NOAH'S POV

I stood frozen in place, watching as Professor Rex pulled the new lecturer away.

His hand gripped her wrist firmly but not forcefully, leading her through the hallway with a sense of purpose.

There was something off about the way he held her—possessive, yet distant.

And then I remembered.

Before he took her away, he had said something. A word so faint I almost missed it.

"Mate."

My brows furrowed.

Mate?

Were they former classmates? Old acquaintances?

Something about the word didn’t sit right, but I shook it off. It wasn’t my business.

At least, it shouldn’t be.

So why couldn’t I stop thinking about the way he held her?

Like she belonged to him.

The thought left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I exhaled sharply, shaking off the ridiculous feeling creeping up my spine. This wasn’t jealousy. It wasn’t.

It was just… curiosity.

Yeah, that’s it.

Pushing the thought aside, I made my way back to my friends.

Penny was already waiting, her arms folded, a teasing smirk plastered across he

NOAH’S POVI gently locked the door behind me and stepped inside, careful not to make a sound. The living room was dark, which meant Gavin was already asleep. That was weird, but also a good thing. At least I wouldn’t have to explain anything.Just as I was about to sneak past, the lights suddenly flickered on.I froze.Standing by the dining table, arms crossed and eyes narrowed, was Lucas. And right next to him, munching on a bag of crunchy chips, was Gavin."And where the hell are you coming from, Noah Leister?" Lucas’s cold voice rang through the room.Crap.Anytime he called me by my full name, I knew I was screwed. My brain scrambled for a way out.I plastered on my best innocent smile. "Big brother!" I squealed, launching myself at him.He instinctively caught me, his arms steady even as I clung to him like a koala."I missed you so much," I pouted, batting my lashes cutely.Lucas’s lips twitched, but he didn’t fall for it. ARES’ POVI was sitting in my office, lost in thought, when someone walked in. Lifting my gaze, I saw Birdy."Someone finally decided to pay me a visit," I said, leaning back in my chair with a smirk."Is it true?" she asked, skipping the pleasantries altogether.I raised an eyebrow. "Is what true?" I played dumb, though I already knew what she was talking about. She rolled her eyes. "That you found your mate."I exhaled through my nose, tilting my head slightly. "How did you find out?""News spreads like wildfire among wolves," she answered smugly, folding her arms.I gave a slight nod. "It’s true."Birdy’s face immediately lit up. Her eyes gleamed with excitement as she leaned forward, nearly bouncing on her feet."Really? That was quick! You know, when they said the Moon Goddess finally gave you a mate, I didn’t believe it at first. But now, this is amazing!" she gushed.I shook my head, amused. "You still haven’t changed, Birdy."Her smile dropped into a scowl. "I’ve told you to s

NOAH'S POVThe moment my eyes met Professor Rex’s in the crowd, he winked at me.I grinned, unable to help myself, before turning away and stepping off the court. The game was over anyway, thanks to that weird, out-of-nowhere incident. As soon as I exited, Penny and Nathan rushed toward me, their faces painted with worry."Oh my God, Noah! Are you okay?" Penny practically shrieked. "That ball was coming at you so fast! I thought you were going to get hit!"Nathan frowned, arms crossed. "That was definitely intentional. I swear those guys threw it on purpose.""I'm fine, guys," I reassured them with a small chuckle. "Seriously, you worry too much."Penny huffed. "Of course we worry! You could have been hit! Do you know how much your pretty face is worth to me?"I rolled my eyes. "Let’s just go."As we walked down the hallway, still chatting about the bizarre moment on the court, we turned a corner and bam, nearly collided with two figures.Professor Rex.And the new lecturer, Elsa. The

This was… odd.Yesterday, after using my time-freeze ability during the game, I had been completely drained. That power always came with a price—crippling weakness, exhaustion that left me barely able to move. The last time I used it, I couldn’t even leave my suite in the castle for three days. It was the reason I rarely used it. As an Alpha, showing that kind of vulnerability was a disaster. But now? I felt fine. No, not just fine, better than fine. What the hell happened?I tried to piece things together, but my memory was hazy. I remembered being weak, barely able to stand. But how had I even gotten home? I didn’t remember mind-linking Jason or any of my men. Was it Birdy? No, it couldn’t be. She didn’t even know where I stayed when I was in the city.A faint scent lingered in the room, something familiar yet strangely unrecogni

