“What is happening?” Back in her room, Aravia was trying to reign her emotions in. She had heard the laughter of a gamma down the hall. The slamming of a door, and then moans and what was presumably a headboard banging against the wall.

She had assumed it to be the cocky Alpha’s son, Aidan. She knew it was unfair to presume such things without meeting him formally, but she also knew that wasn’t likely to happen anytime soon. So, she focused on her sightings and indirect encounters with him to base her opinion of his identity.

“Fuck. . .” She felt her heart quicken when she heard his cry. His voice was ripe with his pleasure. Something Aravia had never experienced herself or given to another person. It was starting to make her heat up again. Her body was burning once more, and the space between her legs began to hum and buzz with arousal. She started to pace to get rid of the feeling. Calm your breath. She repeated to herself over and over, but it did nothing to stop the erratic breathing or the burning that now clung to her skin and between her legs.

The slam of a door jolted her out of her thoughts, but not before long, she was back to thinking about- him? She cursed as she imagined his face, stoic and chiseled that morning. Her hand slid down the length of her stomach, she wanted to touch herself. She had denied it ever since she had found out about the pleasure it could bring. No. It’s wrong.

But she had to stop the heat. She had to stop the lust that was burning her up from the inside out.

Water. She thought, remembering the river. She dragged herself off of the bed in a panic. Her chest was heaving as she tugged open the heavy wooden door to her room. She almost ran headlong into a guard.

“Miss!”

“Bathroom!” It had been years since she had spoken to anyone but Silas. Now, she knew she needed to before she burst into flames from the heat.

The guard led her down the hallway toward the room where she had heard the moaning. She felt herself becoming dizzy with smells. She could smell sweat and sex, and her vision began to darken.

“ Down Here.” He motioned to the door across from the Alpha’s room. He began to walk toward it, but the apprentice shot around him and quickly opened the door, slamming it shut behind her.

No doubt he had thought she was crazy. Or at least had a case of very severe intestinal distress. Her vision darkened, and she could care less what anyone thought, because, for the moment- she could hear water running. She tossed herself toward the bathtub, bringing the curtain down around her in her rush.

It was hot. She screeched and reached for the faucet, turning it the complete opposite way.

“Water.” She sighed a long contented sigh. It was pure pleasure as the fire inside her cooled.

“What the-” A voice shouted. She looked up through her veil that clung to her face.

“Fuck.” She echoed the Alpha’s earlier word with panic.

Aidan had finally had enough of his thoughts. He rose from the bed wanting to wash them away. Not his bathroom though. It was too stuffy and his wolf nose could still smell the scent of the Gamma lingering. He made his way across the hall to the guest bathroom. The door was open, so he pushed his way in and stripped, turning on the shower as hot as it would go.

“Ah,” He sighed as the water made contact with his troubled skin. He closed his eyes and let the shower drown out his thoughts.

He was so far gone, that the sound of the door opening and then slamming seemed forever away to his senses. That is, until something slammed into his feet, almost knocking him over and breaking his neck. He steadied himself against the wall, rubbing water from his eyes and untangling the tattered curtain from his body. Cold water hit him instantly, and he looked down to see a soaked and crumpled purple mass once again at his feet.

“Water.” The word was almost like an orgasmic moan. The voice was that of a female, and he knew it belonged to the huddled mass of the apprentice.

“What the-” He started, but he was cut off by the slow turn of the veiled head in his direction.

“Fuck.” He heard the words from beneath the veil. And then the apprentice was scrambling. Aravia slipped over the side of the bathtub, slamming her shoulder into the hard stone floor. Her breath was ragged once more, and she could feel the young Alpha coming behind her.

“Wait.” His voice was booming, but she fought the urge to cower, stood, and headed for the door. Her feet slipped as the water dripping from her made puddles on the floor. She had just opened the door when she felt it slam furiously closed behind her.

“Miss!” The guard outside was knocking vehemently.

“It’s alright.” She heard the Alpha’s voice in her ear. “I’m going to have to teach this peeping Mage a lesson.

“But Alpha-”

“Go!” His rage was evident in his voice, and she could feel it coming off of him in waves of energy.
