“Oh my goodness! Are you alright?” Evelyn gasped as she entered the kitchen and noticed Lisa's injured hand.
“Oh, this? I accidentally cut myself,” Lisa explained, taken aback by Evelyn's sudden appearance in the kitchen.
“Aw, poor you! You should be more careful,” Evelyn said sympathetically as she moved closer to Lisa to examine the wound.
Lisa recoiled slightly, not wanting Evelyn to catch sight of the wound since it wasn't caused by a knife.
"No need to worry, I'm a wolf. It'll heal in no time," Lisa reassured.
“Okay…” Evelyn responded, surprised by Lisa's sudden behavior.
“What can I help you with?” Evelyn asked, offering to assist Lisa.
“Do not bother yourself, please. Just relax, I'll take care of everything here,” Lisa responded warmly.
“I hope you are not thinking I don't know how to cook because I used to be an Alpha's daughter,” Evelyn said jokingly.
"Oh no, not at all. You're my guest, so it's my pleasure to cook for you," Lisa replied graciously.
“Alright, if you insist,” Evelyn agreed.
“Lisa finished preparing dinner, and they both enjoyed the meal while gossiping late into the night, sharing stories about their packs until they finally retired to bed.”
The following morning, Lisa woke Evelyn as early as 6:00 am. so she could leave Silvermoon Pack.
“It's probably best to set out now before the sun gets too strong. I can show you the way to the main road where you can easily catch a cab to wherever you need to go,” Lisa suggested.
"It's morning already," Evelyn mumbled, rubbing her sleepy eyes.
“Yes, it is. I've prepared some light snacks for you to take with you on your journey, so you'll have something to munch on when you get hungry later,” Lisa offered.
“Thank you so much, Lisa. How can I ever repay you for your kindness?” Evelyn replied gratefully.
Evelyn made her way to the bathroom. She brushed her teeth with the extra toothbrush Lisa had given to her the night before and had a quick shower.
“Here, try this on,” Lisa said to Evelyn as she emerged from the bathroom, presenting her with a yellow flower-patterned blouse and blue leggings.
“Wow!” Evelyn exclaimed, admiring the blouse.
“It will make your journey comfortable,” Lisa added.
“I can't express my gratitude enough, Lisa. I am indebted to you,” Evelyn said, embracing Lisa and putting on the dress.
“You are welcome. Let's go. I will see you off,” Lisa said.
"Erm..." Evelyn hesitated for a moment, nervously biting her nails.
“What is wrong?” Lisa asked, noticing her reluctance.
“I don't think it is proper for me to just leave like this,” Evelyn expressed.
“What do you mean?” Lisa inquired.
“I think I should inform Alpha Grayson that I am leaving. I should at least thank him for letting me into the Pack and allowing me to be treated at the hospital,” Evelyn explained.
Lisa felt anger rise within her at Evelyn's request but she quickly put on a smile to conceal her true feelings and ensure Evelyn remained unaware of her anger.
“Do not grant her request,” Missy whispered to Lisa from within.
“Alpha Grayson usually has a busy early morning routine and doesn't like to be disturbed,” Lisa said.
“I just want to see him for a brief moment,” Evelyn pleaded with Lisa, holding her hand and imploring with her eyes. “Please, Lisa, help me. I just want to see him one last time before I leave,”
“Alright,” Lisa succumbed.
“What are you doing?” Missy cried out.
“Missy, she's setting herself up for more humiliation. I'm certain Grayson would expel her from the pack the moment he lays eyes on her," Lisa expressed to Missy in her mind as she flashed Evelyn a smile.
“Come on, let's go,” Lisa said, taking Evelyn by the hand and leading her towards Grayson's house.
When they got to Grayson's residence, the bodyguard at the gate allowed them to enter and pointed them towards the rear of the house where Grayson had set up a gym and was working out.
As they neared the gym, Evelyn caught sight of Grayson running on a treadmill behind the transparent glass, his shirtless, muscular chest visible.
Feeling her heart race, Evelyn was captivated by Grayson's appearance as they entered the gym. He looked incredibly handsome that morning and Evelyn wished she could have him all to herself.
