Van

I pictured this year a little bit differently when it hit March. I thought carrying out my supposed task would be as easy as plucking the petals on the rose flower to extract the oil of sanctity. But no, it of course didn't turn out to be that way. I made a deadline for my task at hand, and from the look of things, it seems time is already slipping off my grip.

I'm right here in the human world, sitting in the middle of an empty bar because the world—Shirlon, which I called home—was now polluted with the stench of her after my failed task. It has escalated to the point where I don't need to even think of her to feel her presence. I see the image of the fragile omega with my eyes closed. I can still see my reflection in her unsettled blue eyes. The horror in them as I promised her death.

The death I promised her was given, but her death was unto a new life. A new life that has come to torment me. She has succeeded in polluting the air that I take into my cold lungs with the stenc

Isla It's dark and quiet in the prison yard. All that's been heard is the silent sobs of prisoners. Some innocent ones heaved for the fact that they were sent in here for crimes they had no hand in, some—in regret for their actions and the fact that they'll spend eternity behind Eamonn's bars. Aside from the sobs, there were the heavy clanking of the Grand clock and the distant chirping of crickets. I hauled myself up from the uncleaned bench—the only stationary object in the cell. I dusted the dirt off the back of my prison dress and looked over to the big old grand clock at a far opposite distance from my cell. The silver rays of the moonlight crept through the small high window and bounced on the clock, making it easier to decode the analog time to the digital. It's 9:45 pm.I see no need for placing a clock in a prison. And that's simply because I feel time is an I feel no one needs to know how long they are going to spend the rest of their lives in misery. No one wants to be too

Van “You've been living on cider more than you have on blood; the dark circles under your eyes are becoming more prominent, and... and you got a hickey on your neck with lipstick stains encircled around it.”“Edgar, I went to cool off. Now stop bugging me; at least you're free of your duty for now.” I increased my pace, striding down towards the art room; my consort followed from behind. He knows he's trespassing, but he still does it anyway. It's how he thinks I've grown a lot of soft spots for him that he thinks he can't go unpunished if he eventually walks into my private lair without my permission. However, the hickey was only the visible surface of what actually went down. Yes, I did compel the bartender, but I didn't leave without giving her a bit of what she wished for; I used her perky titties as a joyride for my cock. He had grown quiet the moment after I had given him the best definition of the disappearance, but he still did follow behind me. I stopped at the door to the

Ellie “Try again. This time with your eyes closed.”“Now, levitate the orb.” Manny's voice fused into the background of my foggy mind. She would be so disappointed if she found out that I'm a mile away from being focused. For a long while she's devoted her time and energy to teaching me how to be me. The least I could do was to try and be a smart student that could easily pick up lessons from the start. “We are starting with something of little weight, and then we'd move into a much heavier one,” she took my hand in hers from behind and held it up to point towards the white feather lying on a small pillow that was five feet apart. For those who've become, you need to be much stronger to withstand the pressure that will be laid from the both kings; all begins with starting off from the littlest magic of telekinesis.” She lets go of my hanging arm.“Now, Ellie,” she says as she returns to stand behind me.My teeth clench. In accordance with that, my jaws tightened. I tried to navigate

VanThe sound of the party echoed from a distance. There were to be prominent dukes and duchesses twirling in promenade style, judging by the rhythm of the small orchestra Gira had organized. I let him do the whole party planning, and from the look he'd pulled it perfectly. I was certain there's a lot of booze and healthy human volunteers to feed on.There's everything in its abundance. Partying has been diluted in our bloodstream from the days we were turned. We were all people who thought about when the word ‘party’ was mentioned. There are so many rooms in my mansion that have the capacity of accommodating one-fourth of my horny subjects—that is, if they would like to get off on themselves at the party. But there's no flicker of serenity in me. In actual fact, the fury storm from only the thoughts of my next move has heightened to distances that even I, my hostile self, couldn't decipher. The grooving from the party arena had died down with my subjects leaving the premises with sta

Ellie The house is dead silent. Quiet snores came from the other residents of the enchanted house. I looked at the old wall clock, hanging loosely—it could fall off if the door of the house was banged loudly—it read three minutes to four AM. I could hardly feel a glint of sleep in my eyes, as the result of my new nature. I am now forced like the royals to stay nocturnal—an imprisoned nocturnal woman. And the more I stayed indoors, the more of a captive I felt than being hidden for safety. I haven't told anyone that, but that was what I had always seen myself as from the very first day Murray brought me here. I felt like a deadly parasite kept in a lab for proper scrutiny. wild predator being kept on a leash. Restricted from movement, socialization, those mundane privileges I had when I was a soldier of Black Park. Scratch the part where I was in the hands of my mate off; nobody who craves liberty will call that freedom. It all started off from mere training sessions, teaching me how

