Cassandra's POV

My phone buzzed on the kitchen counter as I stirred the meal I was cooking and I quickly washed my hands, grabbing a napkin as I walked to where the phone was. I glanced at the screen and saw Jason's name flashing so I answered the call after taking a deep breath.

"Hello," I slowly began.

"Hey Cassandra, how are you doing?" He said.

"I don't believe you called me to discuss that," I muttered.

"Actually no, but it's only proper to ask about your well-being and that of the children before moving to my reason for calling," he responded and I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see me.
