-not as a queen, or a person

Blue's Pov;

"Are you really that happy?" Sarah asked, placing her head on the right side of my shoulder, as she stared at me through the mirror.

I looked away, my cheeks morphing into a deep red color. "Woah! Don't tell me the great Blue Flames, is actually blushing!" She exclaimed, teasingly.

I hid my face away in my palm, giggling in excitement. "That's enough Sarah, or my cheeks will burst." I voiced, trying to regain my composure, rubbing my cheeks lightly, but the events of last night swarmed in my head once more, and I blushed even harder.

"You said I should stop, but your cheeks are getting even redder." She commented, grinning from ear to ear. "Oh my goodness! Don't tell me that's what you are actually thinking about—"

"Stop it Sarah." I laughed out, blushing even more.

It is not my fault that I can't seem to think of anything else, but Wilder's hands all over my body, his tongue lashing deep into my pussy, while his hands holding onto me all night.

"Where the hell is my princess?? What have you done to her??"

"Shut up, Sarah!" I uttered, laughing hysterically.

"No, I—" Sarah was interrupted by a knock on the bedroom door. She stared at me and I shrugged in response. Then— "Do you think it's the king? I mean- I woke up this morning—"

"Your highness,"

That was Rose's voice. I really thought it was Wilder.

Why did he leave in the morning? I wanted to open my eyes and see his carefully sculpted face first. Why did he have to leave, without even leaving a message?

With my shoulders dropped in disappointment, I yelled. "Come in, Rosemary."

After a few seconds, Rose walked in with five female servants behind her. Two of the servants hurriedly started cleaning up my room after greeting me, and the remaining three female servants stood behind Rose.

"Your highness, I want you to meet Stella. When I am not here to serve you, or somehow caught up with other duties. Stella would be by your side to help you with whatever you need." Rose explained, and Stella stepped forward and greeted, "Your highness."

"But for now, we are here to get you ready for the day." She informed me, then moved to take out clothes from the big wardrobe in my bedroom. I didn't even know I had clothes. Wow.

The next few minutes was centered on me getting ready. My bath was drawn, and with the help of the servants, I got ready.

With the way I was dressed, my make-up, my jewelry, I knew that I would be meeting with the king, my husband. My excitement rose up to a notch, and I couldn't contain it as we exited my chamber.

Rosemary led me out of my bedroom, down the hallway and then stopped in front of two gigantic doors.

"Your majesty." The guards in front of the doors bowed, while bowing their heads. Then they opened the door, and I literally rushed with huge anticipation and excitement.

I halted, the moment I couldn't find Wilder anywhere in the room, which actually turned out to be a dining room with an overly long table in it. All kinds of delicacies had been placed on the dining table, and even if all these years one of my biggest wishes was to taste all the food the world had to offer, I am afraid to say— but at that very moment, the food didn't look enticing at all.

"Where is he?" I asked Rose, turning around to stare at her.

"Where is who? Your majesty?"

"The king. Where is the king?" I responded, but in a clearer term.

"I am sorry, my Queen, but I do not know."

I huffed in disappointment, "Surely, you do not expect me to eat alone. Right?"

She remained muted, she didn't say a word. It was just pure silence in the dining room.

"Right?" I voiced once more, now irritated.

"I have no answer, My Queen." She replied, bowing her head.

I dragged out the chair before me, and sat down angrily. "Uhm, maybe he is running late. I don't think the king would miss breakfast." Sarah assured me, she could tell I was about to lose my cool and shoot a fireball at Rose.

"He wouldn't, right?" I responded, hopefully. "Yes, of course!" Sarah exclaimed.

He did!

He missed breakfast, and I sat down there for hours looking like a fool. I waited for him.

I stood up slowly in a robotic manner, "I am not hungry Rose, I won't be eating." I passed across calmly.

"Clear the table." Rose ordered, and then rushed after me as I exited the dining room.

We walked to my room in silence, troubling thoughts filled up my head and I couldn't chase them out. Halfway to the room, I halted and called out, "Rose!"

