartpicked a race, and my senses heightened, knowin
Sidd’s POVI returned to thesafe house to be with Nadia. She was still unconscious. I removed my shoes andsat on a chair close to the bed, watching her.“Veer… Veer,” Nadia begancalling in a brittle tone, sweeping her head sideways uncomfortably on the bed.Her forehead was covered with the sweat evoked by her nightmare.“Nadia?” I called. Istood up from the chair and sat with her on the bed. “Nadia?” I shook herlightly.“Veer?” she gasped, jerking up immediately. “Veer?” she turned her head to me. “Did you see Veer?Did you help him?” she queried, staring into my eyes as if fetching the truth.“Calm down, okay? Veer isfine,” I assured her. She inhaled and exhaleddeeply. “Thank you,” she mouthed and relaxed back on the bed.“What should I get you?”I asked. She sat up quickly again, swaying her head around the bed. “My phone. Where is my phone?”“Are you kidding me? Isthat what’s import
Siya’s POVI went to Veer’s house. Not for anything, but for the sake of our friendship. I wanted to keep thingsthe way it was between us. “Hello, Siya,” Vaani’swarm smile welcomed me the moment she opened the door.“Hi, Vaani,” I smiledback, walking past her inside. She closed the door and followed me to theliving room. “Where is Veer?” I asked, looking around.“He is upstairs, in hisroom,” she responded.“Thank you,” I commentedand headed upstairs.Reaching to Veer’s door,I clenched my fist to tap on it when I heard his voice. He was near the door,on the phone I guess.“Of course, I am notgoing to teddy this one. I just hope she accepts my proposal,” he said. A gasp erupted from mychest, and I covered my mouth. Veer was planning to propose to Nadia or what? Ipressed my ear against the door to hear more.“Yeah, I selected thebest I could find from their website. Trust me it’s
Nadia’s POVI was in the living room, tying my shoelaces. As usual, I have to be in the studio today also. A knockcame on the door. But I have to becommitted to Siya because she is carrying my child. She decided to make thefirst move as she came to sit beside me on the loveseat.“I… I’m sorry,” shemumbled, holding my hand. “It was all my fault. I shouldn’t have been stupidenough to reject your love in the first place. And I shouldn’t have takenadvantage of you when you were intoxicated,” she expressed. I couldn’t help butlaugh. “Veer?”“Sorry, my bad,” Ichuckled. “But it’s funny. I was lost after some minutes, thinking of Sidd again. After that small gesture the last time, he has remainedthe same. I wonder how deep the bullet had penetrated his heart. Veer squeezed my hand, drawing my attention back to him. “Are you fine?” he asked, looking at me.I smiled and nodded.“Yeah, you sing so beautiful. Thank you,” I said.“Why are you thanking me?I am just doing my duty,” he said. I raised an eyebrow. “You don’t know being afiancé comes with lots of duties?”I laughed, leaningagainst his shoulder. “What duties?”“The duty of making youhappy and laugh like you are doing now,” he said.“You are just funny,” Ichuckled. “So, dutiful fiancé, I am hungry,” I faked a cry.“What? Then I am sostupid of a fiancé not to notice,” he
Nadia’s POVThe thought of Sidd outof danger and waking us soon filled my stomach with joy. I constantly foundmyself smiling, but still, I was sad deep down. If he wakes up, we will beback to how we used to be, hating and avoiding. It makes me sad.I was seated on the couchin the living room. Zeehan had his head on my lap while I ran my hands throughit.“Mummy?” Zeehan suddenlycalled, but didn’t raise his head. I just want to know him,” he said.Should I tell him?Doesn’t he deserve to know the truth now? If I didn’t tell him, sooner or later,he would still find out and get mad at me again. “Baby?” I called softly. “YourDaddy is… your daddy is
