“Stay right here,” Marcus said firmly.

“But…”

He ignored Laura as he stepped out of the car, shutting it firmly. The wolf was still right there on the road. This had never really happened before. He wondered what it could want.

It cold quite possibly be a rogue or a part of the pack of wolves that had recently stepped into the community. Either way, he was going to make sure he found out the truth about it from him.

He walked carefully to the wolf, his eyes centered right on him, and less on his environment, hoping to make the wolf feel that there was no danger. Half way, he stopped.

“Hey, are you hurt? Is there anyway I could help you to…”

Out of nowhere, a group of wolves stepped out on the road, from the bushes. Out of impulse, Marcus stepped back slightly. He was quite stunned by the whole thing.
