Thank you for being patient. I rested and started writing again yesterday. I am grateful for the love and support I am getting from everyone reading, Commenting and voting for this book. Thank you so much.
Mason Luisa was a dedicated sigma. She drove with so much dedication that when I became sleepy; I dared not doze off because her eyes were on the road, and it would show weakness if I slept while I made her stay awake. "How often do you do this?" I asked her. "What, Alpha?" She asked, looking at me through the rearview mirror. "I mean, drive through the night," I said, and she smiled. "Sigmas do most of the transporting in the pack. They delegate all the transport work to wolves at our rank, and most of the transport is usually nighttime," She explained. I nodded. "What do you transport?" I asked. "Orders from you or Alpha Renfield, I suppose. Medications, Weapons, protective gears, prisoners, food and supplies," she explained, and I nodded. "So you drive a truck," I said, and she grinned. "Lorries most of the time," She said, and my eyes widened at her words. Luisa was a lot tougher than I expected. "I love your driving skills. You will be our driver henceforth," I said, an
Marcus I headed to the office, leaving Gwen and Mason in the bedroom. I suspected he would not sleepover at Gray pack, but I didn't tell Gwen because I wasn't sure. I also knew when he came in, in the night. I saw him enter and leave. The truth is, I wouldn't be alive if I wasn't vigilant. I went to the office and started the computer. I was eager to see what Tim had sent Mason. We needed to plan the operation swiftly. Hopefully, it would not be complicated because we were all tired. We wanted to spend time with our families and resume our lives. So much had happened, and our two years of peace seemed like a distant memory now, with all our wolves living underground. I hoped Delan and the others would succeed and claim Derin's territories. We did not want humans to have an opening. The computer finished booting, and I hooked up to the wireless network. Going through Mason's mails, I skipped the ones he had read and went for the new message. It had attachments. A video footage and d
Marcus It took a while before I could build up the courage to open the files. There were about eight Jpeg files altogether. They were snapshots of documents with formulas and plans. According to the documents, we were going to be recruited into the army to build up their military strength. My name and Mason's name were on one, and Gwen's name was on another. They were planning to grab her and run a series of tests. Looking at what was on the paper, Gwen wasn't going to survive it. They wanted all sorts of things from her, skin tissue, brain tissue, blood sample, liver sample, kidney sample, name it, and they were willing to take it while she was still alive. "With the remarkable regenerative ability these species have, it would be possible to collect all the samples needed from the subject without killing her." Some sick bastard scribbled it down on one of the documents. Did they know how painful it was? And Gwen's regenerative skills were close to that of a human right now. She wo
Gwen. I decided to check on Luisa as Marcus and Mason had requested. I was still unable to shake off the knowledge of the plans the humans had for us, especially me. I could not believe that they planned on taking bits and pieces of me. Larry was an evil bastard, and he needed to be stopped. I hoped my father and the other Alphas succeed in getting Derin. He had no excuse to sell out his kind the way he did. I marvelled at how quick he was to bring up ideas to help ruin our lives. We never did anything to this guy. He was just a greedy asshole that was also a hater. I hated him for the pain and suffering he helped the humans bring to our community. Children could no longer play in the open. Everyone was underground, including my children. I hoped this would pass like a bad dream, and we would look back and laugh because I became scared every passing minute. I hid it from my mates so they would not falter, but my heart was weary. These people had no morals, care, fears or values, which
Marcus As soon as Gwen left, Mason and I began to make some calls. We needed to be sure everything was in place. We had decided to grab Larry, nonetheless, and faced the consequences later. Regardless of the situation, we would just have to deal as they come. "How many wolves do you suppose are down there?" I asked Mason, referring to Larry's multiple underground labs. "Can't count because I am sure Derin gave a lot of wolves from his territory not to count the stolen wolves from the other four territories," Mason said, and I sighed. The guy was a traitor. Selling out his kind like that, and for what? I did not see Larry offering Derin what he didn't already have. He was an Alpha. He was rich and respected. What else would prompt the bastard to work against his kind? While I was thinking about it, a call came in from Delan. I answered immediately and put him on speaker so that Mason could hear him. "Marcus," Delan said, sounding happy on the phone. "Is Mason home yet?" He asked.
Mason Gwen finally came to the office, and Marcus and I were eager to find out what was going on. "What took you so long?" I asked and kissed her. She returned the kiss and touched my arm with her palms. Her scent filled my senses, and I pulled her to my body. "How did it go with the doctor?" Marcus asked her which was why I was asking in the first place, and she pulled away from me and smiled at him. "I will soon be heading back to the hospital for more tests," She said, and Marcus and I were about to protest when she raised a small bottle of capsules. "No cause for alarm, Isabelle just wants to run some tests to help with the medication she is developing," she said, grinning from ear to ear, but deep down I felt she was lying about something and Marcus must have felt it too because what he said following her statement proved it. "So you do not mind us coming with you to the hospital this evening?" He asked her, and she frowned at him. "I am not a baby, Marcus," she protested.
Mason. After we made all the calls and arrangements, I sat in the alpha's office and went through the advertisement again. I was angry at the private joke attached to it. Our wolves were living underground not because we wanted to deprive them of sunlight but protect them from war. A war the humans had brought upon us. As much as I was a peace-loving guy, I wondered how the humans would fare if we descended on them and they had to go underground to their bomb shelters? The joke would not be funny anymore, I suppose. "Marcus," I said to my best friend. He was looking at his computer. I knew he was planning something safe. Trust him to be meticulous about saving lives. "Yes," He said, looking up at me, and I sat up on the couch. The Alpha office was built for one Alpha, and Marcus was occupying the seat, leaving me to use the couch. We might have to add another desk to equalise. "I am really pissed off about that private joke," I confessed, "I say we fuck peace and rain down on them.
Marcus I could not believe how easy it was for them to get the bastard. Derin looked beaten and I had a smirk on my face. Deep down, I had hopes that our plans will work, and we will be alright. "Take him to a silver cell for now, while we prepare to question him," Delan said. This was his pack after all. It was okay for him to give the orders. "Daddy!" Gwen said and hugged her father. Delan hugged her, and kissed the top of her head. Words did not need to be spoken. He did this for her. Thanks to Derin, they had poisoned and almost ruined her life. It was a miracle that she was here with us. I went to shake him, and so did Mason. "Thank you, Alpha Mackenzie," I said, and he smiled at me. "It was fun," he said and looked at the other Alphas. The Alphas smiled back at him. "The bastard was drunk with his a bitch's mouth on his cock when we got him," Lucius said, sounding a bit disgusted. "He has no respect for women," Liam said, " I saw all the thrashing marks on her back. Th
