The crunching of gravel reminded her of the sound the hammer made as it ended her life. The love of her life celebrating the divorce like she was such a burden on him. The gentle breeze sending shivers up her spine much like the feeling of loneliness as she sat there in the courtroom. The love of her life kissing a mistress off somewhere not even caring the women he once loved was broken. No one cared, no one showed up to support her. She crouched down as tears fell from her face. She wanted to hide to be rid of all this pain. She couldn’t believe a man she loved so much did all of this to her.
A ball of fluff came bouncing towards her and wiggling into her lap. Its nose gently sliding up to the crook of her neck as her memory was broken. She smiled down at the small 6 month old malamute puppy. Her fingers running through it’s pure white fur as she held its crystal blue eyes with her own. This and 15 thousand dollars was all she had from the marriage. He took everything, there house, there business, and the rest of the money they had which was well over a few hundred million dollars.
“She can not bare me a child.” Was his excuse for the divorce. She wanted to, she was healthy and everything but she never got pregnant. No mater how many times they did it or how much special help she got she never could conceive. The puppy felt her tears and instantly licked them away. This caused her to giggle as she lifted her head.
The forest was quiet this early morning. The sun hadnt quite come up and over the horizon yet but it's light lit the small dew drops on the tree branches. This felt like home to her. Being out in nature away from the humans. She felt so at peace like she meant to belong here. She just couldn’t explain it, the doctors told her it may be from her past. Something that she didn’t even remember, something she wished she could.
Rising she lifted the puppy with her as her feet walked towards a tree. Placing her hand upon it she smiled. It felt so at peace, like it was just starting to wake up. Her puppy barked happily causing a squirrel to start screaming at them. This caused her to giggle as she pulled her hand from the tree to cover her mouth slightly to muffle it. She didn’t want to wake any more of the forest before it was ready to. The puppy whined as she was placed on her feet.
“Come Alaska,” Her voice gentle as she spoke. She tucked her strand of red hair behind her ear. Her beautiful long Wavy hair was braided back with this single strand outlining her face. Her olive green eyes scanning the forest ground for the small wagon. The sun beaten read still gave off its glow a small distance away. She quickly ran to it knowing it had been stopped by a root. Her delicate piano fingers brushed over everything to make sure it was all still safe before a sigh escaped her beautiful natural face.
The gentle breeze hit her skin causing her to shiver. She knew she should have bought a sweater. With her getting nothing but the money and the puppy she had to buy everything. Even new underwear., though she didn’t mind. She needed some new ones anyways. She got her photos and some things she treasured but that was it and even those she didn’t want anymore. She pawned them off and took the money. Her whole life was that man, she really remembered nothing but him.
For three years she suffered with the memory loss. Not knowing who you where not knowing where your from was agonizing. It was trail and error on food for the longest of time till she found what didn’t make her sick. And then the whole weird feeling she was missing something. She has gotten over that but there are still times it comes back.
Her eyes dropped down to her leg where Alaska was trying to get her attention. She smiled allowing all of her thoughts go as she leaned down once again. Alaska jumped into her arms and snuggled in tight as her mom leaned her cheek I to her fluff.
“What would I do with out you my girl.” She gently spoke as she gathered the wagons handle and began down the path once more. The creepy forest most people would call it was where she was walking. She had enough of humans and needed this reset. She came across it the first year she was married. When things got to crazy she left for the forest. It welcomed her and soothed her she went back as a whole new women. She knew if she had to she would stay here till she died. It was the one place that never did any harm to her.
He laid on the floor of that old ford van. The driver being careless as he took corners. His body being tossed this way and that. He didn’t care, his heart was broken. The pain of loosing someone you love so much and not really sure how. He keeps running over that day, trying to figure out what happened. She was right behind him. She was there, but as he turned she was gone.
He raced to her kingdom in search of her. He had hoped that maybe someone called her. He was distracted talking to someone that was calling him home. His fear setting in when he found she wasn’t. Her parents enraged, specially her father who blamed her disappearance on him. He didn’t stay long. He raced home to look for her there but she wasn’t there either. His heart began to look through the humans for her. His heart wasn’t ready to see what he saw.