"Yes, your majesty." She answered, standing next to me.

"What are my duties?" I asked, turning to stare at her.

"None that I know of." She answered, her semblance revealing that she had been thrown into a bit of confusion by my question.

"Are you saying that I don't have duties?" I questioned, my tone accusing.

"You are the queen, and as one, you do not have any duty," She clarified.

"Hmm." I nodded, slowly in understanding but a bit confused.

I'm guessing things are done differently in Night Shade Pack. Back in the Crescent Moon pack, my mother, the queen, had a lot of duties. My mother had no time to spare, and even when she did, her frivolities were meant to benefit the Pack.

"Okay, so what do I have planned out for the day?"

Rose gulped hesitantly, as if debating with herself on her next choice of words. "You have nothing, my queen."

I stared for a few seconds, her words replayed in my head over and over again. Why? That was all I could come up with. Why?

"I am the queen, Rose. I just got enthroned!" I exclaimed in disbelief. Laughing in hysteria, "Surely, I should have things to attend to, people to greet, meetings to—"

"Ah! She sees herself as an important person of the court, simply because she got married to the king." I heard a voice I recognize so well, say from behind me.

I turned around and faced the owner of the voice, and just as I had thought, it was indeed my husband's ex-fiancée. Scarlett Roman, as I had been informed.

Scarlett walked over to where I stood slowly, taking her time... one step at a time. She is intentionally keeping me waiting. She finally halted in front of me, with a grin gracing her lips, "I will have to burst your bubbles, newly enthroned queen." She grinned even more, then whispered in my ear, "Nobody wants you here, not as a queen or a person."

She stepped backwards, still having her annoying smile plastered on her lips. She bowed, "I will have to take my leave now, your majesty." She raised her head up and stared at me in the eye. "Because unlike you, I have duties, people to greet and meetings to attend."

Smirking at me once more, she left.

Normally, I would think her hostility towards me was merely because I had snatched away her man, but no. I could tell it was something more, something more that would make a queen not have duties.

Scarlett's POV:

"They are waiting, my princess." Ken informed me as he opened the door, bowing slightly.

"Thank you, Ken." I appreciated, passing through the open doors, with Harriet following closely behind me.

"You are late, princess." Sir Alfred voiced, he is the most influential man in Night Shade Pack.

"My sincere apology, Lord Alfred, I had a bit of an unpleasant meeting with the queen." I explained, frowning. There's a total of five Lords in the room, and with their help, I would be able to reclaim the throne that was stolen from my people.

"Speaking of the queen, has her marriage to the king been consummated?" He asked, staring at me with deep interest.

"Yes." I answered, nodding my head. To the Lords, this would definitely not be good news for them. They wanted me to get married to the king, and bear his child. But I wanted nothing with a man who killed my parents, took over the throne and, for years, made my people suffer. He is nothing but a monster, and I want no part in his monstrosity.

"Are you sure?" Lord Cecil asked.

"Yes, I made sure to witness it myself." I answered firmly.

"Hmm. Now that their marriage has been consummated, if she gives birth to a child, that would be a problem for us. We have to take out the queen, and then we have to be on track with the original plan. Making you the queen of Night Shade Pack." Sir Alfred said, and I bit down on my lower lip, wondering if I should part with what was on my mind or bury it.

"What if we kill the king?" I asked, gulping nervously. "And before you refused, I know that you wanted me to bear his child, hoping that a powerful bloodline would come from him. But I don't think that's possible, so how about we tone down on our ambitions."

"Kill the king? He can't be killed, and you know that." Lord Ansel voiced, and the other Lords nodded in agreement.

"There's a way. I found a way." I replied, smiling.

"Which is?"

"I found out about a mystical blade that could kill the souls of the wolves in the king's body. If we get rid of the wolf, we get rid of the king."

"Okay. I will let you have your way, Princess. But you cannot fail," Sir Alfred warned.

And I nodded, "there's one more person we need to murder." I informed them.

"And who's this person?" Lord Conrad asked, sitting up.

"The queen."