ARES’ POVThe moment Birdy and Jason locked me in, I knew there was no getting out of this without giving them exactly what they wanted, or at least making them think I had.My body was still thrumming with frustration. Not from Elsa, not even from my traitorous wolf who seemed too eager, but from the deep-rooted uneasiness I’d been battling since I first found my mate.I exhaled sharply, pushing the thought away.I needed to clear my head.Without sparing Elsa another glance, I strode to the bathroom, stripping off my shirt as I went. The cool marble tiles barely registered beneath my feet as I twisted the shower knob, letting the scalding water cascade over me.Bracing my hands against the wall, I let my head dip under the stream, willing the heat to melt away the unrest inside me. My muscles were tight, my mind restless. What the hell is wrong with me?I hadn’t touched a woman since I learned about my mate. Not because of morals—I was no saint. But something about the bond made it

NOAH'S POVI walked through the bustling campus, the crisp morning air doing little to clear my drowsy mind. It was still early, and I hadn’t fully woken up yet. Beside me, Penny practically bounced on her feet, her eyes twinkling with barely contained excitement."You’re way too happy for a Monday morning," I muttered, stifling a yawn.Nathan, who walked lazily on my other side, snorted. "That’s because she had a very eventful weekend," he said, rolling his eyes.Penny giggled, tucking a strand of honey-blonde hair behind her ear. "You're just jealous, Nathan."Nathan groaned. "I’m jealous of my peaceful, sex-free weekend? Hard pass."I raised a brow, intrigued. "Okay, spill. Why are you glowing like you won the lottery?"Penny dramatically clutched her chest. "Because I did win the lottery—the orgasm lottery!" She let out a dreamy sigh. "Spent the entire weekend with my fiancé, and we had lots of crazy sex, let’s just say… multiple pent-up orgasms were finally set free."I nearly ch

ARES’ POVThe moment the students left, I took a deep breath and stepped closer to the girl’s lifeless body. The stench of blood was thick in the air, the metallic scent filling my lungs. Her body was mangled beyond recognition, deep claw marks tearing through her flesh. The sight alone made my wolf, Rex, restless."This wasn't a rogue," Rex growled in my head. "This was something else."I was about to examine the wounds more closely when a voice—his voice—interrupted my thoughts."An investigation will be carried out, right?"I turned around sharply, surprised to see Noah still standing there. His stormy gray eyes were locked onto mine, unreadable yet filled with curiosity . I arched a brow, silently questioning why he hadn't left with the others."There will be an investigation, right?" he repeated, completely ignoring the unspoken warning in my gaze.I exhaled slowly. "An investigation won’t be necessary. It was probably a bear or some other wild animal," I said, though deep down,

Me?”“Yeah, you.” Penny pointed at me. “We know you’re hiding something from us, but we’re not going to push until you’re ready to tell us.”I blinked, staring at them before quickly tur

The document I had glimpsed wasn’t just some research paper, it was the investigation. And professor Rex had made progress."It seems you've made progress with the investigation," I murmured, my fingers ghosting over the pages.Scattered across the desk were notes, maps, and timestamps, every single detail meticulously recorded. Red circles marked specific locations, but one in particular was heavily underlined. He had found a lead.Behind me, I heard him sigh. When I turned, I caught him running a hand through his dark brown hair, the tension in his shoulders easing ever so slightly."Yes. I finally have a lead," he admitted, his deep voice calmer than before. There was relief there, like a weight had been lifted off his chest. "I plan to check it out tonight."I blinked. Tonight?Something in my chest tightened at the thought of him going alone to haunt those beast."Then I’m coming with

Not anywhere I recognized. My heart picked up speed as I slowly sat up, scanning the dimly lit room.My stomach twisted as flashes of last night returned. The growl. The footprints. Then the beast. My breath hitched. I had seen it. Its massive form, those glowing, hungry eyes, like it wanted to devour me. Scents I had long since grown accustomed to.I stepped inside, my boots clicking against the tiled floor, and the moment my presence registered, everyone in the lab halted their work and bowed in respect. As they should. These fools owe their existence to me.My gaze swept across the lab, rows of containment chambers filled with restrained test subjects. Some twitched violently, their bodies still adjusting to the transformation, while others lay unnaturally still.I turned to the head scientist, my voice cold and demanding. “How are the experiments progressing?
