Red Shoes, and Some Fairytale Prince Charming

The slow music blaring from the speakers was loud enough to drown the doorbell, and so the deliveryman who had stood there for over thirty minutes was already about giving up and placing a call to the employer who had sent him, when one of the security men called her over the phone.

Jade had just returned from the bathroom, her thoroughly washed body wrapped in a bathrobe, her butt glued to the seat in front of the vanity where she made herself busy drying her hair. She was in that position, listening to music which added to the noise from the hair dryer, when her phone rang.

Her security officers' calls were always treated with urgency, and as usual, she was quick to pick it on the first ring, swiping to the right and placing it on loudspeaker.

"Good evening, ma'am. There is a deliveryman here who has been outside for quite some time. Do I send him back?"

Jade searched herself; she hadn't ordered anything, nor had she requested for any delivery.
