NOAH'S POV

The moment my eyes met Professor Rex’s in the crowd, he winked at me.

I grinned, unable to help myself, before turning away and stepping off the court. The game was over anyway, thanks to that weird, out-of-nowhere incident.

As soon as I exited, Penny and Nathan rushed toward me, their faces painted with worry.

"Oh my God, Noah! Are you okay?" Penny practically shrieked. "That ball was coming at you so fast! I thought you were going to get hit!"

Nathan frowned, arms crossed. "That was definitely intentional. I swear those guys threw it on purpose."

"I'm fine, guys," I reassured them with a small chuckle. "Seriously, you worry too much."

Penny huffed. "Of course we worry! You could have been hit! Do you know how much your pretty face is worth to me?"

I rolled my eyes. "Let’s just go."

As we walked down the hallway, still chatting about the bizarre moment on the court, we turned a corner and bam, nearly collided with two figures.

Professor Rex.

ARES’ POV A strange, buzzing energy coursed through my body, making me feel more alert than I had in a long time. I sat up, running a hand through my hair. This was… odd. Yesterday, after using my time-freeze ability during the game, I had been completely drained. That power always came with a price—crippling weakness, exhaustion that left me barely able to move. The last time I used it, I couldn’t even leave my suite in the castle for three days. It was the reason I rarely used it. As an Alpha, showing that kind of vulnerability was a disaster. But now? I felt fine. No, not just fine, better than fine. What the hell happened? I tried to piece things together, but my memory was hazy. I remembered being weak, barely able to stand. But how had I even gotten home? I didn’t remember mind-linking Jason or any of my men. Was it Birdy? No, it couldn’t be. She didn’t even know where I stayed when I was in the city. A faint scent lingered in the room, something familiar yet strangely unre

ARES’ POV The moment Birdy and Jason locked me in, I knew there was no getting out of this without giving them exactly what they wanted, or at least making them think I had. My body was still thrumming with frustration. Not from Elsa, not even from my traitorous wolf who seemed too eager, but from the deep-rooted uneasiness I’d been battling since I first found my mate. I exhaled sharply, pushing the thought away. I needed to clear my head. Without sparing Elsa another glance, I strode to the bathroom, stripping off my shirt as I went. The cool marble tiles barely registered beneath my feet as I twisted the shower knob, letting the scalding water cascade over me. Bracing my hands against the wall, I let my head dip under the stream, willing the heat to melt away the unrest inside me. My muscles were tight, my mind restless. What the hell is wrong with me? I hadn’t touched a woman since I learned about my mate. Not because of morals—I was no saint. But something about the bond m

NOAH'S POV I walked through the bustling campus, the crisp morning air doing little to clear my drowsy mind. It was still early, and I hadn’t fully woken up yet. Beside me, Penny practically bounced on her feet, her eyes twinkling with barely contained excitement. "You’re way too happy for a Monday morning," I muttered, stifling a yawn. Nathan, who walked lazily on my other side, snorted. "That’s because she had a very eventful weekend," he said, rolling his eyes. Penny giggled, tucking a strand of honey-blonde hair behind her ear. "You're just jealous, Nathan." Nathan groaned. "I’m jealous of my peaceful, sex-free weekend? Hard pass." I raised a brow, intrigued. "Okay, spill. Why are you glowing like you won the lottery?" Penny dramatically clutched her chest. "Because I did win the lottery—the orgasm lottery!" She let out a dreamy sigh. "Spent the entire weekend with my fiancé, and we had lots of crazy sex, let’s just say… multiple pent-up orgasms were finally set free." I ne

ARES’ POV The moment the students left, I took a deep breath and stepped closer to the girl’s lifeless body. The stench of blood was thick in the air, the metallic scent filling my lungs. Her body was mangled beyond recognition, deep claw marks tearing through her flesh. The sight alone made my wolf, Rex, restless. "This wasn't a rogue," Rex growled in my head. "This was something else." I was about to examine the wounds more closely when a voice—his voice—interrupted my thoughts. "An investigation will be carried out, right?" I turned around sharply, surprised to see Noah still standing there. His stormy gray eyes were locked onto mine, unreadable yet filled with curiosity . I arched a brow, silently questioning why he hadn't left with the others. "There will be an investigation, right?" he repeated, completely ignoring the unspoken warning in my gaze. I exhaled slowly. "An investigation won’t be necessary. It was probably a bear or some other wild animal," I said, though deep

