Chapter 60

Jason's POV

I pulled up in front of Cassandra's house, a weight of anticipation slowly settling on my shoulders. I came out of the car still feeling uneasy and rang the doorbell.

Today was the day I would be taking the boys; Mason, Justin and Robin out for an outing, just the four of us since Cassandra refused to come with us.

Despite being their biological father, I knew that the boys were not yet comfortable with me. After all, we had only recently met, and they were four years old.

The door swung open bringing me back from my thoughts and revealing Cassandra who had a warm smile on her face. She stepped aside, gesturing for me to come in.

"Hey, Jason. They're all ready to go, I hope you have a great time with them today."

"I was hoping that you might change your mind on your decision not to come with us," I smiled softly as I walked into the house.

"No. But I could change my mind on allowing you to take the boys out since you're not grateful," she threatened and I raised a hand.
