Gazing compassionately, Ember said softly, "Mom, I brought the children to see you."

Avery raised his head, saw his mommy's red eyes, and sensed her feelings. He felt a little sad too.

"Grandma, I'm Avery. I've come to see you. Grandma, you must get well soon."

Would Ember be happier if he chatted to his grandma more and encouraged her to smile?

Jamie stood next to him and called out in a quiet voice, "Grandma, I'm Jamie. Are you sleeping? Can you hear me telling you a story? I will tell you a story so that you won't feel lonely and bored on your bed."

Ember stood by the side, with a lump in her throat. She was touched as she saw the two children surrounding her mother.

How could she have given birth to such two little angels?

When they left the hospital, Ember explained the situation to the two.

"Jamie and Avery, Grandma's condition is a bit serious. I'm going to stay by Grandma's side for a period of time. Are you willing to stay and accompany her as well?"