“What brings you to my house?” Grayson asked coldly, maintaining his pace on the treadmill, as Evelyn and Lisa approached him.
“I…I….came to tell you I'm leaving, a…a.nnd,” Evelyn stuttered, unable to put her words together.
“Didn't your parents teach you manners where you came from?” Alpha Grayson lashed out.
“What?” Evelyn exclaimed, taken aback by Grayson's tone.
Grayson stopped the treadmill and turned towards Evelyn slowly. He had perceived her the moment she entered the house through the gate, making his body tense, a feeling he despised to his guts.
"Didn't your parents teach you it's rude to show up unannounced early in the morning at someone's house? Or is this how you show up uninvited in your Alpha’s house back at your pack?" Grayson sneered.
Evelyn was puzzled by Grayson's condescending tone and rudeness and decided she wasn't going to stand there and allow him to continue insulting her. She started to walk away but abruptly stopped, and turned back.
“I am an Alpha's daughter, with my father's demise, I would have become the Alpha of my pack if those bastards had not destroyed it. So, I fucking deserve some respect! It is not my fault that the Moon Goddess made us fated mates so that does not fucking give you the privilege to talk down on me. I understand that you have a chosen mate who is pregnant for you but you could have told me rather than taking your anger out on me,” Evelyn fired back at Grayson as Lisa opened her mouth wide in shock.
Grayson's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he tried to process Evelyn's words.
“What did you just say? Chosen mate who is pregnant for who?” Grayson asked.
“I came to tell you I am leaving and to thank you for your hospitality,” Evelyn said before turning to walk away with her heart broken by Grayson's attitude."Stop right there. What did you just say to me? Who did you say is pregnant with my child?" Alpha Grayson asked in bewilderment."Evelyn stopped and turned back to give Grayson a response, “Are you trying to act like you don't know? Your sister told me to leave because you have a chosen mate who is expecting your pup.”“Diana said that?” Grayson asked, puzzled by her sister's actions. She should have been the one convincing Evelyn to stay, not telling her to leave.Evelyn shook her head, puzzled by Grayson's apparent ignorance of the situation. She couldn't shake off the feeling that this was another attempt to humiliate her, so she made up her mind to leave.“Lisa, please show me to the main road. I am ready to leave now. I wished I had listened to you,” Evelyn said.“Alright,” Lisa, taken aback by Evelyn's abrupt outburst, resp
“He's too full of himself,” Evelyn remarked as she walked towards the border with Lisa."I did try to give you a heads-up," Lisa replied, a smug smile playing on her lips as she felt satisfied with Grayson's actions towards Evelyn.“No one has ever spoken to me like that," Evelyn confessed, her feelings hurt by the way Grayson had addressed her.“Sorry about that, it's not Grayson's fault. It is because of what he had been through,” Lisa pointed out.“What has he been through? What is going on with him? Did someone break his heart?” Evelyn asked, her curiosity piqued.“Well, something like that,” Lisa said and went further to explain what had happened to Grayson's father."Oh goodness! That's just awful," Evelyn exclaimed, an expression of shock on her face.“Yeah, Grayson has been treating ladies like trash since then,” Lisa continued, providing more insight.“How is his chosen mate handling the situation?” Evelyn inquired.Lisa let out a subtle breath, "Well…” But before she could c
“I am not lying, please believe me, Diaba, please,” Lisa pleaded desperately, her voice filled with anguish.“I believe you, Lisa. It is okay, stop crying. It is not good for the baby please,” Diana reassured.“I don't want anything from Grayson, I just want him to take responsibility for this child. I don't want to become a laughing stock in the pack for giving birth to a pup who has no father,” Lisa lamented.“That is never going to happen, Lisa, not on my watch,” Diana said.“He doesn't want the child, Diana, he doesn't,” Lisa continued crying, refusing to be consoled.“Lisa, please, stop crying. I already told you if he denies the pregnancy, I will report him to the council of elders,” Diana urged.“Council of elders!!” Beta Luke exclaimed and continued, “I will advise you not to do that, it will further escalate Grayson's anger. You know he hates the council of elders,” “If he continues to deny Lisa's child, I'm afraid I have no choice but to report him,” Diana stated firmly.“G