Eamonn“You, Eamonn, you know what you have done. You know the sacrifices you made to him. You know I do not deserve this. You've got bloodstains on from the crown of your head to the sole of your feet. And you know you're doomed!” My eyes snapped open, and I breathed out harshly. My heart pounded really loud…I could feel it in my ears rather than my chest. I'm burning. Bead of sweat stood out on my face, and all I could feel was an unsettling fear. My wolf itched to the surface. I feel it hypothetically running wild in my mind; there wouldn't be any need for that, as it had been that I had tried that numerous times after I woke up from the never-ending nightmare. So then, I quickly squash his urge to get in control. Simply because I was the one in control. Always was, always will be. This isn't the first time I'm having such a nightmare, and each one comes bearing the faces of three people. Finely, Wilbur and Ellie. Each takes turns—in different settings and dimensions—to make my nig

VanI trudge through Shirlon's woodlands. The boundary between my kingdom and my brother's. Same one my brother had colonized and called him. Matter of fact, it's everyone's to share, be it the Soldiers or the Royalties. It's a free space that we both shared after we'd swept clean the former inhabitants. On a clear path down memory lane, this was the home of a different kind of mythical being. Shirlon was never always occupied only by my clan and the beasts. Amongst us were the witches, but right now, they're dead, leaving just one whose house I'm heading to. Because I was eager to ward off issues that may later stir up between me and Eamonn, I let him have it, as he was known for claiming what was and never will be his.The witches of Shirlon became more of a threat with their unsolicited powers growing strongly, making we, the Royalties and the Soldiers look inferior. We did a clean sweep of their village. One except many lives were lost in the eradication protocol, but little did we

Ellie Close your eyes; he wouldn't know,Close your eyes; he wouldn't see you. The true you,So he wouldn't get to see the monster he had perfectly painted and skillfully crafted,Steady your heartbeat so he wouldn't get to hear the beats of your frightened heart, The voice in my head—Ee—spoke loudly, muting the burbling sound of the stream I stood beside. I've noticed that when he's around, my wolf—who had been tagged less active—will jerk up from her dormant state to being hyperactive. For days, I stayed locked in a house of refuge that felt like a cage. The little while I had to myself. The little moment I decided to let loose, I was with my antagonist in my sad story. His presence, wherever he stood, sent a chill wave from my heart down my spine—if that illustration was ever possible. The air that I breathe was poisoned by his scent, and now I'm left to decide my own fate. He's here to finish what he'd started. He's here to kill me. And for some reasons, like not having to keep

Eamonn I was glad that morning came swiftly. Sleeping these days like like a chore these days. It did nothing to wash away the exhaustion that clung to my body. After the little misunderstanding, and the little fight I had with Brant. I retired to back to my chamber. The once comforting, now the most scary place to be in. It took me hours before I could drift to sleep, and before I drifted off, I stared at my ceiling with wide eyes for a long time. Not because I couldn't sleep, but because of what I feared will come after me in my sleep. Like I said, it's been one torment to another, each passing nights. And when I finally drifted to sleep, guess who chairman my nightmare? Ellie fucking Allan. What a race I had gotten into in my sleep. I wouldn't want to remember it I'm details. I was glad i was always able to survive the whole death traps. I always have. And if there were more to come, I will too.The full moon is yet to come, it will be in two days time. Ellie The first thing I noticed when I woke up was the pounding in my skull. A dull and persistent ache that throbbed in the same rythm with my heart. The second thing I noticed was the warmth of a body next to me. Isla. From what I remember, after I was brought back from the woods, Isla took off my shirt and covered my shivering body with a blanket. Now I laid on a bed, and Isla was still next to me. I turned slowly, carefully not to aggravate the pain any further. Isla was curled up beside me, her dark blue eyes already watching me with concern. I blinked at her, my throat was dry, my body was stiff and aching from last night's events. The event that I still yet couldn't believe I was a victim of.I could still feel the cold weight of the water on my skin, even though I was dry now, I was dressed in one of Isla's oversized sweaters. My fingers twitched against the sheets as flashes of last night resurfaced—the cliff's rough edge, the cruel smirk on Van's face, the force of his pu

VanThe scent of damp earth filled the dark atmosphere. The wind blew through the mountains. I stood at the edge of the steep cliff, looking into where Ellie had fallen. The darkness swallowed her whole. But yet, I still feel like I saw her body tumbling, her eyes were wide with shock and her screams pierced deeply into my eardrums.Pains from my deception played out on her face as she vanished into nothingness.I clenched my fist, my nail dug into my palms. My mouth still burned with the lingering taste of her blood which was rich, potent and it was also unlike what I have ever consumed in the centuries I have been a vampire. Not even the blood of my son could beat it. The instant it dropped on my tongue, it invited something that was lost for a while. Strength. What I usually got when I fed off my sons. That fact alone drew more anger within me. Her blood courses through like a liquid fire, a drug far more intoxicating than the finest human nectar. Than the blood of my sons. That wa