NOAH'S POV I stuffed my hands into my pockets as we strolled across the campus grounds, Penny still ranting about how hot Professor Rex was. “I mean, did you see the way his shirt hugged his arms when he rushed in? That man was made for sin,” she gushed, practically bouncing with excitement. Nathan rolled his eyes. “You need help.” Penny scoffed. “Coming from someone who once confessed to his lecturer on her last day here.” “That was a long time ago!” Nathan hissed, his ears turning red. “And I was drunk.” “Your first semester, actually,” Penny teased. Nathan groaned. “I thought that was supposed to be a secret.” “Yeah, which is why I didn’t post the video on the school blog.” Penny grinned mischievously. “Besides, there are no secrets in our little circle, except for Noah.” My head snapped up. “What? Me?” “Yeah, you.” Penny pointed at me. “We know you’re hiding something from us, but we’re not going to push until you’re ready to tell us.” I blinked, staring at them before q

NOAH'S POV I rushed through the hallways, dodging students as I made my way toward Professor Rex’s office. My heart pounded, but not from exhaustion—excitement fueled my every step. Just as I reached the corridor leading to his office, I spotted him ahead, walking with that same composed, intimidating aura, with students drooling from afar, since they're too scared to get close. "Professor Rex!" I called out. He paused but didn’t turn immediately. When he finally did, his golden-amber eyes locked onto mine with mild curiosity and something else. "You love chasing after me, don’t you?" he mused, his lips curling slightly. I barely stopped myself from running into him, catching my breath. "There’s going to be an investigation," I blurted out. "I found evidence!" I expected his face to light up with interest. Instead, he simply shrugged. "Okay." Okay? That’s it? "That’s all you have to say?" I questioned, stepping in front of him to block his way. He raised a brow. "Was I supp

NOAH’S POV The library smelled like old parchment and freshly brewed coffee from the student café just outside. Tall bookshelves stretched toward the ceiling, casting long shadows across the quiet space. The dim glow of antique-style lamps made it feel cozier than eerie. Nathan sat across from me, flipping through a book, though his eyes weren’t focused on the words. I noticed it immediately. He was staring. I frowned, shifting in my seat. "What?" Nathan blinked, as if I had caught him off guard. "Huh?" "You’re staring," I pointed out, tilting my head. "Is there something on my face?" His lips twitched into a smirk, and he reached forward, pretending to pluck something from my hair. "Yeah. There was… uh… something there. Got it." I narrowed my eyes. "You’re such a bad liar." He shrugged, still smirking, before glancing back at his book. I could feel his eyes flicker toward me again, though. Before I could tease him about it, Penny burst into the library, practically bouncing

NOAH'S POV Nathan and I walked side by side through the bustling hallway, our steps in sync as we approached our lockers. The usual hum of students filled the air—laughter, hurried conversations, the occasional locker slamming shut. But my mind was elsewhere. I was still mentally replaying last night’s disaster. Cooking had seemed like a solid plan at the time. But standing in a kitchen filled with smoke, Lucas screaming my name like I had personally betrayed him, and Gavin laughing so hard he nearly choked? Yeah. Not my finest moment. And worst of all, I didn't even got what I wanted. I sighed. “You know, in theory, cooking is just mixing ingredients and heating them up. Why is it so hard like rocket science?” Nathan chuckled beside me. “Because if you don’t know what you’re doing. You shouldn't have gone into that kitchen in the first place ” Before I could respond, a student rushed past, shoulder-bumping me hard enough to throw me off balance. I barely had time to register the

NOAH’S POVThe moment we stepped into the gymnastics room, the scent of sweat and rubber mats greeted us. Today’s activity was all about letting off steam, yoga, boxing, cardio, lifting weights. You name it. But apparently, Penny wasn’t a fan.“Oh, hell no,” she groaned dramatically, fanning the air with her hand. “I hate the gym. The awful smell of sweat irks me. All this weight lifting and gross stretching. I already have a slender figure, Nathan’s body is literally carved by angels, and you, Noah...” she narrowed her eyes at me and poked my side, “...you’re too tiny for all this. I can’t let you break your bones trying to lift some dumbbell.”I shot her a playful glare, but I could barely keep a straight face when Nathan bit back a laugh, clearly trying not to choke.“Let’s just ditch this place and go eat,” Penny added with an exaggerated sigh. “We should focus on making Noah bigger. He’s basically snack-sized.”Nathan finally let out his laughter, patting me on the head like I wa

My genius."They’re calm today," I noted as he approached, his white coat stained with blotches of dried fluids. He, too, wore a look of pride—like a man who believed he had created perfection. He wasn’t entirely wrong. But he wasn’t the mind behind it all. That was me."That’s because of the new serum I developed," He said coolly, motioning toward the cages. "Watch this."He turned toward the beasts, eyes flickering with excitement. Then he issued a single command through the mind-link: “Growl.”The result was instantaneous. All seven beasts erupted

