“Diana, she can't leave without Grayson's consent,” Lisa cried out.

“Who says she can't? I am sure Grayson doesn't want to see her again,” Diana retorted.

Lisa let out a sigh and gently pulled Diana outside.

“Why are you acting this way, Diana? I know you as a kind and caring person. Why are you treating a stranger seeking asylum with disdain? Please, stop,” Lisa exclaimed.

“I am doing this for you and my niece or nephew in your stomach. Grayson wouldn't mind her being gone, you saw him storm out of here earlier,” Diana stated.

“Let it not be your call, let it be his, please,” Lisa pleaded.

“Whatever, I have other things to do right now, are you coming with me?” Diana asked, avoiding any further discussion about Evelyn.

“No, I'll stay here with Evelyn," Lisa declared.

"Suit yourself,” Diana replied before departing.

“Hey, Lisa said to Evelyn as she walked back into the room.

“Hi, I will take my leave now. Can you point me in the direction of the Pack's border?” Evelyn inquired.

“Oh my goodness! Are you alright?” Evelyn gasped as she entered the kitchen and noticed Lisa's injured hand.“Oh, this? I accidentally cut myself,” Lisa explained, taken aback by Evelyn's sudden appearance in the kitchen.“Aw, poor you! You should be more careful,” Evelyn said sympathetically as she moved closer to Lisa to examine the wound.Lisa recoiled slightly, not wanting Evelyn to catch sight of the wound since it wasn't caused by a knife."No need to worry, I'm a wolf. It'll heal in no time," Lisa reassured.“Okay…” Evelyn responded, surprised by Lisa's sudden behavior.“What can I help you with?” Evelyn asked, offering to assist Lisa.“Do not bother yourself, please. Just relax, I'll take care of everything here,” Lisa responded warmly.“I hope you are not thinking I don't know how to cook because I used to be an Alpha's daughter,” Evelyn said jokingly."Oh no, not at all. You're my guest, so it's my pleasure to cook for you," Lisa replied graciously.“Alright, if you insist,”

“I came to tell you I am leaving and to thank you for your hospitality,” Evelyn said before turning to walk away with her heart broken by Grayson's attitude."Stop right there. What did you just say to me? Who did you say is pregnant with my child?" Alpha Grayson asked in bewilderment."Evelyn stopped and turned back to give Grayson a response, “Are you trying to act like you don't know? Your sister told me to leave because you have a chosen mate who is expecting your pup.”“Diana said that?” Grayson asked, puzzled by her sister's actions. She should have been the one convincing Evelyn to stay, not telling her to leave.Evelyn shook her head, puzzled by Grayson's apparent ignorance of the situation. She couldn't shake off the feeling that this was another attempt to humiliate her, so she made up her mind to leave.“Lisa, please show me to the main road. I am ready to leave now. I wished I had listened to you,” Evelyn said.“Alright,” Lisa, taken aback by Evelyn's abrupt outburst, resp

“He's too full of himself,” Evelyn remarked as she walked towards the border with Lisa."I did try to give you a heads-up," Lisa replied, a smug smile playing on her lips as she felt satisfied with Grayson's actions towards Evelyn.“No one has ever spoken to me like that," Evelyn confessed, her feelings hurt by the way Grayson had addressed her.“Sorry about that, it's not Grayson's fault. It is because of what he had been through,” Lisa pointed out.“What has he been through? What is going on with him? Did someone break his heart?” Evelyn asked, her curiosity piqued.“Well, something like that,” Lisa said and went further to explain what had happened to Grayson's father."Oh goodness! That's just awful," Evelyn exclaimed, an expression of shock on her face.“Yeah, Grayson has been treating ladies like trash since then,” Lisa continued, providing more insight.“How is his chosen mate handling the situation?” Evelyn inquired.Lisa let out a subtle breath, "Well…” But before she could c

It is not good for the baby please,” Diana reassured.“I don't want anything from Grayson, I just want him to take responsibility for this child. I don't want to become a laughing stock in the pack for giving birth to a pup who has no father,” Lisa lamented.“That is never going to happen, Lisa, not on my watch,” Diana said.“He doesn't want the child, Diana, he doesn't,” Lisa continued crying, refusing to be consoled.“Lisa, please, stop crying. I already told you if he denies the pregnancy, I will report him to the council of elders,” Diana urged.“Council of elders!!” Beta Luke exclaimed and continued, “I will advise you not to do that, it will further escalate Grayson's anger. You know he hates the council of elders,” “If he continues to deny Lisa's child, I'm afraid I have no choice but to report him,” Diana stated firmly.“G

