Chapter 70: Stop Helping Me

Sidd’s POV

I returned to the

safe house to be with Nadia. She was still unconscious. I removed my shoes and

sat on a chair close to the bed, watching her.

“Veer… Veer,” Nadia began

calling in a brittle tone, sweeping her head sideways uncomfortably on the bed.

Her forehead was covered with the sweat evoked by her nightmare.

“Nadia?” I called. I

stood up from the chair and sat with her on the bed. “Nadia?” I shook her

lightly.

“Veer?” she gasped,

jerking up immediately. “Veer?” she turned her head to me. “Did you see Veer?

Did you help him?” she queried, staring into my eyes as if fetching the truth.

“Calm down, okay? Veer is

fine,” I assured her.

She inhaled and exhaled

deeply. “Thank you,” she mouthed and relaxed back on the bed.

“What should I get you?”

I asked.

She sat up quickly again,

swaying her head around the bed. “My phone. Where is my phone?”
