Chapter 8

After finalising everything Lana happily skipped over to an ice cream shop .With her skills and Remus 's intelligence ; she was certain that this deal of their would surely be successful .Now all she need to do was to wait for this month to come to an end.  

Lana purchased a triple scoop ice cream , this could be considered as her celebration for successfully completing the first step for her success .

She was still enjoying her ice cream when a familiar ringtone resounded . It was her phone .Lana pulled her phone out and her face darkened .There goes her good mood .

The person calling her was none other than Adam Stewart , her father .

"Yes?" swiping right for answering ,Lana answered the call.She wasn't willing to call Adam Stewart her 'father'.

"What 'Yes' , Where are your manners , I'm your father !" As expected when Mr.Stewart heard Lana, he at once reprimanded her .

"You need to fulfill your responsibilities as father before you demand me to call you father! What is it don't waste my time ; you have never called me for the past five years ; I know you need something or else you wouldn't have called . " Lana spoke mockingly .

When Mr.Stewart heard Lana mocking he was enraged he wanted to scold Lana right away but his wife , Lana's step mother , Madam Nancy stopped him .She fervently shook her head and urged Adam to speak about their matter. Recently,The Stewart family has been suffering damages .All of their fashion designer could not compare to the latest design of the King textiles and fashion . If this continued then Stewart family will go bankrupt in few years ; King industries were excellent in their field no matter what they do , even though Xander entered in the fashion industry a lot later than Adam .He still made tremendous progress and surpassed Adam in just a few years .With this the public opinion drifted to Xander 's side and Adam's company 'AN' suffered huge damages . Thankfully ; they still had their jewelleries store open or else they would totally go bankrupt by now . 

Therefore; from stopping AN fashion to go bankrupt ,Mr.Stewart and Madam Nancy came with a plan .They would ask Lana to steal Xander 's company drafts and design their clothes on Xander's company design . And once they successfully completed their design they will release it before the King fashion! 

However; they knew of Lana's timid personality thus they decided to use her as a scapegoat .They knew that Lana wouldn't want crossing them and will agree only orally but that would still be alright .They already had a mole in King industry who will steal those drafts .When the time comes and the King family demands an explanation they will blame everything on Lana!

"I want you to steal the spring collection of King industries " Mr.Stewart could careless about this daughter of his ; he didn't even want to see her face , much less talk to her .

Lana sneered when she heard her father's demand .Oh how could she forget in the past life , Adam called her as well and asked her to steal those drafts, not wanting to irk the Stewart family's , she agreed half heartedly .But what her naive self didn't knew that her father was recording their conversation! He only needed her , Lana as his scapegoat. Once the matter came to light Adam pushed all the blame on Lana . He said that he only wanted to check whether Lana would betray The King household or not .

Lana tried her best to explain that she was innocent but all the proof pointed her way .No way , in hell she was going to suffer again! 

"And why will I do that? What have you done for me ? After , I married Xander , atleast I no longer need to worry about going bed hungry. And you want me to destroy it?" Lana too started to record their conversation , If her father could play then she could play as well .

"You ...How could you say that I didn't do anything ! Didn't I fed you , gave you clothes? Now that the Stewart Family is suffering , its your responsibility to help us " Mr.Stewart felt that what he said was correct, he gave food and clothes to Lana and Nico .He fulfilled their basic necessities, at their status what else could they ask from him?

"Yes you did gave me food and clothes but let me correct you ; those clothes were hand me down from the servants , your wife didn't even let us use your precious children's clothes .As for food , sure if we are talking about what you did , let's talk what I and my brother did .I was cook in your damn family while my brother was used as Allen 's (Adam's eldest son) servant; something that we should have been paid for , which you didn't .If we are going to talk about old scores , then you need to first give me the payment for my work at your house!" snarling at her phone Lan ended the call.

"You ...." Mr .Stewart was so furious that he threw his phone at the floor cracking its screen . He never thought that after marrying Xander ; Lana's wings will harden and she will talk back to him! Her father! 