Grayson was walking through the woods, trying to unwind when he heard a faint cry. He decided to ignore it as he didn't expect anyone would be in the woods.Due to the presence of dangerous creatures in the woods, the pack members rarely ventured in alone. This was why Grayson loved coming into the woods. He found solace in the peace and quietness it offers. He heard the cry the second time, this time it was a little bit louder than the first one and the voice sounded familiar."Who could be out here in the woods at this time of the day?" Grayson said to himself as he made his way toward the direction from which the cry had originated. As he approached the direction in which the sound had come from, he caught sight of a familiar figure with brown hair“Evelyn?” Grayson muttered."Why is she in the woods?" Kyle said, feeling agitated at the sight of Evelyn.Grayson noticed Evelyn grappling to free herself from something, but he couldn't discern what it was from the considerable distanc
Evelyn tried to explain what had happened in the woods to Diana, Lisa, and Beta Luke but they found it hard to believe the story, especially since Evelyn's heel, where the snake had bitten her, was now completely healed."I believe you, Evelyn. Thank goodness Grayson arrived in time to help," Lisa said, gently grasping Evelyn's hand.Diana gave Evelyn a sharp look before walking away from them.“What did he say about you not leaving the pack?” Lisa asked."I didn't even get the chance to ask him about that. I blacked out in the woods after the snake bite," Evelyn explained."Let me ask him," Beta Luke said, staring at Evelyn. He had observed the longing in Grayson's eyes while he was holding Evelyn earlier. He suspected Grayson might be interested in sleeping with Evelyn, which was likely why he was asking her to stay back.“Alpha Grayson,” Beta Luke said as he linked him.“What?” Grayson responded sharply.“Evelyn wants to know why you are stopping her from leaving the pack,” Beta Lu
“Huh, Grayson is a guy! Of course, he did it for the pleasure of it,” Lisa revealed.“Oh my goodness, you must have been so hurt,” Evelyn asked.“Not really. I was not as hurt as when my mate rejected me,” Lisa explained.“But there must have been some feelings you had for Grayson, to have agreed to something like this,” Evelyn remarked.“Not really, I did it for Diana. I owe her a lot. I owe the Woods family a lot. They took me in when I lost my parents,” Lisa said.“You grew up with Grayson and Diana?” Evelyn asked.“Yes,” Lisa responded.“But that doesn't mean you should sacrifice your happiness for them. Grayson is such a jerk, how could he sleep with you when you are practically like his sister, and now he is denying your child” Evelyn protested.Lisa smiled, “Grayson is just acting tough on the outside, and trying to build a wall around his heart so he doesn't get hurt but deep down he is not a bad person. You will find out when you get to know him,” “Get to know him! That's ne
“The council of elders has requested to have a meeting with you,” Beta Luke informed Grayson as he strode into his office. Grayson looked up from the papers he was attending to, his expression tense as he met Beta Luke's gaze with a piercing look.“Council of elders?” Grayson repeated.“Yes,” Beta Luke affirmed.“What business do I have with those bunch of old fools,” Grayson snapped.“Your sister reported the situation with Lisa to them,” Beta Luke informed. Grayson's eyes blazed a fiery red, their intensity piercing through the room as his body shook with anger. His jaw clenched tightly, the muscles in his neck visibly tensed as he struggled to contain his emotions."Warn your wife to tread carefully, she is treading on thin ice with me and I will not spare her because she is my sister," Grayson growled, his voice low and filled with a warning tone.“I tried to warn her but she didn't listen to me,” Beta Luke said.“When is the meeting?” Grayson asked.“Later today,” Beta Luke sai
Grayson sneered while casting a sharp look at the elders.“I will do no such thing. The council does not make decisions for me. I am old enough to make my own decisions,” Grayson declared.Alpha Grayson, no one is calling you a child. However, as the Alpha of our pack, certain responsibilities are expected of you, including taking a Luna. A Luna plays a crucial role as the mother figure of the pack, and your refusal to marry is causing a void in those responsibilities. We cannot ignore this matter any longer due to your personal choices, Alpha," Gaius, another elder interjected.“You can get someone to fill that position, I do not care,” Grayson said."That is unacceptable! How can we do such a thing? That is against our tradition. The Luna's position is specifically designated for the Alpha's mate," James, an elder, asserted firmly.“Do not talk to me in that tone, I am still your Alpha,” Alpha Grayson yelled, his muscles quivering.“For now,” James responded.“Is that a threat?” Alp