NOAH’S POVThe sun was slowly beginning to sink beneath the horizon, casting a golden glow over the beach and painting the ocean in shades of orange and pink. Laughter echoed through the salty air, mixing with the crashing of waves. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, and for once, I allowed myself to relax—just a little.Nathan was out in the water, surfing like he was born to ride the waves. His moves were clean and confident, earning cheers from the crowd each time he caught a good one. He looked carefree… in his element.Penny, on the other hand, was doing what she did best, flirting. She stood near the bonfire, tossing her wavy hair over her shoulder, her voice sweet as honey while she talked to two ridiculously good-looking guys from another department. The poor guys were clearly enchanted, their grins growing wider with every flutter of her lashes.I chuckled under my breath. If only they knew...Penny was deeply in love with her fiancé, to the point of writing sappy poe

I let Penny take the lead with ordering, since she practically memorized the entire menu within two minutes. As we waited, the din of the restaurant filled the air, cheerful and loud, students buzzing with excitement from the trip.“I swear,” Penny grumbled, pulling her ponytail tighter. “I’m going to punch your handsome roommate. Sebastian is driving me nuts.”I chuckled softly, “He’s not that bad, Penny. You literally said that he was nice.”“Yeah, like a psycho on a dating app,” she retorted.Nathan glanced between us. “You seem to

The marble floor was cold under my feet, but the chill that prickled down my spine wasn’t from the temperature.I wasn’t alone.Noah was already gone. I heard his quiet footsteps tiptoeing out earlier, probably thinking I wouldn’t notice. But someone else was here. The scent hit me a second later...sweet, vanilla faintly spiced. Familiar. Unwelcome.Elsa.My jaw tightened. What the hell was she doing here? Before I could call out, she stepped into the bedroom like she owned it, that signature smile plastered on her lips, overconfident, too perfect. Her long white-blonde hair cascaded down her back, bouncing slightly with every step. NOAH'S POVMy head felt like a marching band was stomping through it. I groaned, pressing my palm to my forehead as I blinked against the sunlight pouring through the large glass doors. Okay, it's official—alcohol is not for me. Ever again. Just two damn glasses and it feels like my brain's been spun in a blender.Bits and pieces of the night flashed behind my eyelids. Playing that stupid truth-or-dare game, laughing way too hard with Penny and Nathan... then feeling overwhelmed and going out for air. Then I saw...professor Rex?My eyes widened slightly. Yeah, I remember seeing him standing by the sea, just brooding and godlike like always… but after that? Nothing. Just blank. A total wipeout. It felt weirdly familiar. History repeating itself. Except this time, I didn’t even know whose room I woke up in. My arms stretched across silk sheets that didn’t feel like mine. My room had soft cotton, and an average size bed. I sat up slowly, and the headache groaned along with me.The inter

ARES’ POVI still couldn’t shake off the image burned into my head from this morning. That damn hug.I’d tried everything to distract myself—sparring with Birdy, drowning in paperwork, even meditating, for goddess’ sake. Nothing worked. Rex, my wolf, was brooding in the corner of my mind like a child denied candy. The pull I felt toward Little Leister was suffocating, and seeing another man's arms around him had sparked something feral in me.So, like a lost idiot, I wandered toward the sea, hoping the salty breeze would numb my raging thoughts.Humans said the ocean calmed the soul. Maybe it did, for them. But I wasn’t human. I was a werewolf Alpha. Powerful, lonely—and right now, pissed beyond belief.I stood at the edge of the shoreline, eyes locked on the restless waves crashing beneath the moonlight. My thoughts were loud. Too loud. For a second, I didn’t even know where I was. Then two sharp green eyes stared down at me.I jolted upright. “Penny!”My voice cracked, and I nearly headbutted her in my haste. Without thinking, I lunged forward and wrapped my arms around her, burying my face in her shoulder.God, I missed her.Not even a full day had passed, but the silence she left behind had pressed on my chest like a weight. It was too still, too empty. As though something essential had been scooped out of me.She didn’t hesitate—just hugged me back, warm and tight, like she always did. Penny never cared about the rules. Never made things complicated. The air in the car was thick, suffocating almost, as I replayed the scene from earlier—over and over again. That damned image. Sebastian’s arm wrapped around Noah. Little Leister The protective, almost possessive way Sebastian held him. My jaw clenched. He had no right. No one did. How dare he let someone touch him like that? A low growl vibrated in my throat as I leaned back against the leather seat. The engine purred softly, and yet, the rage burning within me roared like a wildfire. I was this close to snapping earlier—if Sebastian had said one more word, if he had looked at me with that smug glint in his eyes—I might have ripped him in half. "Noah doesn't know who Sebastian is" Rex tried to reason But the rational voice in my head was quickly drowned out by the fury. I didn’t care. The passenger door opened abruptly, and Penny slid in, dressed in a chic white
