Lucas POV As I exit the tent, I see the girls sitting at one of the picnic tables and Quinn, Jacob and Zane at another. There is definitely some tension going on between the two tables. Reed walks up beside me and asks, “Any idea what caused this?” “Nope. I’m just not sure which table we should go to, the one with testosterone, or the one with estrogen or neither.” “Hey Quinn, care to tell us what is going on so we can possibly avoid getting our heads bitten off.” I linked him. “I don’t know the whole story yet, but somehow Zane has pissed off Dawn, Jacob has pissed off April. I really want to look more into that and I haven’t heard of anything I’ve done yet, but there was mention of you two. So it might be an idea to join us over here for now.” With that response, Reed and I grab a plate of food and make our way over to the rest of the guys. Sitting down beside Quinn, I started cutting a hunk off one of the sausages on my plate as I said. “Ok spill, what did you dumbasses do and
Heather POV When the commotion started on the shore, April, Dawn and I started to make our way out of the water when I got a link from Lucas telling us to stay where we were so as to not get caught in the middle. We watched from the edge of the water. April stood behind Dawn and I, not wanting to see her brother kill someone. I looked over my shoulder and said to April, “You can look now. Meg took him for a walk.” The guys started to get up from the table, heading towards us. I nudged Dawn with my shoulder and nodded in the direction of the guys. “Should we give them a chance?” “I guess. They did back off and gave us time to think this morning.” Dawn answered. The three of us stood waiting for the guys to come to us. The warriors from Silver River had left the water to go to the aid of their pack mate when they realized what was happening with Quinn. As soon as the guys reached us, Zane picked Dawn up, pulling her close while nuzzling into her neck and whispering something that mad
Reed POVLucas and I lay there in the tent for a bit after Heather left to catch up with Dawn. “Man, it’s getting harder not to push for more with her. What were we thinking when we said no sex?” I said as I turned onto my side to face Lucas.“We were trying to show her respect,” He states.“Please keep reminding me of that anytime we’re with her.” I pleaded with him.“Don’t know if I can. I keep forgetting too.” He answers with a chuckle. We both lay there in silence for a few more minutes before I said, “Well, I think I’m good to leave. How about you?”Just as Lucas is about to answer, we get a link from Quinn telling us there is a problem and to get our asses out there.Lucas and I headed for the table where the rest of the gang were sitting. “Ok what’s the problem?” I asked as I sat down beside Heather, pulling her close to my side.Quinn looks back and forth between Lucas and I and asks. “Have either of you seen Levi since last night?”“The last time I saw him was around eleven o
Heather POVThe Thatcher brothers had done a pretty good job of cooking supper. They made burgers and sausages as well as pulling out the last of the macaroni and potato salad. It wasn’t anything fancy, but hey, I didn’t have to cook it. There wasn’t anyone from the Silver River pack that was staying with us tonight. There were only about twenty or so of us left. The ten of us, along with the Thatcher brothers and a few others. A bunch of the guys had started up a game of volleyball after everything from supper had been cleaned up. I was sitting on the grass watching the game with Dawn when she leaned over and put her head on my shoulder, letting out a big sigh. “Ok what’s up? Even though you said you weren’t mad at Zane anymore, you still haven’t been all that friendly towards him.”She sighs again. “I don’t know if I believed him when he said that he didn’t kiss anyone last night.”“Why? Most of the guys did say that he was with one of them or another when he wasn’t with you. Is the
Heather POVThe rest of the night went by with everyone in good spirits. We danced, we talked, we sang most of us off key, but hey, it was fun and that is all that mattered at the time.Dawn and Zane seemed to be doing Ok, Meg and Quinn were good. April seemed to have forgiven Jacob for whatever he did. She never did tell us. And I didn’t stay mad with the twins. I knew that whatever had happened at the outlook the night before had not been fully them. There was definitely something weird going on in that place. I think Mona may be right in the fact that it has to do with the curse that is on the Alpha family of the Twin Moon pack. I just wish that whatever it was had left me out of it.As we were heading for bed, one of those feelings that I get hit me, I made sure that my phone was close and the app for recording was already open and ready to go. I told Reed and Lucas about the feeling that I had and that if I heard the arguing again tonight, I would wake them up right away. Neither
Lucas POV The next morning was quiet. We had breakfast cleaned and packed up. For the most part, things seemed OK. The three of us didn’t talk about what happened the night before, mainly because we were unsure of it ourselves. The other thing that appeared odd was the tension that was around Quinn and Meg. After how happy they were yesterday, I had no idea what could have happened, but there have been all kinds of weird things going on around the lake lately, so who knows. During the drive back, Reed, Quinn, Levi and I stayed in our own thoughts. We stopped to drop off the Thatcher brothers and their gear as we were getting back into the truck, Reed and I got a link from Mom saying that she had invited Grandma and Grandpa for dinner, hoping that they would be able to translate the recording that Heather had. We had both linked her earlier to tell her about the recording. Neither of us mentioned anything else. After unloading the truck and reloading the Blue Ridge Pack trucks, saying
Heather POV I shouldn’t be letting them do this, that is the thought that goes through my head just before I hear throats being cleared. Oh no. Lucas and Reed quickly move away from me and help me sit up. I notice the scent of my arousal in the air. At the same time, I realize that it’s not just Shane and Mona that are in the room. This is not the first impression I wanted to give their grandparents. They’re going to think I’m like all the other girls that just want to be with an Alpha. I jumped to my feet and ran to my room, closing the door and quickly running into the shower to wash away the smell of my arousal. I’m really starting to think that it is a sign. How many times is it, now that we have been in situations like that and been interrupted? That was by far the most embarrassing of them all. I exit the shower, dry off, towel dry my hair and wrap the towel around my body and start to make my way over to the closet. I noticed Mona and the twins' Grandmother, I don’t even know h
Heather POV “I would like to talk with Reed and Lucas before we have supper, is that Ok?” “Sure Honey, whatever you need to feel better. I’ll send them up.” Mona says as she and Grandma head for the door. I start brushing my hair while I wait for the boys. There was a soft knock on my door as I climbed back onto the bed to sit with my back against the headboard. I call out for them to call in as I get comfy. They slowly enter, closing the door behind them and make their way over to the end of the bed. I motioned for them to take a seat on the bed. Once they were seated, I started. “I just want to make sure you guys understand that I was not embarrassed about what we were doing. It was the fact that I noticed that everyone could tell how much I was enjoying what we were doing. I was also worried that your grandparents would think I was no better than some of the other she wolves that try to get close to you because you are Alphas.” “Oh, Heather they would…” I put my hand to stop Re