Evelyn stretched her arms, feeling the familiar pull of freedom as she stood at the door to Grayson’s room. She turned to face him, his brow furrowed in disapproval.“You really think you’re ready?” Grayson asked in a low voice that showed concern.Evelyn smiled gently and replied, “I’ve been ready for days. You can’t keep me in your room forever.”“I’m not trying to keep you,” Grayson protested.“Yes, you are,” she cut in, laughing. “And it’s sweet, but I need some air and I also need to take a stroll. My feet feel numb,” Evelyn added.Grayson’s eyes softened, but he crossed his arms. “I don’t like this.” He said.“You don’t have to,” Evelyn replied. She leaned up, pecking his cheek. “I’ll be fine, Alpha,” Evelyn said and made her way out of the room.As she walked down the hall, she noticed the servants whispering. Their eyes flickered to her, then quickly away as she passed. Evelyn smiled as she passed them by. She knew exactly what they were gossiping about — Grayson.Evelyn d
Jerry’s black SUV arrived at the Shadow Pack and approached the gates. The guards stiffened as he stepped out, their eyes darting nervously. Without acknowledging them, Jerry walked straight towards the Alpha's house, his dark aura clearing a path ahead of him.In the main hall, Alpha Jaxon was holding court, his thin frame hunched over the table as he listened to his advisors. He was barely in his thirties, his youthful face marred by constant worry. The moment the doors swung open and Jerry entered, the air in the room thickened. Jaxon’s eyes widened, and he quickly stood, dismissing his advisors with a wave.“Leave us,” he ordered, his voice quivering. The advisors hesitated for a moment, casting wary glances at Jerry, before scurrying out of the room.Jerry’s eyes followed them until the door closed.“Busy day, Jaxon?” he drawled, his voice dripping with disdain.Jaxon forced a smile, the corners of his mouth twitching, “Routine pack matters, nothing important.”Jerry remained s
The whispers began the moment the warriors returned from Stone Moon Pack. What had started as hushed conversations among a few members soon spread like wildfire, fueled by the warriors who’d seen the way Grayson had treated Evelyn back on the battlefield. The talk about Grayson and Evelyn's relationship soon became the words on everyone's lips at the pack. Two ladies, Lucy and Sarah, on their way to the stream to get water were busy talking about what they heard.“You hear what they’re saying about Alpha Grayson and that strange girl?” Lucy said, lowering her voice as though the grasses might have ears.“Yeah, I heard. It’s hard not to. The whole pack’s talking about it.” Sarah replied.Lucy shot her a sidelong glance, clearly uncomfortable. “Do you think it’s true? That he’s been keeping her in his room? I thought that was just a rumor,” She asked.Sarah frowned, a deep furrow creasing her brow.“I don’t know, but Alpha Grayson has never done anything like this before. He’s always
Evelyn remained within the confines of Grayson's room till the next day. Her body was still weak from her injury and the poison, although she wanted to go back to her apartment but Grayson was adamant about her staying there, keeping her close.Grayson remained in the room with her, bringing her everything she needed, food, fresh water, and even clothes she could change into. He remained by her side all day, talking to her as if there was nothing more in the world he needed than her company.Evelyn, for the first time, allowed herself to be cared for without hesitation. She had always been independent, strong-willed, and stubborn, but Grayson’s constant attention made her feel something she couldn’t quite put into words. Something warm and tender.Evelyn was sitting up in bed, the next day, the afternoon sunlight filtering through the thick curtains. She watched as Grayson moved around the room, gathering papers on his desk and organizing them carefully.“You know,” she started,
