039 Family Comes First

I did not sleep most of the night, and when it was almost morning, I sat up in bed. Mason was the first to respond to my actions. He placed his hands on my shoulder and kissed his mark on my neck. It was calming but not enough to take away the pain and anger I felt.

"Gwen, please try and sleep." He pleaded with me, but I did not listen to him. How could I? I was still broken inside. This wasn't supposed to happen to us. We were meant to come here, spend time with our children and then investigate the rogues. Who would have guessed we would hear the gruesome attack in the woods. That attack had changed our plans. I did not have it in me to waste any more time. The earlier we solved the issue, the better it would be.

"We need to leave and go to a hotel before the children wake up," I said, and Marcus sat up.
