Chapter 2

ELENA

I laughed out maniacally at Henry's words, what was I doing here? Is he even supposed to ask me such a question? “Henry…” as I called out his name, my heart skipped a beat. I was filled with rage and didn't want to speak with him. I had no choice but to address this issue now that I'd found out.

“How long? How long do you plan to hide this from me and deceive me? Henry, we were so perfect, why did you have to ruin it all?” I yelled out loudly, sending punches on his chest. “I hate you, Henry” the tears I fought back started to stream down my face.

“You're causing a scene, Elena. I already told you, I found my mate and I'm in love with her” Henry stated nonchalantly, none of my words mean anything to him.

“Leave here now” he declared, pointing at the door. “No, Henry. I'm not leaving here until I make this bitch pay for her actions” I declared in rage as I hurried toward the woman on the bed. I felt Henry's tight grip on my arm, pulling me backwards. He let go and I fell down on the hard marble floor, twisting my ankles..

“Henry…” I screamed out as an intense feeling hit my chest. I grabbed my chest tightly, almost piercing my fingers into it. “W.. what are you doing? Henry, it hurts” I cried out like a fool. He didn't stop, he continued to hurt me mentally until he was done. I saw him spit blood.

He's just broken our mate bond and marriage vows. How could he? “Henry, you hurt me so much just for her… And do not have to break me to see how vulnerable I am.” I said in a low tone, gathering the little strength I had and standing up.

My legs still hurt, and my body too. I couldn't think of anywhere else to go, the pack I'd lived in for three good years, the place I called home no longer felt like home to me.

The night's rain got intense after a loud thunder clap, I was weak, hurt and totally drenched. My hands trembled as I waited at a nearby bus station waiting to be picked up by my driver. I'd called him earlier before my mobile phone ran out of battery. Gerald was good with tracking, I knew he'd be able to trace me here.

I leaned down, staring downwards, the sound of the rain could no longer be heard and the water drenching my clothes stopped. I looked up, only to realize that he'd come, and was holding an umbrella over me. “I'm here, ma'am,” he said calmly.

Gerald helped me to the car, we waited for a few minutes there. I laid my head backwards resting, I'd refused to change into the clothes he'd brought for me making him very worried. “Luna, where do I take you? We need to see a doctor since you've stayed out in the cold for a while’’ he asked, concerned about my health

“To the pack house, Gerald. I have unfinished business there” I responded and in no time, he started the car.

We arrived at the mansion about an hour later, it was difficult for Gerald to drive in such weather conditions. He led me up to my bedroom, and as soon as I'd arrived there, I noticed that someone was inside my bedroom.

I pushed the door open, my handmaiden appeared behind me, trying to inform me of something, but it was too late as I'd already found out. It was Brianna, Henry had brought her back to the mansion to claim my place obviously.

I stared daggers at the woman standing near my dressing mirror, putting on make-up. Some of my things had been moved out of the bedroom as I carefully observed. “Elena, you look surprised that this happened” she said to me as a bright smirk appeared on her lips. Stroking her hair backwards, she stood up and came towards me.

I turned to Lola. “Where is the Alpha?”

“M.. ma'am, he's having a meeting, he'd be here soon” she immediately responded. I smiled, turning to the cunning fox in front of me. “Brianna, you've snatched my husband and also ruined my marriage. Aren't you scared that I might harm you?” I questioned her, she looked at me confusedly.

Brianna took a few steps backwards while I got closer, putting an end to the gap between us. I laughed out, seeing cold sweats scattered all over her makeup filled face.

“Do not lay your hands on me, Elena. Henry wouldn't spare you” she stated.

“You must be so stupid to think that I care about Henry at this point. My response was brief” I threw my hands forward, grabbing her neck and choking her while Lola tried to stop me.

“Luna, please stop. Please” Lola cried out with quivering hands but I was too angry to listen. I continued until a pair of strong hands grabbed and stopped my actions. Henry pushed me off on the floor and I hit my waist hard again.

“Argh” I exclaimed in pain and my eyes were filled with shock as I stared at him.

“Elena, you're going too far with this! If I didn't interrupt you, you would've killed Brianna” he yelled out in rage.

“Get your woman out of my bedroom, Henry.” I retorted.

“Elena, you're such a shameful woman. You couldn't even bear me a child, now, you're trying to kill the only woman who did that for me. How dare you?”

Henry was trying to sound like the victim here but I was less concerned with how he felt.

“Henry, let's get a divorce” I said out breathlessly. Lola helped me to stand up.

“Fine, then I'll get my lawyer to prepare the documents and send them to you tomorrow morning” Henry declared.

“Henry, my stomach hurts. She almost killed our baby. Aren't you going to punish her?” Brianna said in a calm tone, rubbing her hands on Henry's chest.

“There's no need for any of that, Anna. She's already so pitiful. Let's go” he leaned, carrying her outside in bridal style leaving the room.

My legs were too numb to stand, I collapsed on the ground immediately shivering coldly. I still hadn't changed my clothes. “Luna, are you okay?” Lola asked me.

I shook my head. “No, Lola. I need a change of clothes” my voice almost faded as I spoke..
