Eugene's POV

The sunlight shines brightly through my windows as I open my eyes. Another day, another chance to sneak away from all the clinging girls. Gosh! What am I?! A human magnet? Can't they leave me alone? They're only after my money and fame, and I won't tolerate it. I wish my life could be less complicated. Being the son of one of the most famous businessmen in the world has its perks, but all the attention? I hate it!

I climb out of bed in an 'I don't want to go' attitude and walk to my walk-in wardrobe. I barely have any casual clothes, because my mother and father pack my wardrobe with suit after suit. I can't even remember how many business meetings I have attended already. Gosh, I'm only 18! I walk down my wardrobe, scrolling through the little everyday clothes I have, and pick the first thing I think would cheer my mood up a bit: Casual blue skinny jeans, a blue knitted jersey with a white shirt underneath and a white knitted scarf with white sneakers.

I take a good, long look in the mirror before I'm satisfied with my appearance and head out of my room. As soon as I enter the hallway, the smell of pancakes and cherries enter my nose. Great, Melissa is up and running her order in with the chef as usual. She should really lay off the carbs. Then again, Melissa is as skinny as a beanpole, so maybe she could use the food. She eats it every day! How does she not get fat? I have to work my as off to look the way I do and stay fit and well-built.

I enter the kitchen, and as I thought, there stood a hungry Melissa ready to attack her meal like a wild pack of wolves. She looks at me, and her smile instantly fades.

"Oh, look who decided to show up. Mr Party Pooper. Come to ruin my morning meal as well?" Melissa's snarky comment cut through the delightful air. I'm not surprised that she would lash out at me.

"I was tired last night, Melissa. I didn't want to go to that party." I say and rub my hand through my messy hair. Yeah. It is probably the only thing I didn't check this morning, but I couldn't care less. I'm not going anywhere today, so I don't care.

"No, your lying. You would have gone if I hadn't told you who the host was." She says, annoyed at my behaviour.

I look at her and shrug. "Still wouldn't have gone."

Melissa rolls her eyes and sigh. "What is your deal with Cassidy anyway? Weren't you two such good friends?"

Cassidy Opera. We were friends since I can remember. She is the only daughter of the second in command at my father's company. We were practically friends at first sight, because the second we saw each other, we left our parents' sides and ran away together to the playing grounds. Ever since that day, we became best friends and then one day, out of the blue, she proclaimed her love to me. That was two weeks ago. I didn't like her in that way in the slightest, so I decided that it was best to ignore her completely.

"Nothing. I wasn't in the mood to party and because I was tired." I said never-mindedly, but Melissa wasn't in the mood for my attitude today.

"Bullshit! Someday, I'll get the truth out of you. Mark my words."

"You can try, but I doubt you'll succeed."

Melissa was about to give me another amount of sass lines, but her food came, and she left in blazing speed that would even make The Flash embarrassed of his existence. Boy, I'm sure if I had to hear another line out of her mouth, I would have lost it completely. I walk up to the chef, who greets me friendlier than usual and it kind of creeps me out. I order my food as quick as possible and walk to the dining hall. On my way, I walk past my mother wearing a gorgeous dress today, as usual, but it is more elegant than usual.

"Something special happening today?"

My mother turns around with a shocked expression written all over her face. Something's fishy.

"Nothing, dear. I was feeling in the mood to wear something more elegant today than my usual self." She says with a wry smile.

I look her up in down with a questionable look plastered on my face. "Hmm."

She lowers her shoulders with a discouraged expression. "Honestly, Eugene, you don't trust me?" "No. Not in the slightest."

She sighs and shakes her head. "Fine, you don't have to, but it is the truth."

"Whatever you say, Ms Coraline Wright."

My mom rolls her eyes and gives me a faint smile.

"I'm going to be out all day. I have work in town today according to your fathers' orders."

"Fine by me. Have a grand day." I say sarcastically, turning to leave, but my mother had other plans.

"Hey, don't you give me that sarcasm, young man. You are not an adult yet and are still living under our roof. Until then, you follow my and your dad's rules. Got it?" She says with a stern voice.

"Yes, mom. Now go before you are late for your work today. You don't want to get dad mad."

"Your right. Bye, see you tonight."

"Bye."

My mom blows me a kiss goodbye before she leaves through the front door in a hurry. I give a big sigh and continue my walk to the dining room.

Rose's POV

"Yes! Now give a little surface lean against the wall. AND that's just stunning! Great work today Rose."

I walk off of the photoshoot and take the towel my make-up artist gives me.

"Thanks, Logan. You really know your stuff." I say, patting away all the sweat drops from my forehead.

Logan laughs at my comment, "Well, I'm not the famous Logan Posh for no reason."

"Indeed," I say and smile.

"I'm guessing you're going to return  home now?" Logan asks as-a-matter-of-factly.

I take a quick look at the time on my phone and smile.

"Actually, it is almost lunchtime. Why don't you join me?"

"Just like the old times." He says and places his hand on his heart to show how touched he is.

"Hey, I'm only 18! And we are still best friends, so don't you forget that. And we didn't hang out together that long ago."

"But it feels like it."

Logan looks at me with a pout and with fake tears in his eyes. He is such a drama queen.

"Are you sure you didn't want to do acting instead?"

We look at each other and start laughing. We both know that wouldn't have worked out for him.

"No, I'm sure."

Logan claps his hands together, grabbing everyone's attention in the photoshoot hall. "That's a wrap, everyone. You can clean up, grab your things together and return home. Thank you for your hard work and effort today."

