"It's Violet right?" He's close to her as he speaks, his hand on her all the while as though they were old friends. Ezra watches from afar, the energy in the room suddenly having shifted as he touches her. He felt his jaw tighten for reasons that evaded him as he watches the new man's hand planted firmly on her with no intention of moving.
"Umm yea, Brandon."
"Be my pong partner? We got next game."
"Sure, Suze?"
Suzie's eyes were occupied, Darren finally made an appearance. His auburn locks were hard to miss, he was tan with dark, fiery hair and bright blue eyes. He was quite attractive, Violet might have taken an interest in him if Suzie hadn't seen him first. Then again, they were perfect for each other so maybe not, they were both loud and friendly and at times obnoxious. No two people were more suited for one another, this Violet was sure of, which was why she was a bit annoyed at him for dragging his feet with Suzie.
"I'll catch up to you later Vi," as soon as Brandon turned his back she grabbed Violet, "You got this girl!"
"You too!" Violet's eyes darting to Darren as she whispered back.
For reasons that escaped him, Ezra decided to follow her as she followed the guy that seemed to change things in the atomosphere. Like he injected a dark aura into the air aound them with a foul taste to it. Casor was close on his tail, fury painting his face.
"What are you doing Ez? You know the rules, your being foolish!"
"I'm just changing locations Cas, relax."
Violet was actually excited to play with Brandon, she was still half in shock that he had actually approached her requesting her company and even more so he actually knew her name, that meant that he had previously been aware of her at some point in time. She was even more thrilled because she happened to be quite good at beer pong, her high school party days had pretty much revolved around the sport, it was just that a popular sport played by one and all. Any opportunity to show off in front of Brandon was welcome. She only breifly noted the stranger in front of her on the opposite end of the table that had moved from the keg's resting place to here. Her eyes were on him, roaming over him, his eyes seemed to be on her as well. He was tall and lanky in a fashionable way. His ear lobes held small black gages, not over sized, massive gages that repulsed Violet, but a size that suited his ears nicely. The tattoo sleeve covering his toned arm was mostly black ink that seemed to weave in and out mincing with his light skin color. The dark hair hung waved, just past his ears, he wore a simple band tee shirt, Guns N Roses, and jeans. How had she not noticed this guy earlier, he was downright dreamy and he couldn't seem to take his eyes off of her. His eyebrow was quirked, a half grin painted his carefully sculpted face. For a minute she could completely forget the other attractive guy standing next to her, you know the one she'd pratically been drooling over for the entire semester, the new stranger posed a much more interesting conquest though.
"Violet you ready?" Her attention was drawn back to Brandon as he handed her the ball, "I'll let you do the toss off to see who goes first." She smiled, once again she was really glad she was good at this trivial game, an opportunity to show off was jsut that, no matter the situation. She was only now glancing at their opponents, she somehow missed the fact that Macy was standing across from her giving her one of the dirtiest looks she'd ever seen on someone so pretty. The reasons behind the death stare went completely over Violet's head, she couldn't really be that bothered just because Brandon was playing with someone besides her, when he had apparently been glued to her most of the night. Macy was partnered with a guy name Blaine, good looking guy, unfortunately his personality didn't match his good looks. He was in Violet's modern history class and tended to be pretty obnoxious, the kind of guy that cared more about the experience of college than the actual degree they were all supposed to be getting. Macy was shooting against Violet first.
Violet won first for her side of the table and if she had thought Macy's look was bad before she was mistaken, Macy had turned downright red when Brandon grabbed Violet's waist pulling her closer to him in celebratory gesture.
The game kicked off with Violet scoring the first cup, Macy glaring at her over the cups the entire game was pretty much how that went. It didn't take long for Violet's side of the table to win, Brandon being an equally good partner almost took the fun out of it, after all it was a fun way to get drunk, and the other side had only made four of the sixteen cups. Violet had found that along the way of the game Brandon was getting familiar with his hand on her waist. Her eyes had more than a few times made their way towards the stanger who hadn't seemed to move an inch. He was leaned up against the wall having been joined by a blonde that nearly matched his own looks. Where the hell did these guys come from? Better yet where had she been that she'd never even once seen these guys around. Faris was after all a really small college town, most of the occupants here were in one or another involved in the school, and yet this was the first time she'd laid eyes on either one of them.