Grayson was walking through the woods, trying to unwind when he heard a faint cry. He decided to ignore it as he didn't expect anyone would be in the woods.Due to the presence of dangerous creatures in the woods, the pack members rarely ventured in alone. This was why Grayson loved coming into the woods. He found solace in the peace and quietness it offers. He heard the cry the second time, this time it was a little bit louder than the first one and the voice sounded familiar."Who could be out here in the woods at this time of the day?" Grayson said to himself as he made his way toward the direction from which the cry had originated. As he approached the direction in which the sound had come from, he caught sight of a familiar figure with brown hair“Evelyn?” Grayson muttered."Why is she in the woods?" Kyle said, feeling agitated at the sight of Evelyn.Grayson noticed Evelyn grappling to free herself from something, but he couldn't discern what it was from the considerable distanc

Evelyn tried to explain what had happened in the woods to Diana, Lisa, and Beta Luke but they found it hard to believe the story, especially since Evelyn's heel, where the snake had bitten her, was now completely healed."I believe you, Evelyn. Thank goodness Grayson arrived in time to help," Lisa said, gently grasping Evelyn's hand.Diana gave Evelyn a sharp look before walking away from them.“What did he say about you not leaving the pack?” Lisa asked."I didn't even get the chance to ask him about that. I blacked out in the woods after the snake bite," Evelyn explained."Let me ask him," Beta Luke said, staring at Evelyn. He had observed the longing in Grayson's eyes while he was holding Evelyn earlier. He suspected Grayson might be interested in sleeping with Evelyn, which was likely why he was asking her to stay back.“Alpha Grayson,” Beta Luke said as he linked him.“What?” Grayson responded sharply.“Evelyn wants to know why you are stopping her from leaving the pack,” Beta Lu

I was not as hurt as when my mate rejected me,” Lisa explained.“But there must have been some feelings you had for Grayson, to have agreed to something like this,” Evelyn remarked.“Not really, I did it for Diana. I owe her a lot. I owe the Woods family a lot. They took me in when I lost my parents,” Lisa said.“You grew up with Grayson and Diana?” Evelyn asked.“Yes,” Lisa responded.“But that doesn't mean you should sacrifice your happiness for them. Grayson is such a jerk, how could he sleep with you when you are practically like his sister, and now he is denying your child” Evelyn protested.Lisa smiled, “Grayson is just acting tough on the outside, and trying to build a wall around his heart so he doesn't get hurt but deep down he is not a bad person. Grayson's eyes blazed a fiery red, their intensity piercing through the room as his body shook with anger. “Diana, can you hear me?” Beta Luke called out excitedly, leaning closer to her.“Luke,” Diana replied faintly, her eyes scanning the hospital room.“Oh, Diana! You scared the life out of me. You’re Luke, my husband, the Beta of the Silvermoon Pack, and we’re at the hospital,” Diana said, her tone steady but tired.Luke exhaled a sigh of relief. “Oh, you scared me. Lisa said you’d likely wake up with memory loss.”At the mention of Lisa’s name, Diana’s expression shifted, her eyes darkening with a flash of anger.“Where is that bitch?” she demanded, her voice suddenly stronger.“Evelyn? Grayson stood before the assembled guards in the Silvermoon pack's training grounds. His commanding presence, once dulled by despair, was slowly returning. The guards, sensing the shift in their Alpha, stood straighter, their attention fixed.Grayson cleared his throat. “I won’t sugarcoat this—war is upon us,” he began, his voice steady but sharp. “James’ head on our border wasn’t just a warning. It was a declaration. The hunters won’t stop until they destroy everything we hold dear.”The guards exchanged glances but said nothing, waiting for him to continue.“Beta Luke and I have identified critical vulnerabilities in our borders,” Grayson continued, pacing before them. “Effective immediately, I’m increasing patrols on all entry points. Each shift will be doubled. I know this will stretch us thin, but I will personally oversee additional training to make sure every one of you is prepared.”“Alpha,” one of the senior guards stepped forward, “It’s good to see you back, but what happens