As the sun rose he spotted a blot of blood on the forest floor. The animals crying in pain around it. He even felt the atmosphere was off. Reaching down he realized the blood dint belong to no human. The clear liquid that mixed with the red where that of a Fairy and Mermaid. He knew right there something had happened to one of there members. The purple fabric of her dress scattered causing his heart to break. It was her blood. It was her that was torched.
His screamed where heard all the way to his kingdom where his parents began to worry. They sent out there guards bit none of them could find him. When they returned his parents knew they had to make the journey to the fae kingdom. They where Alright with him falling in love but they where skeptical of the fae. The argument broke out and war began between the already thin line friendship.
He never returned home, and for years he searched for her praying she didn’t die. Praying she was here somewhere. He couldn’t lose her, she was his everything. Her beautiful blond hair that flowed down her back, her olive green eyes that held such mystery, her beautiful angelic face. His heart breaking just at the thought of her. He had lost her, he took his eyes off her for a second and she disappeared. He swore he would never, he swore he would always have all eyes on her. And now she was gone.
He searched for three years in ever hospital, praying he would find something. Praying he would find her. Each no was driving him to keep going, driving him to find her. It also gave him some relief that maybe it wasn’t her blood. Day and night he searched, sleeping and eating only when he needed to. His body going from the muscular man to nothing but lean. He kicked himself every day but there was nothing he could do. Taking a moment away to keep up with himself.
Entering the last hospital in the area his heart soared. He felt she was here, he could feel her presence but he wasn’t prepared for what he was to hear. The nurse told him she had left and it killed him. The way she said it he knew left meant deceased. The nurse was called causing her to look away from him and towards the voice. With a head nod she looked back to him to see he was gone. She shook her head and left. She didn’t have time to run after him, specially not in the emerge side.
He broke down and cried, his pain being felt by animal, plant and human alike as his elements went out of control. Everyone stayed clear as they called in proper authorities who sedated him and handed him over to the lab. He didn’t care, he didn’t feel death was right for him. He was meant to suffer and he would take it. He list the love of his life, he lost the princess of Fae and most of all he caused the war between the two kingdoms.
He free did as the scientist asked him. He took the pain they forced on him. The whip marks on his back still oozing, his arm looked like a drug addicts but most of all his body felt like someone had run him over but he still didn’t care. He wanted more pain, he wanted to suffer because he felt if he did it would ease his pain. He didn’t know the suffering she went through before death, he didn’t care he just wanted to suffer. He felt it was only right after losing her.
The van hit a rock sending him airborne before he smashed down hard onto the floor. The driver just chuckling as he hit another bump causing the man in the back to hit the floor again. With a smirk he took the corner tight sending his body against the side wall. He was driving like a mad man. His boss demanding it though. They where trying to see how much torcher he would put up with before he snapped.
They wanted access to his gifts, they wanted to study those and see if humans could gain them. They had plucked his scales, one by one, and studied them. Nothing showed up other then that of what you found on fish. They tested his blood both in and out of water and nothing. It was like his gifts where locked away. There only solution was his anger triggered them. They have done everything in there power to anger him. They even forced him to get back into shape the not so hard way and nothing. He was even getting discouraged but had to do as he was asked.
The tied up man closed his eyes as he tried to breath. His body was bad, but he couldn’t die. The whip marks on his back had reopened as he felt the blood begin to trickle down his back. They had broken his ribs in a few spots that felt like they have been rebooked, due to not enough time to heal and the force he was rolling around in the back. He felt a finger or two hanging from the last corner due to it being his back he hit and his hands where back there. He was starting to see spots from the many times his head hit hard against the wall but still there was nothing he would do. He has locked his powers away or he knew they would have protected him on there own accord.
Something gently sparked in him as they rounded the corner. A feeling that had disappeared so long ago in the hospital. He eyes shot opened as he tried to lift his head to look out the front. His body did not respond but the feeling was still there.
“You still awake back there.” The driver chuckled. He now knew he wasn’t dreaming. It was the slightest feeling but it was a feeling one he didn’t want to discard but knew it was probably for the better. Though his mind was okay to push it away his heart was not. It beat for that feeling. He tried to rise but nothing worked. His body was to weak. “hoho dirt trail. This will really get you rattled.”
He stopped all attempts to move. He new it was useless. His body was damaged beyond compare. He even pushed that feeling from his heart knowing it wasn’t anything useful. She was dead, he could never bring her back from the dead. Plus even if it was here, he was probably the last person she would ever want to see.
