Chapter 5: Met By Chance!

(Matilda’s POV)

What an unlucky day, I am going crazy in this search for a mate thing!

What is this stupidity to have a mate to rule?

Why one would bear an extra person beside her to achieve her dream?

This is literally so absurd!

Matilda was roaming around when she happened to come across three vampires, her kingdom’s enemy.

She was not prepared for a fight as it was a sudden counterattack.

She fought with two of them and pushed them back but suddenly the third one jumped on her and just when he was going to attack her a werewolf came from nowhere and fought with such an aura that those vampires got scared and vanished from there.

The werewolf then returned to his human form.

His back was to her.

Just when he turned around Mathilda’s breath hitched for a while as he was so handsome just like some Greek god.

"Are you okay, Beautiful?" He asked with concern.

Matilda composed herself and replied, "yes, I am!"

He helps her stand by giving his hand to her which she accepted at once.

"What are you doing in this area?" He asked out of curiosity.

"It’s dangerous!" He further added with a warning.

"If I didn’t pass by chance, something could have happened to you!" He explained to her.

"Well it’s not like, that I can’t fight, I just couldn’t figure it out today because it was a sudden attack." She replied with her rolling eyes.  

"But still, you need to be very careful my lady!" He replied gently.

"By the way, I am Torpedo, Torpedo Miraculous, the prince of the Shadow clan!" He introduced himself.

"I am Mati...just a commoner." She replied carefully without revealing anything about herself. 

Matilda was doing this on purpose she wanted to hide her identity because people act fake when they come to know that they are talking to the princess so she wanted to test this guy on how will he treat her as a common person.

"Nice to meet you, my lady!" He complimented her.

"Nice to meet you too, and thanks for saving my life!" She replied trying to be grateful somehow.

"It’s my pleasure!" He respectfully bowed

"So where do you live?" He questioned her out of curiosity.

Matilda thought for a second and then replied;

"I live far from here, near an old forest" She replied by keeping her real identity a secret. 

"Oh.. right!…" He replied with slight confusion.

So what are you doing here ..Mr...Torpedo?" She asked further.

"Oh please call me just Torpedo" He replied to act cool.  

"All right Torpedo!," She said.

"Well, I am in search of my mate because I need it for the time being." He said without beating the bush.

Matilda smiled inwardly because he is also on the same goal as her, finding a mate for himself just like she wanted to.

"So why you haven’t found it yet? And why do you need a mate?" She asked as the topic was of her interest. 

"Well… it’s kind of complicated!" He replied with disappointment. 

"Ok, I understand if you don’t want to share...." She replied trying to act nice. 

"No, it’s not like that!" He said hesitantly. 

Matilda wants him to be his mate but one thing she wants to know about is his thoughts about the princess Matilda means herself.

She doesn’t care what his purpose is, she just knows that they both need each other as a mate and that is more than enough for her.

"Do you ever hear of Princess Matilda?" She asked him out of blue.

"That naïve and rude princess? Umm....Yeah, I heard a lot about her! She is so arrogant, ugly, and proud like she owned the world. People fear her! What a witch! I hate her!" He replied with anger.

She was stunned for a second as if she was hearing it right!

She was so angry for disrespecting her like this, she want to beat the shit out of him but she has to put the act so she suppressed her anger.

"Have you ever met or seen her?" She asked her further. 

"No…and I will never do it" He replied with his rolling eyes. 

"How could you judge or hate the person without meeting her? Maybe what people say about her is wrong." She said with a suggestion.

"Why would people lie?" He asked suspiciously. 

"All have the same opinion which means something is this bad about her!" He said

"What if you are wrong about her?" She asked out of nowhere. 

"I am sure I am not...but wait why are you asking about her? Are you her relative or what?" He asked her suspiciously.

"No, I am just defending another woman..." She replied. 

"Oh right…but don’t do it because she is exactly like what I described it to you." 

Wait, Man! you are going to pay for your words later...for now, enjoy your peacetime, Matilda said inwardly.

But one thing that bothers her is that if he has this point of view about her then how can she have him as a mate?

One idea crosses her mind which brought a mischievous smile to her face.

(Torpedo’s POV)

I promised my Dad that I would find myself a mate.

Now, where shall I find her?

Is she even exist?

It’s been ages I am looking for her!

But seems like she hasn’t landed on the planet yet..hahaha

Torpedo was walking in his zone when he observed a girl who was being attacked by three vampires.

Although she was fighting great, one vampire jumped on her and was going to attack her.

 The torpedo couldn’t stay back and turn to his werewolf form. He howled loudly and jump in between the girl and the vampires while taking the damn vampire off her.

He beat the one who was attacking her and howled at him angrily that all the vampires got scared and vanished like a coward.

Heh..what a coward creature, he smirked.

He turned back to his human form and turned to look at the woman who was just going to die if it wasn’t for him.

She is damn beautiful Man! The moment he laid her eyes on her, his heart couldn’t resist admiring her personally.Wow, beauty with bravery!

Oh, I must help her get up.

She was eyeing him stunned.

Maybe she is still in shock that she is alive, He laughed inward.

Oh...I must ask for her well-being.

He asked about her well-being by being gentle and sweet.

She told him that she is fine.

He took a sigh of relief.

He asked her what she was doing in this kind of dangerous place as it could be life-risking.

She said she is not afraid to fight them but today she went a bit unlucky.

Well yeah, miss I noticed your bravery…the way you were fighting was worth praising, he said inwardly again.

Then he introduced himself to her.

She also introduced herself.

Mati…what a beautiful name just like her personality, he said inward.

He told her that It was good meeting her and then asked for her residence to which she went silent but told me later that she live in the old forest. Then she kept asking me about that hateful princess, making me suspicious about this woman. I must say;

Something is strange about this woman!

Unknown Person's POV:

“Keep your eye on her every action, she is the only daughter of the King and moreover she is just a woman so we can get her so easily we need that throne anyhow for revenge!” A person in a black suit has his fangs out of his mouth filled with blood in order to another person standing beside him with a smirk.  

“Sorry, Sir! We tried our best but she escaped again,” the other person said in an apologetic tone.

“Hmm.....But she wouldn’t be able to escape this time!” He said with a devilish smirk.
