LORRIE'S POV. Xander and I walked through the alley laughing at a joke I had just told. We had shopped heavily, but he had insisted he could carry it all by himself. In short, Xander was carrying fifteen shopping bags. He had found a way to pin a few around him, and it had been funny, but looking at it, it seemed adorable."I'm glad we finally ran. That was just the last straw. I never thought he'd harm me. He's a lunatic." I said, thinking of how my head had hurt when those ceramics had smashed on my head."Is your head all healed?" He asked, looking at my hair, and I shook my head to show I was all fine."Come on, it's been a week already." I said, pushing him with my hip, and he staggered with the weight of all the shopping bags, and I laughed. "You're not even that strong." "Try carrying all these." He retorted. We stopped at a grocery store next, and I made sure I carried all the grocery bags, even though he insisted on carrying them.Xander and I had fled to the least place Ra
LORRIE'S POV.For some reason, I got stuck, and couldn't do a single thing. My thoughts were running wild, and it seemed like I was going to go crazy. It was really Athena. The woman standing in front of me in the fancy red suit was Athena! Was I seeing something wrong? Was I dreaming? My heart began to beat faster. I had no cause to be scared, but just by realizing she could see, my mind was turned upside down. Athena… Blind Athena could see. I couldn't deny that she looked scarier when she knew exactly what she was looking at. Those brown eyes had gained a living beauty to them.My lips ran dry, and I couldn't form words. She stared at me continuously, giving me space to take everything in. I looked at her from head to toe, and couldn't believe the finery she was dressed in.White satin shirt with a bow collar, red suit jacket hung on her shoulders gently, matched with red palazzo suit pants, with heels that even I couldn't afford. Her hair was full of pretty pins, and on her nec
ALPHA RAGAS' POVFor days, I drank myself to stupor. I couldn't believe Lorrie, nor could I believe Xander. How could the both of them run with my money? Lorrie had done a lot of things that angered me, but this was too far. I never expected her to go as far as that. How could she steal my money and run? Why in the world would she do that? Her father had refused to see me since the past week. That was shameless. He couldn't take responsibility for his daughter's doings. Thinking about Xander was the worst. I trusted him with everything. Had he and Lorrie been laughing behind my back? Could they have done more harm that I wasn't aware of?But Xander had been so loyal. How could he do such a thing? It was so hard to believe. I really couldn't see Xander betraying me. Why would he betray me? Or maybe it was just me who had ignored all the signs. He had been particularly careful whenever it came to Lorrie, and the times I had thought seriously of divorcing her, he had advised me not to.
ATHENA'S POV.Seeing Lorrie had felt like seeing a stranger, but immediately I caught a whiff of her cologne— a cologne she had terribly loved, and used continuously over the years, I could feel the same feeling I always felt when I was around her. It took me back to memory lane, on a nostalgic ride. The unhappiness, the fear, the cautiousness… It was simply overwhelming, and it felt like I was going to cry just by recalling those miserable days. I blinked immediately. Her first impression of me after all those years, wasn't going to be that of an emotional coward. I wasn't the same woman I used to be. I had grown into what I ought to be.Her voice was the worst. Her voice that I had heard so much. The voice that had been the subject of my nightmares. It was all too much, so I barged past her, and decided to stop thinking, and cut to the chase.Lorrie had been shocked, and I understood that; she even seemed a little tame, but a few minutes after talking to her, I brushed off the wor
LORRIE'S POV.It felt like a bomb had been set off in my heart. Cold sweat broke out on my skin, and the booming of my heart made it seem like the world had ended. Well, maybe it had… It was actually my world that had ended. With a little gasp, I took quick steps away from the door, and bumped into Athena's friend, who was already healing from the scratches I gave her. "No, no…" Could Ragas be with them? What would he be doing? Would he make his way towards me with rage? Would he dig his claws into my tummy, and ask for his money? The fear made it feel like chilled water was filling me up. Then I almost hit myself. I should have still made a run for it. I dashed towards the door again, but when I opened it. There was a cop there, about to ring the doorbell, and I ran back into the house."What are you doing here?" I asked, moving towards the sofas, and the cop regarded me with contempt, before more cops filed in. They were all without uniforms, but I could see their IDs banging on
ALPHA RAGAS' POV.Immediately I saw Lorrie, all the rage I had been barely keeping at bay came flooding out, rising like lava about to burst out from a volcano. She saw me, and I could see the fear on her face. For the first time, she could actually be scared of me. The police had ended up catching Xander. He had stayed hidden, and when he came out, they happened to be passing the route he was to pass, and they caught him. I had spoken to him only for a brief moment because more of my anger was for Lorrie."Okay, okay! I'm sorry! Wait, officer! He's going to kill me. I swear he is. Look at him. Please, wait." She screamed, and I walked towards them angrily. "Ragas, wait! Ragas. You need to calm down." She was talking, but it only made me annoyed. When I got to her, she forced herself to her knees, surprising the cops. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!!" She pleaded, bowing her head low. All I wanted at that moment was to choke the life out of her, but luckily for her, the town people were maki
ALPHA RAGAS' POVThe shards of glass hit my feet, and ankles, slicing them as they bounced past, but I didn't feel the pain. It felt like my heart had stopped, and I could only imagine the pain it would be in when it took another breath. There was Athena, with her lovely brown hair, cascading down her shoulders. Half of her hair was packed in a ponytail, and she had left two handfuls hanging down the sides of her face. She was smiling beautifully as she looked down at an adorable baby boy she carried in her arms, whose mouth was open in a giggle. He had no teeth, but his eyes were a beautiful green. He was bound to have Athena's hair color, as I could see from the picture.Next to both of them was a handsome man. A man I recognized as Alpha Tristan. How… How come? How was Athena married with a kid? Why would Alpha Tristan be her husband? If he was her husband, then why hadn't he said so? How come I was unaware of it? I had been searching for Athena ever since she left Alpha Jeremy, b
ATHENA'S POV.When Lilac had come to me with the news of Alpha Ragas wishing to see me, there had been a little thrum in my heart. I knew he'd eventually find out who I was after my meddling with Lorrie's case, but maybe there was that part of me that doubted it. Alpha Ragas was one of the people that I really didn't want to see. He had forced himself on me, and seeing him made me have thoughts of him doing it again. If anything like that ever happened, I may be unable to stop myself from murdering him. To be honest, I felt really anxious. I even had to take some pills to calm myself down. Lilac had encouraged me not to see him, but I hadn't figured it all out yet. I wanted to think, and see the way out properly. Making a hasty decision never brought out good results. I was unable to sleep that night. I kept pacing in my room, and didn't want Tristan to know about it. If he knew about it, he might not want me to go, and I needed to think. Weighing both options was very important.