“Alpha Grayson, do you copy? Alpha?” Beta Luke repeated over the link, but only silence greeted him.He sighed, frustration etched on his face, as his gaze fell on James' severed head resting inside a box at the southern border.“You didn’t see who left this here?” Luke asked, his sharp tone directed at the guards on duty.“No, sir,” they answered in unison, their heads lowered.“How could you not see something like this? What’s the point of standing guard here if you can’t even catch this? What if the person who left it had tried to breach the pack? What then?” Luke’s voice was a mix of anger and disappointment. The head guard stepped forward, bowing slightly. “We apologize, sir. We’ve been vigilant, I assure you. We spotted the box within two minutes of it being dropped, but we couldn’t see who left it. We’ll be more watchful from now on.”“That’s not good enough!” Luke yelled. “You’re here to protect this pack, and that means no slip-ups. You need to know what you’re doing—be more

"James escaped from Silvermoon disguised as a pregnant woman and even killed a guard who grew suspicious and followed him into the forest," Luke reported to Grayson, who sat in his room with a grim expression."He’s likely gone to the hunters. Don’t worry, we’ll catch up with him," Grayson replied calmly."We managed to drive the hunters back today because there weren’t many, and we caught them off guard. But they’ll regroup, and we need to be ready for them," Luke warned."We will be. Start training the guards and tighten our security. If our numbers aren’t enough, recruit more from the pack. Find able-bodied men and women, train them, and fortify our defenses. We cannot allow those hunters to gain access to Silvermoon," Grayson instructed firmly."I’ll get on it immediately. One more thing—" Luke hesitated before continuing, "I think I saw Evelyn this evening, but I’m not certain."Grayson’s jaw tightened as he looked up sharply. "Why are you telling me this?" he snapped."Shouldn’t

“How much further do we need to go, ma’am? I thought you said the herbs were by the roadside,” the guard asked, his voice faltering slightly as James led him deeper into the forest.James didn’t respond, instead, he quickened his pace, his mind fixated on the plan ahead.“Ma’am, stop right there. He scanned the surroundings, ensuring no one had seen the

James slipped out of the hospital and pulled a dark cloak over his head. His footsteps echoed faintly on the cobblestone path as he kept to the shadows, his mind occupied with how he was going to escape from Silvermoon."Where do I go now?" he muttered under his breath. He clutched his cloak tighter, glancing around the quiet streets. He decided to return to his home, gather what little he could, and flee alongside Demas and Gaius. As he neared his house, he froze, heart pounding. From the alleyway, he saw Beta Luke standing near the entrance with a group of armed guards. Their torches lit the area, and James watched as two guards dragged Demas out of the house.“Where is James?” Beta Luke demanded, his voice cold. “You can make this easier on yourself if you tell us where he’s hiding.”Demas stammered, his face pale. “I-I don’t know! He didn’t tell me anything, I swear!”“Lies!” Beta Luke yelled, grabbing Demas by the collar. “You have been planning treason against the Alpha alongsi

"What is happening, James? I just saw Grayson and some guards at the eastern border, heavily armed!" Demas cried out, panic written all over his face.James froze. "Heavily armed? What are you talking about? The guards were supposed to be caught off-guard, and Grayson should be incapacitated by now! How is he at the borders, heavily armed?" Fear flickered in his eyes as his mind raced."You told me to keep watch at the borders and alert you when the hunters arrived, but that’s what I saw. Grayson and his guards are ready for a fight," Demas reported. Before James could respond, Gaius burst into the room, panting heavily. His face was pale, and his clothes were slightly disheveled."Are you alright? What’s happening at the southern border?" The night was thick with the scent of pine and damp earth as Beta Luke crouched low behind a cluster of ferns. His sharp ears caught the faint sound of crunching leaves—hunters on the move. His eyes darted to the warriors flanking him, their expressions grim and resolute. The moonlight gleamed off the silver weapons they carried, ready to defend their pack at all costs.“Everyone ready?” Beta Luke whispered, his voice low but firm.“Yes, Beta,” came the hushed replies.“We strike first. No mistakes,” Luke instructed, his eyes scanning the forest ahead.Just then, one of the scouts returned, panting. “They’re about half a mile out, sir. They’re moving in formation, heavily armed.”Luke nodded. “Perfect. We’ll split into two groups. Jackson, take your team and circle to flank them from the east. Everyone else, with me. We hit them head-on. Move quickly and silently.”The hunters, unaware of the ambush await