Maybe it was the alcohol speaking to her finally, but there was just something positively fascinating about the dark, dreamy stranger. She was barely paying attention to Brandon who was right at her side, the stranger had thrown off her mind. The compulsion to run over to him and run her fingers through the wavy hair of his was awful powerful. She was sure she was smiling at him now, because a large grin had spread across his face.
That was the sign he'd needed from her. He didn't know the first thing about acting appropriately around humans, but then again for some reason he hadn't cared much in this instant. He'd completely brushed off Castor who been griping in his ear the entire time he had his attention, quite obviously, fixated on the little human who had been boldly playing eye games with him back and forth. He was a bit impressed actually, most human women were in some way or another intimated by him, then again he usually wasn't shooting them playful grins the entire time either. He knew the jist of what Castor was griping about though, something along the lines of rules and being exposed. Ezra had never really been a rules guy though, why start now. The human girl had grabbed his attention in a way he was fully unsure of, in all his years, he was unsure of such a pull to be near someone could exist and in this force.
Most of the time his kind did pair up and wander off into eternity together, he had just never met anyone that he wanted to do that with though. His life had revolved around feeding, feeding everywhere and on anyone. Castor was usually one of the only beings he had any constant contact with in his life, he was like the annoying eldest sibling who thought they had the right to tell you what to do just because they slightly older. Well, Castor and Driselda at least, that was mostly because she somehow always managed to pop up where ever he was, she somehow always seemed to be on the same continent as him.
"Don't do it Ezra!" Castor had spoke in the language of their people, that was only done when things were serious. It mattered not to Ezra, Castor wouldn't make any moves with this many humans present. He probably couldn't stop himself now even if he wanted to.
"Good game Violet, didn't know ya had it in you! So listen, how about you and I go somewhere a little more private so we can talk?" His hand was on her face now lightly running his finger along her jawline, trying out his most handsome smile on her. His other hand on the small of her back holding her in place. She was certain Macy was staring daggers at her now.
Before she had a chance to answer, she saw the movement off to her side and before she saw him she felt his presence beside her. She must have been drunk, feeling his presence? Really? Definitely the alcohol.
Ezra stood beside her, his face still cocked in a half smile that sent butterflies soaring through her stomach, hitting her like a punch to the gut. Her smile met his stepping away from Brandon who was way too close to begin with, and moving closer to the stranger. Brandon merely stared at the guy who suddenly pulled his conquest, literally from his grasp, without saying a word. "Can I help you?" Brandon made his presence known stepping between the two who seemed to have fallen into a trance with one another. They're glances stuck on each other, unwavering. "Want to step outside for some fresh air?" The stranger spoke to her and her heart leapt at his voice. "Yea, sure." She moved to stand beside him, Brandon being a thing of the past until he spoke again, reminding her of his forgotten existence.
Ezra was the one to break the kiss. All the passion in the world couldn't distract him from the fury of Castor he felt radiating off of him on the other side of the wall behind them. Castor was shouting at him in his head. He knew this was no the way of things and Castor would make usre he didn't forget himself. They were well fed for the night, they had sucked years off of many humans lives tonight before Violet had even made an appearance. There was no reason to stay, except the human in his arms. The human in his arms. The significance of that thought and his actions hit him fully now. To dabble with a human for any other reason than to feed was dangerous. He knew it was dangerous, but yet she felt so right in his arms. She felt right in a way that Driselda never could or did. Driselda was cold and hard in his arms, where as this human he'd only just met was

It didn't take long for Violet to feel that lightness, the carelessness that was brought on by alcohol, the warm feeling that started in the pit of your stomach and radiated throughout your body when the liquor hit your core. After all a weight had just been lifted off her shoulders for the next couple of months and was guaranteed to return later in the year so why not let loose while she could. To say that school was stressful may have been an exaggerated understatement. She supposed it was because she knew these next couple of years were the years that would decide the rest of her life and any descisions made at this time were basically life descisions. Maybe it was the weight of the rest of her life that seemed to drop on her shoulders the day she started college. She decided to quickly down two drinks, a little liquid courage was exactly what she needed, tonight she would tell Brandon that she
