Mason had just started a war without knowing it, and I couldn't blame him. As we ran through the woods back to our territory, Gwen's pain increased. Something must be wrong. I watched Adrian push through the woods, and I followed behind. The humans had stopped chasing. Ingrid had come through for us. She had taken responsibility for our covert mission. I owed her one. If she hadn't said we entered the human territory with her knowledge, they would have been able to count it as an offence and use it against us. I hated Richards for his sneaky behaviour.
