"Yes!" Leah, my wolf answered with so much excitement.
I felt a mental connection to him instantly, my insides felt warm. A kind of comfort came over me just by seeing him. His face had a gentle, yet sharp edge to it. His eyes were deep brown, bringing to it a warmth that threatens to draw you in until you get lost in them. Dark, full eyebrows accentuated his face, lashes as long as that of a woman. His lips were full and dark pink in color. Unfamiliar sparks and an electric jolted me back to reality. My eyes widened as I saw that he was directly before me, and in fact, touched my head. The contact made me crave his touch more, the urge to lay in his thick arms for eternity, gripped me.
My palm got clammy at how intense his gaze was on me. He leaned closer, "Hey, beauty." His deep, masculine voice met my ear. It was smooth as though he had nurtured the voice to make anyone drool over it.
"Hi." I mumbled lowly. I could barely recognize my own voice as it came out.
"I'm Beta Garrett." He said, and my silly wolf stirred again at his name.
"Lupe…. I’m Lupe." I said, smiling uneasily. Suddenly conscious of what I wore or, if my smiling was awkward or, I wasn’t what he excepted because, I have heard of
"You're really beautiful. Can I touch you?" He asked, his deep brown orbs melted into my blue ones.
"Yes." I muttered.
He grabbed my hands in his left hand, the other one stroking my cheek. Sparks ignited everywhere he touched. More of a constant reminder of the bond between us. The contact was the closest thing I've gotten from a male since my father died.
"Lupe?" I snapped out of the reverie I was lost in with Garrett and looked back, attempting to take off my hand from Garrett but the growl that escaped his lips halted me.
It was my mother and Doctor Archer was beside her.
"Who is this?" A frown etched into her face as she looked at Garret in confusion before her eyes went down to our locked hands.
"Mom, meet my mate. He's Garret. Garrett, my mom." I answered excitedly.
A bright smile came up on her face, like she was anticipating the news. She looked even more happy than I do.
"You must be Beta Garrett, from Black Moon pack. I've waited so long for the day Lupe would meet her mate…. It fills my heart to see you both in love already." She exclaimed, smiling at him.
"Yes Ma'am. I arrived few minutes ago." He replied and mum clapped her hands in excitement. Her expression and actions mirrored that of an excited teenage girl whom her crush just complimented.
"I'll leave you two alone now. See you later, Garrett." She walked off with Doctor Archer who hadn't uttered a word since they reached, he only had a gentle smile on his face.
"How did she know I'm the Beta who was meant to come?" Garrett asked.
"She's Luna. She must have discussed it with the Alpha." I answered.
"That makes you the alpha's daughter then." He uttered excitedly.
"Yeah, somehow." I mumbled with a slight frown.
"Is there anywhere private we can go? People have been peeking from behind that big tree. I need a private spot with you." He said, gesturing towards the tree not too far from us and I nodded.
A place came to mind, I've never taken anyone there before, not even my best friend who knows everything about me. I only went there when needed to get away from everything and everyone.
"Of course. I know a place." I replied.
We walked towards the direction of the woods. His hand locked with mine in a firm grip. I led him to the concealed lake in the woods. Only few people know about the place since it's covered with leaves that are so close that you wouldn't make out anything behind them.
Gentle breeze blew, giving it an even more peaceful feel.
"Wow!" Garrett exclaimed, looking around the lake. His eyes wandered around until they came back on me.
Maybe him too was praying secretly to meet his mate.
"Beautiful, right?" I chuckled.
"Yes, you are. I've always wondered what my mate would look like. Pictured how she would talk too and her features were etched into my brain in illusion. I never knew the moon goddess had a better one for me. The one who surpasses my imagination in multiple folds. I've not known you for long but tell me why I'm helplessly in love with you, already?" He said in a so romantic tone.
Ohhhh… That was a good one.
I wanted to talk, but nothing reasonable came to my mind. I'm an ardent believer of love at first sight, especially with mates because of the tons of books I've read. I've only known him for minutes, yet my whole body jolts to life at a mere stare from him. His lips were the next thing I felt on mine.