The driver excitedly took the van tight around a dirt corner causing the tail to fish tail. As it did the back doors opened and whipped the man in the back out. His body hit the ground hard causing him to wince as he rolled. Every rock and stick pierced his skin before he hit the small Clift causing him to be air born before the ice cold water hit his body. He cringed as the cold water creeped into every part of him. He thought he would change but due to the damage given to his tail it didn’t appear.
As the darkness around his started settling in he knew this was his end. He knew he was about to join the love of his life. He regretted so much but he knew there was nothing that could be done. That regret was everything he should have done with her or for her. It would never be forgiven nor give able. He had to wait till they where reunited. He prayed he was strong enough to survive till then.
“Alaska,” Her beautiful chimes rang out after the fluff that took off. She just smirked as she slowly rose from where she was enjoying the afternoon sun. She had found a clearing where they decided to take rest. The trees surrounded the area, giving her protection from the wind. The brush hiding the paths out as animals secretly watched her. They where intrigued a human with as much Grace and beauty would be in there forest. They did not feel threatened by her nor did they feel she would ruin there peaceful home. She gently stepped away from the clearing following the path her puppy had run down. It waited for her to follow before leaving a short distance. She just giggled as she ran after it. The forest giving her peace knowing nothing was here to harm her. She could open herself freely and be who she felt most a peace with. The gentle breeze blew the feeling of water causing excitement to bubble in her. She loved water, weather from the tub or the small happy mo
Her eyes gently fluttered open as a chill ran through her. She found herself laying on the cool forest floor. Slowly sitting up she looked around before the evenings events played over in her mind. She quickly rose to Yelp as her knees spiked in pain. The small bruises have worsened and her pants where not big enough to support the swelling. They suffocated them, pressing on a few spots spiking the pain. She wanted to cry but knew she couldn’t.Her eyes fell on the dying embers, her heart dropped as she looked over at the man. His chest rose and fell which gave her some relief. Pushing through the pain she rose and walked over to the fire where, which little difficulty, got the flames going once more. The beautiful orange, yellow and read flames light lit the small area well as the sun was slowly coming up and over the horizon. The forest animals scurried around looking for shelter for the night. Alaska was chasing a rabbit in her sleep and the bird began the mor
She carefully placed the baskets down as her fingers sorted through the food. There had to be something in here she could feed him. With a sigh he fingers finally fell on a container of mashed potato’s. She quickly pulled it out as well as the BBQ chicken. She knew he might not be able to chew but she would break the pieces up quite small he wouldn’t need to but his body would at least get some protein.Alaska whined happily as she watched her mom pull apart the chicken ever so gently. She wanted a piece, it looked so deliciously juicy. She really didn’t know what it was but it looked good and that all that mattered to her. She smiled looking over at her puppy watching her. With a firm grasp she pulled off a bigger piece and threw it over. Alaska quickly jumped on it and began to bark happily. The taste was something she never tasted before.Getting the fire going once more she placed some of the mashed potato’s and chicken onto a rock close by
Her fingers where like Angel kisses as he relished in her touch. She worked quickly with his bandages, following her friends strict instructions. She was so careful he fell asleep half way through causing her own heart to calm. He needed the sleep, he had to heal. Gently binding of the tensor she got up and started the fire once again. After a few moments it roared to life, burning the log like its life depended on it.Alaska happily barked as her tail began to wiggle. She spotted another human further in the woods. Anya was on her feet worried. If the scientist followed them he was in danger. Grabbing a blanket she gently laid it over him before walking to the edge of the clearing. Took a moment but her eyes adjusted and saw them walking up to her.“Top of the morning to you Ma'am.” He spoke being a fine gentlemen. You could tell the years haven’t been to kind to him. His hands where callused and ruff as he shook her gentle soft ones. His beard was s
There trek was slow and painful. Anya did the best she could hiding her pain from Derek’s watchful eyes. She stopped her self only when the sun was high in the sky to eat and check his bandages. She was happy none of them where bleeding through, she however didn’t like the look of her own knees. They where swollen and painful. She was starting to think they left to soon.Alaska was worried about he mommy. She could fell the pain she was in but there was nothing she could do. When they stopped she would find a way to kiss her moms cheek whom would laugh and smile. She knew it wasn’t much but it was something. When they walked she would help push with her little head. Anya was happy for it, it allowed for the slightest pressure to be taken of her knees. It wasn’t much but it was something.Derek watched as Anya worked hard to get them to safe. If it wasn’t for him they should have to be moving. They could be resting in the last clearing. He