Ellie The wind blew harshly, I'm lucky to have tied my hair in a bun. It caused the trees to rustle the trees that were surrounding us. The thick air smelled of wet earth. The wide ocean stretched endlessly before me. Its surface wavered under the looming light of the man. I could hear the waves crashing against the rough rocks below the steady and rhythmic roar echoed in my chestI wrapped my arms around myself not because I was shivering, it wasn't from the effects of the cool wind, but it was because of the uneasiness that grew in my gut.“Van, Why here?” I asked, turning to face him. My voice was much after than I intended, my uncertainty was evident in every word. He stood a few feet away from me, his hands were stuffed in his pockets, his sharp features were unreadable as the silver rays of the moonlight casted on him.The man who I had drank of his essence and he, mine. The ferocious man whom I had somehow managed to escape his kill trap by flaunting that which I knew he coul

Ellie The blood of the Soldiers was forbidden to the Royalties. If anything, it was just as lethal as our bites. It was not a rule but it is against our nature. We were both poisonous to each other. Our natures were considered too conflicting, our essence was too powerful. I was a mixture of the two lethal bloods. Supernaturally and magically so.But that ideal knowledge about us was untrue. I had clearly defied the law and order of our nature, being the first hybrid in Shirlon. And as I struck the deal with the vampire king, I could plainly see it in his eyes. The hunger. The craving. He even went as far as accepting the deal I had laid out, just to taste my blood on his tongue. I like that he was selfish with his emotions and I'm glad to be the benefactor amongst us. I would get to live—not like my life meant anything, but I would like to live a little while in this hybrid nature. Let me see how far I would become. Let me see if my destiny will be rewritten.I'm trusting my inst

  • Two Kings for Ellie    Chapter 48

BrantSilence stretched between us like a thick blanket. Wide and suffocating. I could hear the wind moving through the grass and rustling through the trees that guarded us at the edge of the field.Eamonn's expression was unread when I materialized behind him. It was clear that my presence was dimmed as a disturbance, unappreciated. I knew the times when he was approachable and the times when he wasn't. I knew the times when he would respond nicely to the Pack members when he walked past them and the times when he would act cold towards them, and be unresponsive to their greetings when he walked past them. I knew the happy and the loomy days of Eamonn's, but later it has been more of the loomy days than the happy. So I decided to make whatever time I had to bring the matter to his feet since he'd refused to look into it by himself. I've been shouldering the weight of being the Beta and the Alpha at the same time for weeks now, and the weight is really hard to bear. No matter how I t

VanI made it a part of tonight's event to explain to her the reason why I would have to end her. I like to point out the reasons as to why I'll have to resort to murder before taking any fatal action. We returned to silence, which left her to dwell more on what I had said. There was a wine chamber at the left corner of the hall. There was wine stationed—stocked in the places I considered private. Where there was Vanchure, there was wine. While we sat in silence, I made my way to go get a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. Let us switch up to a little drinking fest before we proceed with her annihilation. I was in a better position to drink anything as I had grown insatiable to what I usually feed on.No, scratch the part where I said insatiable. Insatiable was when one fed and still wasn't satisfied. In my current state, I had no hunger for what I usually fed on. The wine was always there to serve as a reminder of what it felt like to drink from a sweet essence. I wove off the rem

Ellie The dim lights from the candles placed at corners on the wall of the ghostly art gallery, casted long shadows on the wall around them. An invisible ball of darkness hung in the air between Van and I. The paintings on the wall appeared gloomy and twisted with a depiction of unforgotten memories. The silence present in the room was accompanied by the occasional creaking of old floorboards beneath our feet.King Vanchure sat with back hunched and his gaze on his bare feet, though his golden eyes betrayed any hint of something raw. He was shirtless, his occasional movement flexed a bit of his arm and back muscles. The candle lights reflected under his pale skin, a mixture of darkness and a lighter hue. The part of his neck at which he tore open had sealed up like there wasn't even a dent. Like that there was no scratch at all. He had used his shirts to wipe the blood on his chest and where his blood stained mine, away. I sat on the edge of the bench finally—just as he had wanted. I

Ellie Van's touch is so deliberate like he was trying to learn my body, and I'm astonished how a learner could be. Everything, from the way he spoke to the way he looked me deep into my eyes, from the way his hands slid down my shoulders to the way he worked them on my buttons. All screaming possessiveness. This was someone who knew nothing about me. We both crossed paths when I was five, and two weeks earlier, when he showed up as a wrecking ball. One annoying thing about the whole thing is that it was actually a casual touch. Nothing too gratifying about it.I had no right to feel the way I felt right but this was King Vanchure we are talking about. There's nothing that comes out of the ordinary when it comes to him. His touch stirred something deep and highly disapproving within my soul. Something that has dues a long time ago, even while I was with Eamonn. And I do not feel this way because I'm being starved of man's touch. I've had Eamonn touch me in different ways that could