"Adam , what will we do , Miss Rhodes already asked us to hurry , if we failed than Miss Rhodes won't sponser the latest release of our brand " Madam Nancy said fretfully , she was truly frightened. Yes, it was Ella who asked them to do this , she didn't want Lana to even have a chance to strengthen her footing in the King household . 

Adam heard his wife fret but he didn't said anything .His eyes were dark and unfathomable .

After finishing up her Monday class ; Lana made her way to the nearest bus stop .Royal drama University , was a high end university and was quite far way from the hustle and bustle of the city .Even the nearest bus stop was at a fifteen minutes walk . She was supposed to hitch a ride with Eva ,her sister in law ,but the latter had some urgent class matters to attend to . Therefore , Lana decided to take the bus .

The next bus was scheduled at five forty and currently it was five twenty which meant she needed to wait for the next twenty minutes , however Lana didn't care , it has been a long time since she enjoyed the life of a commoner .

"Lana Stewart ?" a rough voice called her and on reflex Lana turned around .

The man who called was buff and tall.A deep scar on his right eye .He was tanned and obviously someone who dealt with dirty matters .

On instinct ; Lana Took several steps back but She bumped into a meaty wall. Four and Five goons stood behind her .She was surrounded .Lana's breath hitched ; this ..this Didn't happened in her past life.

" Who sent you , was it my father , Adam Stewart ?" in a false bravado , Lana kept her voice steady .She was nearly shaking in fright inside, but he couldn't show her fear to her attacker .This was something she learned in her ten years of marriage with Xander .

The man with scar chuckled as if he founded her question funny .

"It doesn't matter whether or not he sent us , or someone else did .You just need to know that be a good girl and agree to stealing Those drafts " said the man 

Lana sneered but didn't speak instead she turned on the recording mode in her watch . This was King industries latest model that Eva gifted her a few days ago , who would have known that this watch will be of use in such situations ! 

"I will not " Lana grabbed a pen from backpack and stabbed the man on her right in the eye , before pushing the man on her left.Maybe she took them by surprise but both of them fell down .

Taking her chance Lana rushed opposite to those goons , she just need to run for fifteen minutes. She just need to call for help once she reached the campus .

But maybe luck wasn't on her side ; the goons leader .The man with scar caught up with her and pulled her hair .For the first time Lana regretted letting her hair down .

The man with scar forcefully tugged at her hair making Lana scream in pain .She kicked , puched and scratched .She did everything to protect herself but the man was strong . With a single punch in her stomach he sent Lana down , for precaution he even slammed her leg down at an odd angle, making sure she couldn't run away .

"What a feisty bitch " snarled the leader , he was obviously not happy with her stabbing a member of his gang in the eye .

"You think you are all that great huh?" the leader slapped Lana so hard that her teeth rattled .

" Just do as I say ; say you will steal those drafts " the leader tugged at her hair and pulled her up , Lana cried in pain .She could feel her hair being torn down .

"I will not " Lana was stubborn as well getting killed by these goons now or getting psychologically killed by Xander later on was no diffrent. 

"You bitch ;don't test my patience !" the leader lost all his patience with Lana and slammed his leg on her abdomen .Lana screamed she could feel her ribs crack because of the force the leader inserted .

"Say it !" slamming the recorder in her face ; the man with scar demanded .

Lana only spat a mouthful of blood on his face .

"Very well , " wiping the blood of his face ; the leader looked at Lana with a maniacal smile .

"You are quite stubborn , looks like beating won't take us anywhere but what about screaming in pleasure, eh?" 

Lana paled ; she never thought that these goons will go this far with her .She expected the beating but this .....this was way over the top! 

Maybe the other gangster agreed with her and they tried to stop their leader .

