Chapter 4: Hopelessness!

In the Shadow Clan:

(Torpedo’s POV)

“Listen! You can’t be a king if you couldn’t find yourself a mate” Mr. Lycaon demanded from him.

“Uncle! I’m not ready for the mate kind of stuff for now!” He replied rolling his eyes.

“Can’t you hear my words properly?” He shouted on Torpedo.

“Uncle you know that I can be the king without this mate thing!” Torpedo argued with his uncle.

“You know that King will never accept this! When he can’t accept his own daughter as a Queen without a mate then who are you?” He exclaimed further.

“He is your friend, you should talk to him!” He replied sounding very peaceful.

“So you think a friend is more important than a daughter?” He asked mockingly.

"Then tell me!  We can take over his kingdom forcefully, I’m always ready to do this!” He proudly replied with his devilish smile.

 “No, we can’t lose another chance to attack him by staying in the Kingdom. He already forgave our clan a lot of times but I don’t want to lose his trust in us again!” He replied worriedly.

“You don’t need to do anything like this! That will make us lose another chance of grabbing his Kingdom!” He added with a warning.

“What do you think, we are less powerful than him?” He roared as he was fuming with his uncle’s words.

“After all who will save him? He has only a daughter! No son!” Torpedo added further in his mocking yet angry tone.

“And she is more competent than you!” Mr. Lycaon replied with a taunting smirk.

“Who?  That arrogant and ugly princess?” He said with a loud laugh.

Torpedo moved closer to him and stared into his uncle’s eyes and then replied to him with a dark smirk;

“Don’t you dare to compare me with a woman, they are not capable of comparison! The powerless & weak creature of this world!”

 Now I have to start my journey to find a mate!

Torpedo said to himself as soon as he came out of his Uncle’s room who is currently the temporary ruler of the Shadow clan after his brother’s death (The father of Torpedo and his elder brother Falcon). What the heck is happening in my life?? I need a woman to rule over this Kingdom!!  I mean, my friends will surely mock me for this!! The Great Torpedo needs a woman!!! Seriously?!

How will I know who will be my mate? Where is she now!! God, please help me in this!” He asked inwardly with his frustrated look;

Okay? Now I have to roam all around for a woman. People are right! Women are only made to make us go insane!

(Matilda’s POV)                                                                                                                           

Matilda went to the old library with Mateo who managed to get in the library with the help of his close relationship with one of the guards. They searched around for that one book in which Matilda’s similar traits were present but to their surprise, they couldn’t find that book anywhere in the library. Seems like it vanished from the place.

(Unknown Person’s POV)

The person was rocking his chair from side to side with his fingers clicking the side arm of his lavish gold chair. He looked like he was anxiously waiting for something. Soon the door opened and his right hand appeared. He bowed down to him and said;

" Master! "

"We found the book!"

"Good job! She must be looking for it but she will never be able to find it. I will not let her have what she wanted. Burn it! Hahahaha.."his evil laugh echoed throughout the room.

Soon the book was burned as commanded by their master. The guide to Matilda’s fate was turned into ashes.

(Matilda’s POV)

Matilda and Mateo both were tired after turning upside down in the library searching for the book but to their bad luck, it was nowhere to be seen. Matilda was so disappointed and hopeless.

" Now, what should we do your highness?"

Mateo asked sadly knowing that they couldn’t find the book which could help them get rid of this mate condition but now they are hopeless.

"What else! To get a Helly mate!"Matilda said angrily.

"But your highness where we will find a suitable one?"

"Like I know Mateo! Besides, you must be the one telling me how to find a suitable pone instead of asking me. Think hard of a solution Mateo!"

 For a moment of time, she was losing hope for achieving her mere dream but then upon Mateo’s encouragement, she was back to her determination.

"Don’t worry my lady! I believe in you! You don’t need any book to become the queen and to reach your destiny. Your strength and passion are enough for it."

"Thanks, Mateo! You are very encouraging!"

"You are welcome, my lady. Now we need to find a suitable mate for you. Yes, we do. I have prepared a list of eligible mates who are still awaiting for their mate and maybe you will find your match from them."

" Ok, let’s see!"

Matilda and Mateo met numerous mates but none of them matched Matilda's standards and choices. So in the end, Matilda ends up being hopeless again.

"O my highness! I just remember now, that there is a huge party going to be held tonight for all the clan’s eligible bachelors. So, maybe we could find someone there!"

"Ok but first I need to get back home, I am so tired Mateo!"

"Yes, your highness!"

On their way back home when they were passing through the mountains, suddenly three vampires jumped from behind the bushes and attacked Matilda.

They didn’t harm Mateo as they were on a purpose target and it seems it was only Matilda.

Matilda was with the sword but she was not ready for the fight because it was a sudden attack.

But still, she fought bravely with them but suddenly one vampire jumped on her.

"Ready to die!" The vampire said evilly.

He pressed Matilda’s neck and was choking her when a horrible growl came from the surroundings scaring all.