Anya woke up well rested. She gently moved away from Derek before stretching. Though sore, ever muscle welcomed the stretch. This made her smile as she got up to start breakfast. Derek, pretending to be asleep, wanted to protest her leaving his side. She fit there so well and made the not so comfortable ground comfortable. He didn’t do anything though, he didn’t know if he could. She was so broken, he could feel it.Alaska happily bounced after her mom. Picking up small sticks in her mouth and bringing them to her. Anya happily accepted them as she started to build the fire once more. Alaska happily bounced around Anya till her ears caught movement. She froze before bounding off into the long grass.“Stay close Alaska.” Anya gently called as she gathered some eggs. She was going to make another scrambled for them this morning before organizing there stuff. The two wagons where not working out like she though. She hopped she could still keep the two
Anya woke up the next morning refreshed. She hadn’t slept like this in a while. Snuggling up to Derek he moaned happily. Her smile turned into a frown as the previous day all hit her at once. He held her tight fearing the worst even though he knew she could brake his hold. He was exhausted and hungry. Two things that where wearing on him harshly. What was worse is he didn’t want to see her collapse again.“No please.” He pleaded when he felt her try and rise. She stopped however and laid back down. She couldn’t deny him, specially after he did save her. She couldn’t figure out how but she knew it had to do with something he had been hiding. Maybe he used something the scientist had wanted from him.“I'm sorry.” Her voice caused him to calm down completely. He smiled as he moved his head to look at her. She looked up to catch his eyes with a smile of her own.“Its okay, I just cant take you collapsing again. So plea
She happily watched him remove the contents off the spoon. His lips carefully enclosing around it so nothing would fall. He chewed slowly and carefully. He didn’t want any of it to choke him for it would cause her worry. Something he wished to stay away from. She was already worried about enough. He was however excited to explain to her everything he knew about his history. She however wouldn’t let him till he had completely finished his food.Alaska happily pulled her bowl that had been filled with food over so she was closer to her mommy. So much had gone on for her she felt safest being close. Neither one minded. She was growing on Derek to the point he knew when they parted ways he would miss her. He would miss Anya more but he knew a human would never be welcomed in his house. His mother extremely against them though he wasn’t sure why.“Easy.” Anya spoke putting the plate down and lifting him as he coked gently. He tried to wave her off
A chill settled in when she felt Derek let her go. She wanted to complain but she just wasn’t able to. Her body betrayed her as she fought for it to do something. She knew he was about to do something stupid. She fought for a while before she heard the first gun shot. Her body stilled.“Easy Anya, he’s okay. I promise he’s okay.” Andrew cooed to her trying to comfort her. He knew she was partially awake but prayed she would fall back asleep. This wasn’t looking good for Derek.“Der…”“He’s just roughing up the bad guys. We will rest right after okay.” Andrew stopped her. As she opened her eyes he stiffened. She may not fully hear what was going on but Andrew could. His hands were over her ears trying to keep everything that was being done at ba
The cold water began to suffocate her as she tried to fight her way to the surface. She felt a pressure, not only on her back, but that of her legs as well. The night sky not helping her any as she was being flipped this way and that by the harsh waves. Anya had no idea where she was or why she was here. She wished that info would come.‘Help.’ Her voice was so weak as the last of the air escaped her lungs. She prayed someone would hear her. Out of the dark swam a fish. She began to reach for it hoping it was large enough to help her. The beautiful deep green scales flashing in the light as his hands reached out for her. This startled her. No fish had hands. This fish lips soon captured hers giving her air to which she gladly took. He released her lips to let her blow out before he took her lips to his again. A spark fall