Nadia’s POVI woke up and didn’t seeHema. Where could she have gone this early? I yawned, stretching my handsabove my head while heading to the kitchen. Reaching the living room, the doorclicked open and I turned my eyes to it. Hema walked in and I smiled. The smileimmediately faded when I saw Veer trail behind her. He closed the door gently.“Good morning, Nadia,”Hema greeted me with a warm smile.I smiled back at her, ignoring Veer. “Good morning, Hema. You didn’t tell me you would be out early,”I said as she moved closer to me.“You were fast asleep, Ididn’t want to disturb you,” she replied. She leaned into my ear. “It was amistake, please forgive him,” she added with a reassuring smile and left thetwo of us. Nadia’s POVThere was an excruciatingpain waving across my heart as I dragged my feet on the cold street. I held myhigh heels in my hand like a mad woman. My hair cascaded over my shoulders withsome strands framing my forehead but damp from my sweat and tears. The windsurged into my body, making goosebumps grow on my skin. The sky was starry butno moon. The sounds of people chattering from a shop couldn’t pull my eyes toit. The smell of junk food filled my nose, but it never made my mouth waterylike before. I was overwhelmed. How could Veer cheat onme? Did he pay me back for sleeping with Sidd while engaged to him? I wouldtake it as a payback, but my heart was still pained. Yeah, I overheard hisconversation with Siya.FlashbackI was bored at home. Veerdidn’t come to visit as usual but he called me to tell me he was busy. Idecided to pay him a surprise visit. Veer’s POVTwo days later. I wasbusy in my room, settling one and two deals on my laptop. These past weeks havebeen hectic with Zeehan missing and Sidd comatose. If I decide to do all thework at hand, I would be comatose too, honestly. “Hmph!” I sighed, thinkingabout Nadia. When she said she couldn’t wait for us to get married, I wasbaffled. I thought she was going to leave me for Sidd since she had been drawnto him in the past few days. Could it be because he took a bullet for Zeehan?Well, Nadia doesn’t know yet but I had planned with Sidd.FlashbackI stepped out of thehouse, about to enter the car to go to Nadia’s place when Sidd drove in. I wasboth angry and surprised that he visited me. If he was here to confront me, Iwould have fought him till one of us got knocked out.“What are you doing here?”I growled, shutting my car door and casting a glare dagger at him.“Calm down, okay? I’m nothere to figh
Siya’s POVI lay on the couch in theliving room with my hair cascading over the couch, and my hands entwined on mychest. I was sullen, my heart kept pit-a-patting as I anticipated the resultsof the pregnancy test I underwent. I just hope I am not pregnant for real thistime. A dull pain waved across my forehead and I winced, massaging my temple. “Miss Siya?” myhousekeeper, Ruchi called, walking around the couch to stand beside me. She washolding a cup. I glanced at her. “I brought you a cup of herbal tea, it willhelp you relax,” she said, stretching the cup to me. I tried forcing myself tosit up. “Be careful,” she said, hurriedly putting the tea on the coffee tableand returning to support me. She helped me sit up and I leaned my back againstthe headrest.“Thank you,” I mumbled. She got the tea from thetable and stretched it back to me. She sent her out to go buy something for herbirthday, even though she was reluctant to celebrate this time. The moment wesaw her entering the gate, we turned off the lights, leaving the whole livingroom dark, plus the kitchen. She entered, and we kept mute.“Mother? Why is theparlor dark?” Pari whined. She turned on the bulbs and behold,
Nadia’s POVI stood immobile. I wasshocked beyond word expression when Ria stretched a handgun to me to shooteither Zeehan or Sidd.“Take it from me, Nadia,”Ria groaned. I couldn’t even blink as I stared between Zeehan and Sidd. Siddwoke up earlier. “It’s either you shoot any of them or I would be forced toshoot both of them, starting from your little boy here,” she added andpressed a gun at Zeehan.“No!” I suddenly found myvoice.“Mummy!” Zeehan begancrying, tears trickling down his cheeks. Every drop shredded my heart. Icollected the gun from her.“You don’t have tochoose, Nadia. Go one, shoot me, and save your child,” Sidd said.More tears ran down mycheeks. I have indeed been trying to force myself out of loving Sidd, butkilling him was out of it. And my poor baby. He hasn’t even seen half of theworld yet. He hasn’t even attended school yet.