"Shut up ; if this bitch doesn't speak we will lose four million! Four millions you bastards! You want to lose that bloody money ? Because I don't! I will make this slut say what I want her to say , if you all are scared step away " with that , the leader dragged Lana to him.

"I can pay you twice, I m Xander king's wife!" Lana never wanted to use this title anymore but at her desperate time no one other than Xander could save her .  

"Yeah and I'm Ronan Covington ; You think I'm a fool ? " The leader didn't pay any attention to Lana's struggle instead he started to tug at Lana's clothes.

And then it happened a tearing sensation made its way in her womb , Lana felt as if she was dying .Broken ribs , broken leg and the punches didn't give her this much pain that she was feeling right now . 

"B..Boss she ..she is bleeding !" someone screamed but who Lana couldn't see or tell , the searing pain was too much for her to handle .

The leader noticed it too , he hadn't use much force .nor did he touched her; he was still in the process of tearing her clothes, where did this blood came from? 

"Lana !" 

"What the fuck are you doing " 

Two anxious and enraged voice called out .And a man and woman rushed at them .

Knowing that they got caught the leader and his goons ran away ; leaving a blood covered Lana in a pool of blood .

"LANA ! Lana!" Eva called out to Lana anxiously , she finished her class few minutes ago , she was going to call Lan but then it showed that Lana was still on the campus .Eva gifted Lana a watch with a number of functions and one of those was GPS .

Eva thought that Lana was still waiting for her bus and she decided to find Lana .

But who would have known that she will find Lana in a pool of blood all beaten up .

"Those bastards ran away " Ace Perez ; Eva's fiancee ran after the leader and his goons but they were accomplished gangster how could a second generation rich heir, like Ace keep track of them? 

"Ace call the ambulance!" 

"We don't have time , step away " Ace bent doubled over and picked Lana . Her blood seeped through his silk shirt and made him feel all goeey but Ace Perez didn't mind .Carrying Lana he ran to his porsche .

"Hurry ; keep her still ,I will drive " Ace who hated mistresses and their children , couldn't believe himselfe that he would one day allow a mistress child to dirty his expensive porsche .

Ea nodded and hugged Lana .

Ace stepped on the accelerator and rushed out of the campus .

"Wake her up , don't let her pass out " Ace was driving like crazy but still barked orders to Eva .Eva nodded and took a water bottle out from her bag .

Once ; twice she splashed water on Lana's face , finally after her sixth splash Lana moved a little.

"Lana don't faint we will bring you to hospital " anxiously Eva shook Lana to wake the latter up completely but Lana could no longer feel anything .

She finally remembered her past experience when Ella made her drink an abortion tonic , that pain she felt back then was much similar to the pain she was feeling right now . She took an after effect forty eight hours pill but looks like that pill didn't work .

Her child ....Her child couldn't survive in both her life times .

Lana felt her heart break into pieces and she cried

Watching her cry both Eva and Ace felt anxious 

"Lana ? " 

"My child..my poor child ...they killed my child ...he killed my child ....my child... my poor child " Lana could no longer care about anyone else , she could only feel her pain, the pain of present and past. 

When Eva and Ace heard , Lana .They were shocked.Ace accelerated his car even more no longer caring how many red light he flagged down .

"Her watch is on " gasped Eva as she looked at the recording mode on Lana 's watch .She hurriedly played the recording to know better about the situation .

Once the recording was played both Eva and Ace were furious .

"Damn Them " Ace cursed but still pulled safely in the hospital .

Lana was at once admitted to emergency when Ace and Eva took her inside .

Eva blamed herself but she still had to hold herself together .

As for Ace he was simply guilty because of his personal prejudices he never treated Lana and her brother nicely but turned out that Lana was diffrent from others .She nearly killed herself but didn't agree to betray her husband .

Her husband! 

Ace felt that he was too foolish! The wife was admitted ; the child was lost and the husband doesn't even know .

"Eva call your brother " 

Eva heard Ace , she didn't want to but as the child's father Xander had the right to know .