Everyone scurries around, cleaning up and grabbing their stuff to go home. We've been taking photo's since 7 o'clock this morning, so I think every one must be very tired. While I was walking to the dressing room to grab my things and change back into my clothes, I see Jennifer walking away towards the exit.

"Hey, Jen."

She turns around, and when she notices me, she smiles.

"Hi, Rose. What's up?"

"Would you like to join Logan and me for lunch this afternoon?"

"I'd love to, but I have other things I have to do today. Maybe some other time?" She says, already looking sad for declining my offer.

"Yeah, sure. I'll see you around."

"See ya."

I give her a big smile and head back to my dressing room. I undress my modelling outfit and put my clothes back on. Paris is a little chilly today, so I had to put something warm on.

I exit my dressing room and head straight to Logan, who's waiting at the exit for me.

"Do you have a car?" He asks when he finally saw me.

"No. My mom dropped me off today. Well, she insisted she'd do it. She was early for work today, so she made the extra few turns to drop me off."

Logan turns around and starts walking out of the building swing his car keys around his finger. "OK, so we'll take my car."

"Alright, Logan."

We head to his car, and like a gentleman, he opens my door first for me to enter before he goes around to the driver's side. Once we're on the road, I turn up the music and start singing the first song on the radio, The Lonely from Christina Perri.

Logan shakes his head and sighs. "Why do you always love these sad songs?"

"It's not that I love them. I love singing along with the music."

"Is that all?" Logan asks, giving me a questionable look.

"Yes."

Logan looks at me and smiles whilst shaking his head. I know he thinks I'm crazy, but I've never been anyone else but me in front of him. He is such an easy-going person, and it makes me feel comfortable around him.

We turn the next corner and stop in the parking lot in front of the diner. Logan climbs out first and opens my door. I'm so grateful his parents taught him such good manners. Men these days don't really do it anymore.

"Thank you."

"My pleasure."

He locks his car, and we enter the diner. The waitress seats us in the VIP section at the top of the building overlooking Paris. I used to come here a lot with my parents when I was little. Now it is only a fading memory. My parents are so busy these days, and I can't see them a lot, but at least we can talk at the table in the evening when they have returned from their work.

"Rose, are you alright?"

"Hmm?" I look up at Logan from my daze to see him with a concerned frown.

"You looked distant just now."

I shake my head and smile up at him. "Oh, no. I'm fine. I was thinking about something."

He looks at me, hesitant about my words but trusts in what I say, and we go to our table. The waitress walks away for a minute before returning. She hands us our menu's, and we scroll through the pages.

"So, what would you like for lunch?"

Eugene's POV The first thing I noticed when I stepped into the foyer was a family of three. A man, who I assumed was Dominic Crimson, father's good friend, was standing to the right whilst two women stood on the left side of him. The one I could tell was Clementine Crimson because my sister has her whole clothing line in her closets, and Melissa has shown me a few photo's of her to give me a heads up about the Crimsons'. The other woman was standing with her head bent down, but as I was looking at her, she lifted her head and looked into my eyes. She looked very much like Clementine and a little bit like Dominic, and then it hit me. Father never mentioned that the Crimsons' had a daughter! What have I gotten myself into? She looks like one of those girls who will follow me around the whole time. Still, that doesn't help the fact that we are staying with them for a few weeks! I'm goi

Luckily, I searched the web for information about him before I greeted him. I found that he dislikes all girls because of personal reasons, and I went on some girl called Cassidy Opera's Instagram, where she posted a photo of him reading a book, so I assumed he liked to read. While opening, I could smell the oh so familiar perfume of Mama and looked up at her. She gave me a heartwarming smile, and I smiled back as nicely as I could because I could barely open my eyes. "May I come in?" She asks politely. "Sure." I step away from the opening of the door to give her some space to come into my room. Although she is as skinny as a broomstick, I still make way for her out of respect. She walks around my room and sits on one of the sofas. She folds her legs casually like she always does and looks up at me.Oh boy. I know that look. I'm so in trouble this time. I give her a sheepish grin as she opens her

Rose’s POVI woke up to a throbbing pain in my right shoulder and a heartbeat monitor beeping. The sudden bright light that filled my vision as I opened my eyes was enough to make me blind. I squinted my eyes as I studied the room I was in and sighed in relief when I realized I was back at the hospital. We’ll more in the hospital than at the hospital if I studied my situation correctly.I groaned as I tried to sit up in the bed, the pain from my shoulder now spreading to the rest of my arm. Ugg, what is this pain?I looked towards my arm and noticed it was bandaged and hanging in a sleave. Oh, yeah. That right. I was shot. Yesterday? Two days prior? I don’t know how long I’ve been knocked out, so I’ll have to check the date on my phone.

I climbed out of the car, paid him, and watched as he drove off back into the city. I turned around and studied the harbour. I get why he didn’t want to go further because this was an abandoned harbour and no doubt someplace where the mafia people gather to collect their shipments. Now, if I wanted to commit a crime, this would be the place I would go.I took a deep breath and entered the vicinity. I couldn’t hear anything except my footsteps that echoed as I walked. It was high tide, so the ocean didn’t even move, and there were no seagulls in the sky. Everything was completely silent.I walked until I found a clearing where I saw Cassidy standing

I rocked her in my arms when the door to my room opened, and in walked Eugene. The second he walked into the room, he paused in his steps and looked at me and then at Lacey. The doctors also put me on anti-shock medication, saying it would help prevent any side effects from my blow to my head.I was grateful that I could receive such good treatment from the doctors.