Carter, the hunter who managed to escape, ran back to their camp, panting, his face streaked with sweat and dirt. The other hunters watched him warily, sensing the tension in the air. Frank, the second-in-command, stood in the center, arms crossed, his piercing eyes fixed on Carter.“Why have you come back alone? Where are the others?” Frank questioned, his voice low and dangerous. ““They... they’re dead. An Alpha from another pack came with his warriors and launched an attack on us, they ambushed us. We didn’t stand a chance,” Carter explained, swallowing hard his saliva as he wiped the sweat on his forehead.“You were twenty in number, armed with weapons. How did one Alpha and a few warriors take you down?”“They were different. They were stronger than any other werewolves we’ve faced. They had weapons too, even guns,” Carter answered, his voice wavering “Why didn’t you contact us? You could have called the camp for backup!” Frank said.“We tried to call for backup, but—”“But w
The journey back to the Silvermoon pack was a slow, measured march. The sun had barely begun to rise, casting soft golden rays through the dense canopy.Grayson walked beside the cart carrying Evelyn, his eyes scanning the forest with relentless focus. Every few miles, he signaled for the group to stop, allowing Evelyn time to rest.“Alpha, you know we’re making this trip twice as long,” Evelyn said, concerned about the warriors. Though they didn’t say anything, their expressions showed they were not too happy about the incessant stops.“I won’t risk your condition worsening,” Grayson replied to her.“I am fine, Alpha. Moreover, I am riding in the cart, not walking like the rest of you. The guards are tired and hungry; most of them have bruises too. I don't want to be selfish. Please, let us keep going without any more stops. I am strong, Grayson. Stronger than you give me credit for,” Evelyn said.Grayson knelt beside the cart, his eyes searching hers. “We stop when you need to stop.
Grayson stormed over to the hunter, grabbed him by the neck, and lifted him off the ground.“Why did she pass out? What the hell is happening?” Grayson asked impatiently, his voice filled with desperation.“Th…That’s how the antidote works. Please! Give her a few minutes, she’ll wake up!”“That’s how it works, huh?” Grayson repeated, tightening his grip around the hunter's neck.“Yes, I swear! The antidote is fighting the poison and that's why she passed out. She will wake up soon,” The hunter said through a muffled breath. Grayson released him with a shove, sending the hunter to the ground. He paced back and forth, every second stretching into eternity. His mind filled with memories, moments of his cold rejection, of his harsh words, of ignoring Kyle's plea to accept Evelyn.“Why didn’t I listen?” he thought, seeing Evelyn now so fragile and on the brink of death made him regret everything he did.“Please, Moon Goddess, make her come back to me. I will accept her,” he silently pray
Grayson’s heart raced as he saw Evelyn collapse to the ground, the blood staining the earth beneath her. Without a second thought, he sprinted towards her, his feet pounding against the dirt."Cover me!" he shouted to his warriors, his voice filled with urgency. His eyes locked onto the two hunters advancing on Evelyn, weapons drawn, ready to strike. The warriors instantly fell into formation, swiftly surrounding Grayson and Evelyn, creating a protective shield around them. They blocked the hunters' path, their weapons drawn and their stances firm.Grayson didn’t hesitate. He leaped forward, meeting the hunters head-on with a ferocity that sent shockwaves through the air. His claws extended, his wolf instincts roaring to life as he fought with a primal intensity. He slashed at one of the hunters, knocking him off balance before spinning to face the second.Grayson lifted Evelyn up in his arms, his heart racing in his chest. Blood soaked through her clothes, staining his hands, Kyle
The air was filled with an uproar as the warriors moved through the field, preparing for the imminent battle. The rhythmic sounds of metal clanking and weapons being readied filled the air, and each warrior focused on their task. Grayson stood at the front, overseeing the preparations, his expression stoic as he surveyed the readiness of his fighters.“Listen up!” Grayson said, his voice cutting through the hushed murmurs.“The hunters are currently attacking the Moon Stone pack. We can not wait any longer. We will attack them tonight. This is a well-coordinated enemy, they use guns and weapons lethal to wolves. Our advantages lie in our speed and strength. Beta Luke and I have devised a strategy to flank them.”He turned to Beta Luke, who stepped forward to address the warriors.“We will split into three units. The first, led by me, will engage the hunters head-on, creating a distraction. Alpha Grayson’s unit will circle, taking them from the rear. The third group will be the best