Derek quickly swam toward the surface hoping to catch the intruder's eye. He had to protect his fairy. Her life depended on it as he broke the surface. His hair now a forest green and his shirt gone. The six pack they forced him to keep was on display. He used to have an eight pack. Something he swore he would get back now that his girl had been found.“There he is.” Someone yelled. Derek smirked knowing they would now follow him. He used the water and got onto land. His legs becoming known as he began to run amongst the trees. When they caught up to him the earth took over helping him keep ahead using little to no energy. He knew he had to be careful. He still had to get Anya to safe place once he got away from them.“Come on guys. Your slow.” Derek annoyed the men as they growled in response. He knew they were getting frustrated. He ha
As the sun began to set, so did her eyes. She held her puppy close as the trees cushioned her safely. They didn’t want their princess to fall, especially from the height she was at. Alaska snuggled into her mommy as gently as she could. She wanted to make sure her fluff covered as much of her as it could for warmth. As the sun fell behind the horizon Derek’s heart broke. He let her go, took his eyes off her once more and now here he was. The tears began to fall down his cheeks as his knees hit the dirt softly. He should have just died in their hands. He should have let himself be killed then this would have never happened. She would be safe in the arms of a man that can actually keep her safe.A doe stepped out from behind a tree and pushed him. His pain was radiating out and she knew why. The answer in her eyes as she looked down into his green one
“Come, breakfast is ready.” Anika spoke gently, stepping close to Derek. Her arms reached by him and scooped up her son. When he was safely tucked on her left hip she placed her right hand on his shoulder. “The table is right there. You can see her from there.”“I can’t eat without her.” He gently spoke, stroking the back of her hand with his thumb praying she woke soon. For a woman he has only known a few days he was so attacked. Something he knew he shouldn’t be as his girl was out there somewhere.“You need to. Derek, she needs you strong. If you stop eating and healing you will be back to square one. She needs you.” Anika gently spoke to him trying to comfort his troubled heart. “Plus you're not even leaving the room because you will be right there.”
Anya slowly started to feel the warmth of her body as it lay comfortable on the supportive mattress. A small weight in her stomach caused no discomfort. She could smell the fresh dew that lay on the grass outside and the night animals heading to their burrows. The morning chickadee’s singing their sweet melody. She smiled warmly before realizing she wasn’t in the tent. Shooting up her eyes scanned the area as panic raced through her. She had no idea where she was or how she got here. The fear of the hospital room coming back to her as her breaths came in heaves. Her chest starts to get heavy as yet another panic attack strikes. Alaska began barking causing Derek to jump up. “Its okay.” He cooed as his arms snaked around her. She jumped at his touch but as soon as she saw who it was she turned in his embrace to hold him.
Derek bolted up, sweat dripping down every part of his body as he gasped for breath. The nightmare that he has lived with is coming back worse. Not only is it him losing the princess but now losing Anya as well. His heart and mind can't take too much more of this. He just wanted to die every time it happened. His eyes fell on the Angel beside him and he sighed. He had to fight it because he promised her he would. He snuggled down to her as he sighed. He should go and shower. He was sticky and gross. She didn’t need this beside her. Rising gently he made sure to replace his body with a pillow. Alaska replaced his head area for him as he walked to the door. His eyes stayed on her as he went. The food on the table tempted him as a smile formed. He was so hungry and knew he would love to let the fluffy eggs and golden brown hash browns fill the void but the n
Derek woke from his nightmare covered in sweat. His breaths came in pants as he looked over to a sleeping Anya. His fears slightly disappeared as he gazed upon her peaceful face. He rose gently and walked over to remove the lone strand that fell. He was so lucky to meet someone like her. Caleb snuggled up to her side peacefully sleeping just looked so right. He wished her child was there however.Turning he walked out of the room and down the stairs. Anika was there waiting for him which startled him a little. She couldn’t contain the laugh that rolled out of her. However it was quiet so as to not wake the fairies in the house. Derek just scowled at her.“Sorry but your face was priceless.” She said trying to contain her fits. Once she was able to, she continued. “What are you doing here so early?”
Anya began to stumble backwards as the pain began to seep in. She couldn’t believe it. She was so careful and here she was. The little boy in her arms began to stir as her one arm dropped from him. Her feet tripped, sending her over the edge.“Anya,” Derek screamed as he managed to get up from the wagon. His own pain filled his heart as yet he failed another woman he cared for. He couldn’t reach her in time nor could his gifts help in his state. His mind was blank as he watched her disappear into the darkness.“Well I at least got the element bender.” The boss angrily snapped. “Kill the other two.”“No.” Anika cried but as they got close a spike of ice stopped them. Derek turned to them, tears flowing down his cheeks.
