"What should we do?" I linked my men while the shrieks of the person grew more desperate. Weren't officers close by? Or did they all clear out? Mason and Marcus did not respond but kept their eyes glued on the direction the sound was coming from.

"Please don't eat me!" I heard a man's voice pleading, and then the wolves growled at him. There were easily three wolves there. My strong nose picked three distinct wolf scents.

"What should we do?" I Linked again, and they both looked at me.

"We can't help him, Gwen?" Marcus said, and I frowned.

"Marcus is right," Mason agreed, "It is either we go and help that guy, which would end up alerting the authorities of our presence in the woods and the fact that we were trying to cross into their territory illegally, will be bad for us.
